Riku kneeled down beside her."Why are you crying?"

 

Kairi didn't answer. Instead, she turned and tightly hugged her friend.

 

Riku jumped by the sudden action. He smiled lightly, and hugged his friend.

 

Kairi hugged him tighter, not wanted to let go of her security blanket. "Thank you." She whispered in his ear.

 

"No problem..." Riku sighed. He was ready to go home. He was sick and tired of Kairi getting hurt. "Do you still wanna go home?"

 

Kairi backed away and faced towards the ocean. "I don't know..."

 

Something came to Riku's mind."Was there anyone else in the jail?"

 

Kairi gasped and jumped to her feet. "Cid!"

 

Riku thought about saving Cid. "Let's rest for awhile, okay? Then we'll go get Cid."

 

"Okay." Kairi agreed and sat back down on the beach.

 

Riku sat down beside Kairi and looked at the distant ship. "You love Sora, don't you?"

 

"I think...I do." Kairi said slowly, not daring to look at Riku.

 

"I...I understand..." A tear came down Riku's face. The girl he loved was in love with another guy. Did he still love her? The nap he took earlier made him more mature, but did it effect his emotions?

 

Kairi looked over and saw Riku crying. "Riku, I'm so sorry." Kairi looked away sadly.

 

"It's...it's cool..." He stated briefly, lying.

 

"You're lying." Kairi stated. "I'm sorry. I feel awful about this!"

 

"Don't....It's me! I'm so stupid!" Riku pulled out Way To The Dawn. "I feel like cutting my arm off..."

 

"No!" Kairi reached over and put her hand on the weapon. "You're not stupid."

 

"Yeah, I am stupid. I should'nt have thought you would love me back..." Riku's eyes were filled with water. Tears were coming down his cheeks.

 

"Riku, you're one of the most amazing guys I have ever met." Kairi let a tear slide down her cheek unchecked. "I do love you, but like a brother."
