Kingdom Hearts- FFM V3!

Just seeing Roxas brought back a lot of memories, one of them being how he had worked with Kairi to go behind Sora's back. Without thought, Sora tightened his grip on Kairi's hand. He shifted his gaze from Kairi to the ground, gazing at that for a few moments. He was going into this situation unwillingly, but he wasn't going to leave now anyway. Kairi wouldn't let him.

Namine looked from Kairi to Sora, noticing that the brunette wasn't looking up. She felt a pang in her heart, and she couldn't identify the specific emotion. She just really wanted things to be alright between all of them...

 

Kairi exhaled a soft breath and blinked once, her and Sora coming to a slow halt on the park path. She looked at the couple in front of them, her eyes on them. By the way Sora was gripping her hand and how neither of the boys were looking up, she had a feeling this probably wasn't going to be that easy for either of them.

Roxas turned his head to look at Namine, his cobalt blue orbs falling on her. "Namine..." he said in a hushed tone, his voice showing a bit of uncertainty and nervousness. But he said it soft enough that the other couple couldn't hear. So far he wasn't really liking this plan...he didn't know if he was really ready to speak to Sora yet. But he couldn't back out now; he probably wouldn't be able to get away with it anyway, not with Namine here. She wouldn't let him leave.

 

Namine heard her name spoken softly, and she turned her head to the side, looking over at Roxas. "It'll be alright," she stated softly, sensing Roxas' uncertainty. She understood that this could be awkward for a little while, but this was the only option she saw for the two boys to make up.

Sora looked a little bit, hearing Namine's soft sentence. She was speaking to Roxas, clearly. But Sora decided that he could take in the words as well. Maybe things would be alright in the end...he did hope so. Roxas had been a great friend in the past. But maybe the past was all they had...

 

Kairi heard and saw the small exchange between Roxas and Namine, and she looked over to her left when she saw Sora peek up slightly. She gazed at the side of his face, and even by that she could see that he had a little doubt. Kairi squeezed his hand gently. "Don't worry," her heart spoke softly. "Everything will work out."

Roxas looked at Namine, his ocean-blue orbs expressing his uncertainty and the nerves he was feeling. He wasn't too sure how this was going to work out, especially since this was going to be awkward. But he took in Namine's words, hoping she was right. Sora was like a brother to him...but maybe that was what he used to be...

 

Sora held Kairi's hand tightly, his eyes wandering over to the girl. "I hope you're right," his heart spoke out softly, communicating his thoughts to Kairi. It would be a shame to lose the friendship he had with Roxas. They had gone through so much together...the blond was like a brother to him. And that was partially why this situation was so tense.

Namine held Roxas' gaze, trying to make him feel even more confidence than what she felt. Things would work out...they had to. If Sora and Roxas weren't friends, then all their futures were going to be pretty rough.

 

Kairi offered Sora a soft smile, nodding once. She was trying to build up his confidence, assure him that everything would indeed work out. If it didn't, nothing would ever be the same between them all. It would be hard, but if the boys reconciled, things would be okay again. It was all in their hands now.

Roxas held Namine's gaze for a little longer, though he was still aware of the couple standing in front of them. They were silent as well, and so he kept his piercing blue orbs on Namine's light blue. He could feel assurance coming from her, and he nodded once, hoping that the confidence she was sending him really would help him out.

 

Sora saw Kairi's nod and smile, but he couldn't bring himself to react. This was very important, and life changing, no matter what the outcome. That thought made him feel very nervous. Before he could think any more, a voice interupted him.

"Hello, Kairi. Sora," Namine greeted her friends politely, her gaze now on the two in front of them. She didn't know who would have broken the silence if she hadn't, and since she did want to speed things up a little bit, she had decided to speak first.

 

Kairi turned her head at the soft voice, her smile softening somewhat. "Hi, Namine. Roxas," she said, nodding once to each of them in greeting. This alone was kind of awkward, but between the boys it would probably be a little worse.

Roxas kept his eyes on Namine for the moment while the greetings were exchanged, then he turned his head forward. His eyes fell on the couple in front of him, and he gave an almost casual wave, though it showed how awkward he felt in this situation. Roxas let his hand come back to his side, his other arm still around Namine's shoulders.

 

Sora turned his head when Kairi spoke, his eyes almost immediatly connecting with Roxas'. He saw his friend's awkward wave, and he gave a small one in return. But mid wave, he felt too awkward. So he brought it to the back of his head right after the motion was done. His blue eyes fell to the ground slightly, the brunette feeling very awkward.

Namine noticed Sora's nervousness, and her eyes softened slightly. This really wasn't a comfortable situation, but it needed to be done. Surely the two boys understood...right?

 

Roxas let his eyes fall to the ground beneath him for a moment, looking at his feet and seeing Namine's right next to his own. This definitely was awkward, and that only made the situation worse.

Kairi pressed her lips together as she looked from one boy to the other. Neither of the boys had said a word to each other, not even a greeting, and she knew that this was definitely not going to be easy for them. "...I'm sure you both know the real reason why you're here by now," she said to them softly, her eyes looking at Sora for a moment before they flitted to Roxas mid-sentence.

 

Namine looked over at Roxas for a brief moment before turning her gaze to Sora, who had yet to say a single word. Gosh, this was awkward...Things weren't looking too good at that moment.

Sora nodded very faintly, hearing Kairi's words. He didn't bother looking up, though, sensing that only one person's gaze was on him. It wasn't Kairi, and it wasn't Roxas. So Sora figured that it was Namine. Without looking up, he knew that was the truth.

 

Roxas let his eyes flicker up to Kairi when she spoke before he let them fall on the path again, the boy nodding slightly. Yeah, he knew why he was here...and unfortunately it had to be weird like this, though he couldn't really help that. Roxas guessed it was a little natural to be awkward when something involved someone close to you, especially if you were right in front of them.

Kairi let her eyes shift between the boys a few times, neither of them saying a word. She let her eyes travel from Sora to Roxas and then to Namine, the redhead unsure of what to do. She felt a small amount of guilt hit her for setting the two up like this, but it needed to be done. Thing was...things weren't going so well so far either.

 

Namine was uncertain as Kairi, though she did have one idea that may help things get moving. And she decided to speak it now, before things could get more awkward or heated. "...We'll leave you two alone for a while," Namine said quietly, her eyes flitting from Kairi to Sora and then to Roxas, whose arm was still around her.

Sora looked up at Namine when she spoke. Alone? Was that such a good idea? What was to keep either of them there if not the girls? But then again, this was a problem between Roxas and Sora, and it didn't really involve the girls. So maybe it was better to get them out of the conversation...

 

Roxas's head lifted and turned toward Namine at her words, his eyes a little wide. In a way, he was expecting that, but yet it still surprised him. He looked at the blonde next to him, his eyes returning to their normal size as he gazed at her. As much as he thought he wanted Namine's support through this, he knew that this had to be done between him and Sora, and him and Sora only.

Kairi nodded slightly in agreement, the redhead thinking along the same lines as Namine. Letting the two boys settle it alone would be better for them. Kairi let her eyes leave the blonde girl and move to Roxas, her head then turning to the boy beside her.

 

Sora felt Kairi's soft gaze on him, and he turned his head toward her. And then he realized that he was still holding her hand pretty tightly. With only brief hesitation, he loosened his grip on his hand enough that she could pull away. Though he didn't want her to, he knew it had to be done.

Namine looked at Roxas now, giving him a faint nod in encouragement. She wanted to tell him everything would be all right, but she would feel awkward speaking at that moment. So she stayed silent.

 

Roxas kept his eyes on Namine's for a second before he started to pull his arm away from her shoulders. He let his arm then come down to his side as he returned her nod with a slight one of his own.

Even though Sora's grip on Kairi's hand loosened, she gave his hand one last squeeze for some encouragement. "Do what you need to do," she spoke softly with her heart, referring to making up with Roxas. She then let her hand silently slip out of his, her eyes still locked on piercing blue.

 

Namine gave Roxas a weak smile before standing up on her toes slightly, giving Roxas a light peck on the cheek before backing away. He wouldn't leave this situation unless it was resolved...she was pretty sure about that.

Sora gave Kairi a faint nod, though he wasn't sure what he needed to do specifically. Did he need to apologize for the arguement? Take the blame for everything? Or just say they should forget everything and move on? He started to run his hand over the back of his head, nervousness obvious in his eyes.

 

Roxas felt a faint smile come to his lips at the gesture as he watched Namine, though it was very faint due to his uncertainty and the awkward vibe between him and Sora. But the only way to solve this was to talk it out, and hope they solve the conflict between them.

Kairi held Sora's gaze for one more moment as she offered him a weak smile. Sora was strong, and she knew he would be able to get past this. She tore her eyes from his as she started to turn away, glancing at Roxas as she did so. Then she let her eyes fall on Namine, thinking that maybe they should both go wait somewhere nearby.

 

Namine gave Roxas a gentle, faint smile, hoping to reassure him that things would turn out fine. After a moment, she looked over at Kairi, who was looking at her. Namine turned her gaze to the side, a bench sitting by the lake not too far away. It would be far enough away that the boys could have their privacy, but close enough that they could see the girls. Namine was sure Roxas wanted to keep an eye on her.

When Kairi looked away, Sora had no choice but to look at something, or somebody, else. He hesitantly looked at Roxas, his ocean blue eyes catching onto a pair identical to his own.

 

Kairi followed Namine's gaze, and she looked back at the blonde before heading over in that direction. Leaving the boys to settle this in privacy was the best way, and Kairi knew it wasn't her place to be there anyway, considering this didn't really involve her or Namine.

Roxas let his eyes stay on Namine for the moment, seeing Kairi begin to walk off in the direction both the girls had looked in. He felt someone's gaze on him, and he immediately knew whose pair of eyes were on his. Roxas turned his head to look ahead of him, his cobalt blue orbs meeting Sora's piercing blue.
