Kingdom Hearts: SfE Part 2 - The Final Keyhole and the Mark of Mastery

Eden noticed the stillness of Riku's body, and how her hand had been in his. She quickly whisked it away, nervously glancing at the still body. "Um... Uh...." She really didn't know what to do. But she really didn't want a Keyblade stuck in her chest again. That thing hurt. "I don't know... Let's take it to Sora. He'll know what to do?"

 

Gexln sighed and crossed his arms. "Stabbing her like that isn't going to achieve anything without the right keyblade. You'd need a keyblade forged in the darkness itself to reach a heart that has much darkness within" he stated. He summoned the Shadow Keyblade as if to prove his point. Then, instead of helping, he sat down, wondering who would catch on.

 

"Gex, even if you don't have a heart, I trust you more right now with that blade then anyone here." Eden sighed, groaning heavily as her knees creaked liked old machinery. "Would you do the honors of bringing Riku back his heart? I don't care if you turn me heartless, just as long as Riku is spared. He's more important then me anyway."

 

"So you can do it?! Then please, help out! Becuas Kairi's keyblade is mostly light and we have no idea with Edens keyblade- that and surely she can't use it on herself."Valerie looked at Gexln.

 

"Never tried it before, but logically it should work" Gexln said. He glanced at the Shadow Keyblade. "You sure you're okay with this?" he asked, for once in his life genuinely worried.

 

"Well it'll be a bit problematic when Eden becomes a heartless, but..."Valerie was pondering about it.

 

"Gex, I trust you. Just promise me, if I do become a heartless, put me back to normal." The Wielder of Fire smiled, giving Gexln a small hug. For some reason, it almost made her want to cry. Maybe it was just the memory of Nexas haunting her. But right now, there was a heart to purge.

 

"Well, you heard the girl..."Valerie was hoping for the best, crossing her fingers. Riku was shutting his eyes tight, preparing for any pain or any feeling that came with the process.

 

"Okay..if anything goes wrong...i'm sorry" Gexln said. Taking a deep breath, he plunged The Shadow Keyblade straight into Eden's heart, attempting to release Riku's.

The first thing Eden felt, other then most of her being going into a spasm, was pain. Extreme pain. Literally, she couldn't even scream properly, and yet the pain was terrible. It was like hell and heaven agreed to one day, create the worst possible pain ever created. Only she was the unlucky gal to experience it. After she, naturally, regretted her decision, she could already see two hearts escape her, and her mind silent for the first time in ages. She and Riku were free, and her body was consumed by the dark of Gexln's blade, put to rest.

 

Valerie grabbed Rikus heart, concerned. "Oh boy...."She knew that Eden had made the decision, but still didn't like it. Valerie shook her head, getting the heart to Riku, the heart sinking back into the body with a white glow. "Holy F*** that felt weird!"Riku shot straight up, panting. Valerie nearly jumped out of her skin. Riku saw that he was back in his body. "Oh F*** yeah! Finnaly!"he was a bit...too excited. "Is Eden alright?!"he asked. Valerie gulped.

 

What quickly skittered before the group was a heartless, a Neoshadow, and a mean one at that. It immediately charged at the closest heart within distance, Valerie's. With sharp claws and a newfound hunger, this feral thing was ready to eat.

 

"Holy crap!" Gexln exclaimed. Frantically, he threw The Shadow Keyblade at the Neoshadow, aiming for the legs to distract it.

 

Valerie immediately got out of the way of the Neoshadow with a yelp. Riku got to his feet, summoning Oblivion. Shiva it feels great to do that again...

 

The NeoShadow tripped, angry her meal had been so close. It smelled fresh, as it was visibly beating in the lass' heart. But right now, the anger was redirected, attacking Gexln instead.

 

Gexln leapt backwards a short distance, readying a defensive stance with both Darkness' Sorrow and the Shadow Keyblade ready to block if needed, crossed over in an x shape.

 

Riku cast a blizzard spell-not to harm but at least to freeze so it would keep still. Valerie yelped, not sure if the Neoshadow was Eden or not.

bic: The neoshadow struggled within the ice, calling upon the heart it had been born from to try and help it escape. Knowing who the heart was, an inferno rose, melting the ice. Relishing in the new power, with fire singed claws, it charged once more at the fresh meat.

"Eden! Snap out of it!"Riku yelled, trying to avoid the Neoshadows claws. Valerie knew she was going to regret doing this... "Thunder!"She zapped the Neoshadow, hopinh to keep it stunned.

 

"That thing, while created from Eden's heart, is not Eden. It's your standard heartless really. USUALLY i'd say just kill it, but i've no idea what that would do to her heart so...i'm really at a loss for ideas right now" Gexln said.
