Kingdom Hearts- FFM V3!

Sora got one foot underneath himself, and he knew he would need to support himself as much as possible to get up without any trouble. He gently slid his hand out of Kairi's and set it on his knee, the other still on the ground. Slowly, he started to push himself up, his gaze still on the floor.

 

Kairi let both of her hands rest in her lap as she watched Sora's movement for a moment. Watching him beginning to stand up straight, she moved her hands from her lap and placed them on the edge of the bed, beginning to push herself up as well.

 

Sora set his other foot underneath himself as he stood himself up, making it to a fully upright position after a moment. The room momentarily spun, but corrected itself when he blinked. Wow, he really felt sick. But he wasn't tired, since he had pretty much slept the day away.

 

Kairi pushed herself up from the bed, standing up straight in front of Sora. She straightened her shirt for a second before looking up at the boy that was right in front of her, now off the floor.

 

Sora brought a hand to his head without thought, wiping at a bead of sweat that had formed at one of his temples. He shivered a tiny bit, unable to control that part of himself. Smith was probably laughing in his grave, seeing Sora so sick. That thought made Sora feel great disgust.

 

Kairi tilted her head slightly when she observed Sora's movements, having been looking at him just as he performed them. The shivering bit worried her, her concern growing gradually for the boy.

 

Sora looked up when he felt a pair of eyes resting on him, and he immediatly noticed Kairi's worried gaze. He forced a small smile, the teen trying to reassure her that he was alright.

 

Kairi tilted her head slightly to the side, upright again as she looked at the boy in front of her. She knew Sora pretty well, and even if she didn't know him the best, she could tell that smile wasn't natural but forced.

 

Sora let his smile fade into a very faint one, his eyes still on Kairi. He could tell by the look in her eye that she was still worried, and that smile hadn't done anything to sooth her concerns. He didn't know what else to do; if he spoke, she would know for sure that he wasn't feeling his best.

 

Kairi exhaled a breath silently, lowering her gaze from Sora's eyes. She didn't want Sora to be fake with her, but she realized that his smile was probably one to show her that he was going to be okay. It was just this feeling she had, and she decided to believe it. Kairi lifted her indigo eyes back to Sora's ocean-blue orbs and silently held out her hand, wanting to hold his within hers.

 

Sora looked down a little bit, seeing Kairi's outstretched hand. His faint smile spread slightly, this smile being real. He lifted his hand a little and slid it into Kairi's, his eyes moving from their hands back up to Kairi's eyes after his movement was complete.

 

Kairi gave in to the urge to smile, the girl's lips turning upward slightly in a soft smile. It was a smile that Sora's hand was within hers and that it was easy to read his expression, his smile being natural this time.

 

Sora gave Kairi's hand a gentle squeeze before turning his head in the direction of the doorway. He slowly started for the door. He had a feeling that the rest of the night would be peaceful, as was their future. They had overcome their largest road-block yet, and the brunette expected great things for their future. It was a feeling he had in his heart, and he knew that this was a feeling he should trust.

 

Kairi followed Sora faithfully, their hands together, as were their hearts. She felt a pang of warmth, and she knew instantly that it came from Sora. It was a positive emotion, one she recognized as peace. She was glad she could feel that, and glad that he was feeling it too.

 

Though he didn't know exactly what would impact them in the future, Sora had faith that they would make it through life. As long as they were together, they could do anything. Fate had brought them together, testing their strength. And he believed they had passed the test. Life moved on, and together, they were going with it. The future looked bright to him.

All of the problems that Kairi and Sora had gone through recently--from the shooting at her previous workplace to Smith--were tests that she and Sora were meant to overcome. And they did it, together. When they were connected, they were their strongest, just like now. Destiny had brought Sora and Kairi to one another, and it had tested them by trying to tear them apart. Now they had passed the tests fate threw at them, and the girl knew that they were going to stay strong and get through things together from now on. Peace had found a place in Kairi's heart again, even if it was only a small sliver at that moment. But she knew that it would only continue to grow within her until she was truly happy again.

2 weeks later...

Namine looked up at the trees as she walked through the park, the trees blooming beautifully. However, she hadn't come to the park with Roxas just to admire the scenery, though that was a good part of it. She came for much more serious reasons--Namine had been in contact with Kairi during the past few weeks, talking about everything that was going on. Eventually, they had gotten to the topic of Sora and Roxas. The two boys hadn't spoken since the incident, and she and Kairi both wanted to help make things right between them.

Kairi walked alongside Sora on the park path, the place filled with greenery around her. The trees were covered with pure green leaves, providing shade every time the two passed them, and the grass was just as green. The lake nearby added more beauty to the scenery, Kairi's indigo eyes looking over that way for the moment. As much as she would have loved to just relax here, she and Sora had come here for more reasons than one. Within the last few weeks Kairi had been speaking with Namine, though Roxas and Sora still had avoided talking to each other. The two girls came up with an idea to have the boys settle things. They both wanted the best for the boys, and one way of doing that was trying to help make things right again between the two of them.
