What do you guys mean, it dosn't have enough memory? Does that mean that it will take like five minutes to load?

 

Congrats on Riku, Coders. Sucks that it can't be on PS2, but still, very good work. BTW, would putting Roxas in a party slot freeze the game?

Basically the PS2's virtual memory is nothing compared to that of a P.C., and it would take a very long time for it to load on a PS2, if it would even load at all due to it's deficit of virtual memory.

You don't sound stupid- I didn't know about half of this stuff until about a year ago. Are you familiar with RAM? It's basically the same thing (so yea, it's inside the PS2). Well basically, while a PC generally has from several megabytes to 1 or 2 gigabytes (but that's a lot...), the PS2 has much less (don't know the exact number). The virtual memory determines a lot of things, one of the bigger things being general system speed. Since the PS2 has so much less, it would take much more time to load playable Riku.

Exactly, so it's not even worth it unless a more efficient code is found.

 

Hey guys, I'm trying to do a code video request on youtube except my game keeps crashing. See, I'm trying to put Auron in Donalds slot and Nothing in Goofy's. The problem: I got a half-loaded screen. he code wored, but crashed the game. Any help? Do I need to use "Full Party"?

Well, can you explain why it won't work? I want to know. I still don't understand why playing as Riku would take up to much space.

Okay, if you saw the video, you saw how slow it was right? Well it was sped up so it was like 2-3 times slower. Thats because it takes too much space. So if it was that slow on the computer, which has alot more memory than a Ps2, it would take a long *** time to load on a Ps2.

 

Just reposting a theory to get some constructive feedback.

<_< Of course there are values that change before, during and after the switch with Riku. The thing is, not all of them are related to Riku. And there are like, 100000+. Also, never, ever refer to data as cancer. It's more like memory cells. They stay the same unless changed by an outside force.

Ok the reason? I think that's because Riku changes a lot of values so the game needs to use a majority of its virtual memory to keep him playable.

EDIT: No offense to whoever posted it, but comparing the Riku Code to cancer just shows how little you understand about cancer...

 

What I meant was, the values before you play as him are different than after you have rescued Sora. Just in case you thought I meant something else. And I am aware that most of the changed values are not related to Riku. And sorry if my comparison was inaccurate. That was just the first thing that popped into my head.

Also, I tried played the Final Battle as Roxas and found out somthing incredible (sorry if you guys already know this). Riku is put into Sora's slot. I know this because instead of playing as Riku, it was a T-Stanced Roxas.

 

Would putting Roxas into a party member's slot freeze the game, or would it work?
