Sora's faint smile grew slightly at Kairi's, and he held her eyes. He stopped stroking her hand and then gently squeezed her hand instead. "You're too precious to lose sight of," he whispered lovingly.

 

Kairi felt her smile widen a little at Sora's words. Even if she still had that feeling of sorrow within her, the proof being the tear stains on her cheeks, her smile had been one out of shyness, Sora's words touching her heart.

 

Sora could see the shyness in Kairi's eyes, and that made Sora feel a bit timid as well. He chuckled awkwardly, his eyes flitting down to the ground so he could avoid Kairi's shy gaze.

 

Kairi's smile softened slightly at Sora's chuckle, the girl letting her eyes fall to their hands when he looked away. Hopefully they could get past this, because Kairi knew that neither of them wanted to be this way with eachother. Things were a little...awkward between them now, something that hadn't happened for a long time.

 

After a few moments, Sora's chuckle faded out, and he lifted his eyes back up to Kairi. That soft smile was still on his lips, though it had faded slightly. He did love Kairi, and nothing was going to change that. Not a small mistake on her part. Well, the mistake of sneaking out really wasn't small; in fact, it was pretty significant. But he would get over it for her sake, so life could somehow go back to normal.

 

Kairi let her right hand move and land over Sora's hand already in her other one. She wasn't sure what to say, or do. Betrayal had never been a problem in their relationship, but then again...there was a first time for everything.

 

Sora let his eyes wander down again, the teen gazing at his hand in Kairi's. It was reassuring, and it only reminded him of her presence even more than what he already recognized. He was so glad she was there with him...and not leaving any time soon.

Kairi blinked once, keeping her sight on their hands together. After everything, to have their hands connected together like this seemed right. It would always be right. Kairi had made a mistake leaving Sora, but that didn't change the way she felt for him. "I will always love you," she said softly, speaking her thought aloud without even thinking about it. It just...came out, as if her heart wanted her to say it, and she followed through without hesitation.

Sora smiled faintly, hearing the caring tone behind Kairi's words. That promise meant a lot to him. Actually...thinking things over, he was surprised she wasn't mad at him for not letting her go in the first place. However, since that part didn't seem so important now, Sora let the matter stay unspoken. "I'll always love you too," Sora responded softly.

 

Kairi lifted her gaze, letting her indigo eyes fall on Sora's face. She felt a small smile come to her lips at his response, and she hoped that they could move on from this. This experience was definitely one of the most emotional they had ever dealt with, all of it. And Kairi wished that it never happened. But now that it had, she wanted to get over the obstacle, side by side with Sora.

 

Sora silently exhaled, blinking his eyes one time before returning his gaze to his hand wrapped in Kairi's. He felt love behind her touch, and he knew that she wasn't going to keep anything from him any time soon. That was something he was very, very sure about.

 

Kairi took in Sora's features while her eyes were still on him. He still seemed a little emotional, and she was sure she was too. Something like this didn't just disappear with a blink of an eye; it took some time to get over it. But Kairi had a feeling that neither of them would be going through it alone.

 

Sora felt Kairi's eyes on him, but he wasn't ready to look up at her just yet. He needed to sort out his own emotions, first. He had to move on...before it affected their relationship in more drastic ways. So he stayed still, his calm ocean-blue eyes staying on their hands.

 

Kairi's smile had faded, the girl now just having the tear-stains on her cheeks. Remembering that, she brought up one of her hands that had been holding Sora's between them, wiping them away silently on one cheek before doing the same to the other.

 

Sora looked up for a brief moment when Kairi took one of her hands away. But once he saw what she was doing, he kindly looked away, deciding to look at the ground instead. At that moment, he didn't want to think too deeply, afraid it would make Kairi distressed again. He would have to think things over later.

 

Kairi sniffled once, hoping that would be the last time she had to do that for today. The hand she used to wipe away her tear-stains reached up and tucked some of her red hair strainds behind her ear, the girl letting her eyes fall on her hand still in Sora's. In a way...that small sight made her feel a little better.

 

Sora suddenly felt a desire to be closer to Kairi, but he wasn't sure how that was possible, since he was still on his knees in front of her. Deciding he would rather be subtle than make a big deal out of it, Sora moved his head forward and turned it slightly, letting the side of his head rest on Kairi's knees again as he held her hand in his.

 

Kairi looked at Sora at the movement, seeing him set his head on her knees. The girl let her hand find his head without thought, her palm sitting on the back of his head of brown spikes.

 

Sora silently released a breath, his eyes flickering shut when he felt Kairi's hand on his head. He felt a little closer to her now, and he was immedialy glad that he had made that move.

 

Without thought, Kairi started gently moving her fingers through Sora's spikes. Her eyes stayed on what was visible of his face, not really sure what to say. But...maybe words weren't needed at that exact moment.
