Kingdom Hearts: Quiet's End

R looked up toward the sky as the islands flickered out of existence and smiled grimly at his handiwork. "So then...now those fools will should be separated. And his failure to save the islands will tear down Sora all the more. And Kairi wasn't much of a threat to begin with..but that still leaves the matter of Riku...He's a master now.." He thought to himself.

Beucefilous walked up to Kira and asked "Should we start on the kid?"

 

Kira also saw the star blink out, and smiled with the exhileration. The more Darness was released, the more it took over her senses, and she absolutely loved it. She turned as the others returned and in answer to Beucefilous's question, she nodded. "Yes," she said. "Let's get started. The first thing to do would be to seperate them. As long as they are together, they can help eachother overcome the darkness. What we must do is leave the girl somewhere where she can't escape, and then begin training the boy. We need to be kind at first, and gain his trust. You catch more flies with honey, as the saying goes."

King Mickey was walking in the garden of Disney Castle. That's when Donald came running out, carrying something. "Your Majesty!" He yelled. Mickey turned around as Donald reached him and stopped. "Look what we found!" He held out what he was holding, and it was an envelope with Master Yen Sid's seal on the front. "What's it say?" Mickey asked as he took it and opened it. Donald shook his head. "We didn't read it yet," he said. "We thought you would want to read it first." Mickey took the letter out and read it, Donald looking over his shoulder.

Mickey, my old friend,

I'm afraid I have some terrible news.
The Darkness has been released.
I don't know how, and I don't know why,
but the worlds are in need of saving once
again. You must meet up with the boy
Steven. He will help you in your quest.
Be careful, there is more at work here than
what first appears.

Beucefilous thought about where to leave the girl and came up with a place he thought fitting. "The realm of nothingness? Where the somebodies of the founding six members of the organization banished their master." He suggested.

 

Kira thought for a moment. "Hmm." she said. "I was thinking of somewhere here in the castle. Someplace we could keep an eye on her."

 

Beucefilous looked around at the castle "Its a castle right? shouldn't it have a dungeon?" He asked just before R entered.

"Yeah, it does." He then opened a dark corridor to there. that was the only way in and out of it as there were no stairs leading there.

 

"So,whos going to keep an eye on her?" Xero asked.

 

"Well, no one will need to be with her constantly, if she can't escape. But we can all take turns checking on her and making sure she stays healthy. We can't have her dying off before her brother can kill her. The dungeon will be perfect," Kira said. "I'll go get the children and send the girl through the portal. Then we can begin to work on the boy." With that said, Kira turned to go get the children, formulating just how she would do it.

Sora woke up with a start, everything that had happened suddenly coming back to him. The kids were gone. Those people, the "Shadow's Order," they had called themselves, had kidnapped his kids and destroyed his home. He had to go, he had to find Riku and Kairi and go get his kids. He sat up, looking around him. He was in Wonderland, in the strange room that had a habit of twisting itself around when you weren't there, so sometimes you came in on the ceiling, and sometimes you came in on the wall, and sometimes you would try to leave through one door and it would lead right back into this room through another one. Ugh, this world gave him headaches. He would just do a quick run-through, make sure no one was here, then he would go on his way. That's when he realized, he had no gummi ship, and Riku wasn't there to open a dark portal. He was stuck here until somebody came and found him. Ugh, and time was short enough already! Oh well, he would go and see if anybody was here while he waited.

Kairi came to slowly, not entirely sure where she was. Her experience with other worlds had consisted mainly of the Islands, Hollow Bastion, Twilight Town, and Traverse Town. At least, those were the ones she had been awake for. Now she found herself in a strange place, a stone bridge, white and beautiful, with statues of angels on either side, and a huge gate at one end and a huge open doorway at the other. Beyond the gate was a forest, but it looked like there was a beautiful castle and courtyard through the doorway. So she went through the door and looked around the bright courtyard. She walked up to the castle door and knocked, hopefully whoever was there would tell her where she was.

Riku woke up in Traverse Town, and groaned as he got up. "Here we go again," he thought. He looked around, he couldn't see Sora or Kairi, but he hoped they were together this time. It certainly would make them easier to find. Also, unless Donald and Goofy ran into them, they would be stuck where they were. Again, that would make them easier to find. He decided to check Traverse Town out while he was here, make sure everything was still alright, and then he would start the search.

 

Beucefilous nodded along with R. "So we just gotta teach the kids darkness is good and light is bad? sounds simple enough.." H stated.

"But remember" Said R "He's born of pure light and as such will have a strong trust for it."

 

When Kira reached the room where the twins were, she took a deep breath and began her charade. She went into the room smiling, and was met with the suspicious faces of the two young children. "Hello, children," she said sweetly. "My name is Kira, and I'm supposed to take care of you while your parents are away." She wasn't sure how R had persuaded them to come here, but he obviously had gained their trust, and so she must utilize that.

Mitsuko and Hitomu looked at each other, they could tell that something definitely was off about this girl, but they weren't sure what it was. There was a cloud of fog about her, they couldn't really sense her heart. But the events of last night had them on their guard, and as they stood there, Mitsuko said suspiciously "And where did our parents go, that we need looking after?" The strange lady laughed, and smiled down at her. "They had to go and fight the darkness, Mitsuko. Or hadn't you noticed that it was spreading?" Kira looked around the room and sighed sadly. "In fact," she said. "The Darkness is spreading faster than we at first imagined. It could show up here any minute. We must hurry and get the two of you out of here and someplace safe. Come on." She held out her hands and the two of them and they hesitantly reached out and took them. She turned and the three of them walked quickly down the hallway.

Kira continued masking her true intentions with happiness, the most confusing tool of light. Happiness could hide even the deepest of evil. As she walked, she summoned heartless to be around the next corner, as well as a dark portal ready right around the corner. She smiled down at Hitomu as they approached the bend. "And you've been very silent, Hitomu. How have you been?" "Well-" Hitomu started to speak but then they turned the corner and Mitsuko shrieked.

Hitomu gaped as he saw the Heartless attack. He backed up down the hall, Kira still holding tight to his small hand. He closed his eyes as one jumped at him, and he heard Mitsuko scream. Then he heard a new noise, one that he recognized as a Keyblade being drawn, and then he opened his eyes. Kira was slashing at the heartless, destroying them with ease. Mitsuko was nowhere to be seen. "Wh- Where's my sister?" he asked desperately. The last heartless faded and Kira paused before turning to him. "She-" He looked up at her, she looked sad. "She fell into the darkness." Hitomu stood, shocked. "Is she gone?" He asked hurriedly. He didn't trust himself to talk right now.

Kira came very close to revealing herself with a smile, but caught herself just in time. "No," she said. "We'll find her, don't worry. Until then, we need to get you to a safe place." She took his hand again and ran down the hall, opening a dark corrider and leading him through it. It had been easy to push the small girl through the first portal while the boy closed his eyes. Now that she had his trust as a protecter and helper, he would hopefully be willing to open his heart to the Darkness she taught.

 

"Nice goin' with that whole protector thing..." Beucefilous though as he watched from a distance.

R enter where they stood and crouched next to the six year old. "Don't worry, you can trust her. We'll get your sister back no problem" He said with a bright smile which was visible even under his hood. "So you just leave it to us"

 

Hitomu looked up at the group, all doubts behind him. These people were trying to help, he had to ignore the warning signs going off in his heart. He had to, to help his sister. He looked up at Kira, who was still holding his hand and smiling at him sweetly. "What do I have to do," he asked. "To be able to fight?"

Kira felt her inner darkness swelling with the exhilerationn of victory, but for the first time in her life, she checked the impulse. She couldn't go and lose control now, in front of the boy, she would lose all progress she had made. "Just do what we tell you," she said quietly, "and you'll be the youngest Keyblade Master ever to walk the earth." She held her keyblade out to him, to accept. Knowing Sora and Kairi, they probably hadn't given the children the opportunity to have a keyblade, because of all the struggles that come with the power, but that just meant that they would be able to give him a dark Keyblade to start with.

As Sora walked through the Lotus Forest, he heard something strange going on. He went towards the source of the noise and saw a group of animals and a girl running for their lives from a giant dog-type thing, obviously possesed by the Heartless. As he watched, the girl, around twenty or so, stopped suddenly and turned to face the beast. She was wearing blue, and had long blonde hair, so he could only assume she was Alice. The dog-thing was coming pretty close, why didn't she run? So he jumped out in front of her and drew his Keyblade, slashing at the monsters eye. The thing stopped chasing Alice and roared with pain, and Sora turned to Alice. "Why don't you run!?!" he demanded. She looked at him, eyes wide, and muttered something about all this only being a dream. Then two very large boys, twins, by the look of it, came and each took hold of one of Alice's arms. "We must get away from the Bandersnatch!" One of them said, "No, we need to leave at once!" They hurried her out of the Lotus forest and Sora turned to the Bandersnatch, Keyblade in hand, ready to fight.

The castle doors were opened and as Kairi stepped in, she was welcomed by a very friendly looking man, rather old and rather on the large side. "I'm sorry to say," he said, "But we simply cannot accept one more guest at the moment The guest rooms are quite full." Before Kairi could respond to this, another man came up behind the first and shoved the first man, which must have been pretty difficult, since the second man was much skinnier. "Why, bonjour, M'emuoiselle, My name is Lumier, and this is Cogsworth." He said in a french accent. "Welcome to our humble castle, are you here for the royal anniversary dance?" Upset at being shoved aside, the first man, Cogsworth, tried to no avail to get past Lumier. "No, no, no!" he said angrily. "We cannot allow it! An uinvited guest at the ball! Preposterous!" "Ah, but she is a guest, mon ami," Lumier said smiling. "And what a surprise for the Master and Mistress, you know they love surprise guests!" Before they could argue further, Kairi interrupted them. "Actually," she said. "I'm not here for the ball, although it sounds lovely. I'm just trying to figure out where I am, exactly. I sort of-" She caught herself just in time. If these people didn't know about other worlds, she wasn't going to be the one to tell them. "I lost my way, you see, and-" "Oh, well then, you must come!" Lumier said happily. "If you are a lost traveller, then surely you must be tired after such a long journey! Besides, night is coming on, and it won't do to be in the woods after dark, what with all the heartless running around." Heartless? So the darkness was here, too. She would have to stay and check it out, see if she could do something. At any rate, she certainly couldn't go anywhere, it dawned on her suddenly that she had no way home. "Alright," she said. "I'll come to your party. But I must leave as soon as possible in the morning."

Riku went into the third district and wasn't surprised to see a group of heartless running around. They were soldier heartless, and they were running around in circles, just generally being annoying. He drew his keyblade, he would clear them out and then go on to the next world, Sora and Kairi obviously weren't here.

Back at Disney Castle, Donald, Goofy, and Mickey were in the gummi loading area, saying goodbye. Goofy and Donald were taking the gummi ship, and Mickey was going to use his old Star Shard to travel. This way, they could cover more ground. "I'll try to find this Steven person," Mickey was saying, "And you guys try and find Sora, Riku, and Kairi, see if they need any help. We're going to need as much help as we can, in order to take down this new threat!" "Yes, your majesty," Donald said with a salute. "We'll sure miss you," Goofy said as they got into the gummi ship and took off. Mickey sighed. "Aw," he said, even though they were gone and couldn't hear him. "I'm gonna miss you guys, too." With that, he took off.

 

R watched as she held out her keyblade to do the inheritance ceremony. He would have to help train the boy in the dark arts over the next few months, so he figured why not get some practice in himself? He walked over to Beucefilous and summoned soul eater. "What do you say we have a practice fight? Give the kid an example to go off of." He asked him.

Beucefilous chuckled slightly "Alright. I'm game." He responded and then morphed Demithor into the weapon he felt like using at the moment, which happened to be a scythe. He then called to Hitomu and Kira "C'mon! We're going to the training room!

 

As Hitomu picked up the keyblade, he felt something happen in his heart. He felt a stirring, an awakening of some sort, but he also felt a small pain, as if his heart was sad. Kira's Keyblade dissapeared in a cloud of darkness, and a new Keyblade flashed into his hand, a small lightweight one that was easy for him to hold. He smiled involuntarily, he liked it. It was a dusty blue, with a silver handle and chain, dangling from which was a small white half-heart. The prongs were a deep blue, and in the center of the middle prong was the shape of a star, silver like the handle. It was like a day fading into midnight.

Kira smiled at the small Keyblade. It probably would grow as the young boy did. Children rarely stay the same throughout the years. It was still fairly light-based, but they could train that out of it. "Yes, Hitomu, let's go to the training room. You can learn to fight there," she said, leading him to the training room behind R and Beucefilous. She was curious to see how R fought, she hadn't been able to pay much attention to him back at the islands.

 

They headed to the training room of the castle. it was a large open area with a nobody symbol engraved into the floor. R and Beucefilous stood about 20 feet away and turned to face each other. R started off by charging directly at him and jumped at the last second. he spun almost horizontally in the air and slashed downward at him.

Beucefilous rolled to the side and avoided the blade but it didn't lessen the damage he took. Bright yellow and white shock waves shot out to either side as soul eater hit the ground. The hit stung but he got back up and shook it off. "Thats a pretty neat trick you got there. mind teaching me it sometime." He said charging at him and swinging his scythe upwards and twirling it between his hands so it repeatedly sliced the air all around him.

R jumped back just in time to avoid all but a small cut on his arm. "You're ten years to early to learn my moves" He said tauntingly. His left hand glowed bright and he extended his palm. A geyser of darkness appeared below Beucefilous and knocked him into the air. R quickly proceeded to leap up to his level and slam his blade down on him.

Beucefilous quickly equipped his gauntlets and held them over his chest as to block the blade but still hit the ground with quite a bit of force. He staggered to his feet as R landed skillfully on the ground a few feet away. He had to step it up. He quickly charged at R and raised his right fist to punch him in the face but delivered his left fist into R's stomach as soon as he put his guard up to defend then swung his foot around into his head.

R staggered back from the melee attacks. His head was spinning from the kick. When it came to hand to hand combat, Beucefilous really knew what he was doing. R decided to take a long range approach. He jumped back to the other side of the room and Beucefilous gave chase, but before he got to close, R slashed at the air in front of him repeatedly in an X pattern. Each cut sent out a large spinning disc of energy towards his incoming opponent.

Beucefilous ducked underneath the the first and cut the second in half as he changed to the Masamune blade that was trademark Sephiroth. He picked up speed as he avoided each one. Just as he reached R, the hooded figure sidestepped an delivered a fist straight to his forehead. Beucefilous lay on the ground seeing stars. "Ow..shoulda seen that coming.." He said before slipping into unconsciousness.

 

As soon as R drew his blade, Kira knew. Laughing at herself for not seeing sooner, everything made sense now. No wonder the twins had been so trusting at first. And watching him fight, she was certain of it. What an amazing tool to add to my following, she thought. Of course, he's not a simple tool anymore. He's obviously gone far beyond that. What she said out loud was "Watch, Hitomu. You couldn't learn from two better masters." The boy watched attentively, determined to learn everything he could from what he saw. Kira turned back to the fight and watched it as it ended. She clapped her hands together a couple times, before going out to where Beucefilous lay, unconcious, R standing over him. "Amazing technique, R," she said. "And that certainly is an interesting blade you fight with." She looked down at it for a second before turning her attention to Beucefilous and casting a heal spell on him. Yes, she felt sure the blade was identical. The Darkness was amazing, everything she needed to accomplish her plan was practically falling into her lap. "And now, how about we see what Hitomu can do?" She held her hand out for him to come onto the battlle field and summoned a single shadow. "For your first try, I thought we'd go with something easy," she said. "Just to teach you the basics on how to use your keyblade." Hitomu nodded and started to swing at it.

 

R shifted nervously as Kira laughed and eyed his blade. Had she figured it out? But how? Only seven people had come out of that alive. He dismissed his sword, the fight was over. "Be prepared to intervene shuld he not be able to handle it." He said to Kira.

Beucefilous groaned and slowly sat up, rubbing his black and blue forehead "I really should've seen that coming..."

 

"Yes, I guess I should stand by." But she didn't need to, Hitomu suddenly rushed forward and took the shadow out by thrusting his keyblade straight onto the heartless, then he turned to Kira, smiling. "How'd I do?" He asked. "Well," Kira said, surprised. "You did good, Hitomu, but don't get too cocky, that was just a single heartless." She snapped her fingers and two more shadows appeared, and he started fighting them.

Kira watched as he fought, he certainly showed promise, but it was just beginners luck. He was able to defend himself, but he wasn't very strong yet. She had other things to think about as he fought. R, for instance. How had he managed to survive all those years ago? What had happened to him after the events of that day? The details surrounding him were very mysterious, there were only two things she knew for sure. One, he had made it out alive, and two, he had been in contact with one of the members of Organization XIII. Other than that, she really had no idea about R at all.

 

R watched as the boy fought. They were simple shadows, yet even still. He wasn't bad in combat. "That was good Hitomu!" He called to him as he took out a shadow. He delved deep into his memories while the boy fought, there was something he remembered holding, something important, and powerful, yet he knew it no longer existed and would be difficult to recreate. He tapped Kira on the shoulder and motioned for her to come in the other room with him.

 

Kira looked at Hitomu for a moment longer before following R out into the hall. "Is there something on your mind, R?" She asked.

After he had taken out the Bandersnatch, Sora looked around him. The Lotus forest was quiet now, and he could continue. He walked through the forest until he came to a small gate. Beyond it, he remembered, was the table where the Mad Hatter drank tea with the Doremouse and the March Hare. He almost went in, but felt that he didn't have time to visit with people, so he left and headed to the Queen of Heart's castle.

Kairi went to the party for a little while, keeping her eyes open for any signs of heartless, as well as looking for Sora and Riku, but there were no signs of either. The Master and Mistress of the Castle were dancing beautifully, and there were plenty of dance partners around, but Kairi wasn't feeling in the mood for festivities. She was too worried, worried about Sora, about her kids, about the Shadow's Order. She slipped out of the ballroom unnoticed and ran quickly up a flight of steps to the left of the door. She wanted to explore a little.

Riku cleared the heartless out of the third district and took one last look around before opening a dark portal and leaving. He had a lot of ground to cover, and there wasn't a lot of time to do it.

 

R paused before speaking. "You know that the princesses of heart can do more than just open kingdom hearts right?" He asked her. "They can forge a keyblade of immense power when combined. Power enough to unlock the darkness with ones heart by a single strike as well as open the door to darkness. If we could obtain this keyblade, it would be of great. But, i don't know who the princesses of heart are besides Kairi. Might you know anything?"
