Well I can, but my german teacher will probably take the mic out of me in class or somehow ruin my day xD He's that sort of guy, very nice yet so strange.

I need help with my physics :(

A beam of monochromatic light of frequency 4.69 × 10^14 Hz passes from air into liquid. The speed of the light in the liquid is 2.05 × 10^8 m/s.

The answer needs to be in nm and to the nearest whole number, for some reason it isn't 437 - so I'm officially stuck.

what are we working out, the wavelength?

Oh yeah, sorry, I missed out the question:

Calculate the wavelength of the light in air.

EDIT: Wait, it says in air. I know where I'm going wrong. I got it right, it's 640.

EDIT: But now, 3 questions down is the question I thought it was, Calculate the wavelength of the light in the liquid and for some stupid reason that isn't 437 either xD

Yes, it's just my physics homework on Total internal reflection. It's annoying, I can do it all there's just 2 little parts of questions that it keeps saying are wrong. That one and another, which I'm sure is right.

You seen my random quotes and shizz? ^^

Wait, I'm confused, I just did the equation of Wavelength = speed / frequency and I got 4.37 x 10^-7 which is what you got. Is the speed in liquid different or something? Otherwise, I have no idea.

Yeah, that's what I got, which is 437nm. The speed of light is different in liquid, the speed of light in air is 3x10^8, which is why I got it wrong first time. But it gives you the speed it is in that particular liquid in the question and the frequency doesn't change so I really don't know.

I'm doing it online simulatiously, where the teacher got the questions from. It doesn't tell you what the right answer is but you can mark it and it'll tell you if it's right or wrong.

    Ahh that makes sense.

I don't know what a nm is in proportion to a meter but is it possible that it's 43.7nm or 4370nm? I have no idea otherwise.

Damnit >.< Well since frequency can't change then there must be something about the speed. Do you know what some of the other people in your class got? Maybe they could help.
