Kingdom Hearts; The Peter Pan Edition.

Riku increased his pace. How could he let Kairi get hurt?! "Just relax for a bit, we're almost there..." They were still a few hundred feet away.

 

Kairi began to sag a little, but still held on. Her tears continued to rain down on Riku.

 

"We're almost there!" Riku shouted over the water hitting him.

 

Kairi looked up ahead and saw that they were approaching the shoreline. She felt a great sense of relief. Her nightmare was almost over.

 

Riku reached the shore, still carrying Kairi on his back. He laid her down and found her wound. He put a bandage on it and handed her an elixir."Drink this."

 

Kairi hesitated. "What about you?"

 

Riku smiled."Don't worry about me. I can survive. You're the one that matters." He looked in his pockets. "It's my last one anyways."

 

"I'm the one that matters?" She echoed. "You're important too. How about we split it?"

 

Riku reiterated the thought in his mind. They probably wouldn't heal fully. He wanted Kairi to be safe."You have it. I'll be okay." He smiled reassurringly.

 

Kairi shook her head. "No, I won't let you suffer for keeping me safe."

 

Riku sighed. She's not gonna give up. "Okay, but you drink it first."

 

"Ok." Kairi opened the bottle and drank about half. Her leg began to feel a little better.

 

Riku inspected the wound. "It looks better." He smiled widely.

 

Kairi held out the bottle. "Your turn."

 

Riku took the bottle. "Thanks." He drank the bottle dry. His shoulder started to tingle a little, then soothened. He felt like a new man.

 

Kairi sat crosslegged on the beach. "What now?"

 

Riku crossed his arms in thought. "We look for the others....?"

 

"What if the pirates come back?" Kairi bit her trembling lip.

 

"You've got me!" Riku smiled, pointing both of his thumbs at his chest.

 

Kairi felt another tear slide down her cheek. She looked up and gave a small smile.
