Sora tightened his grip on Kairi's hand when he heard those final words, a single thought running through his mind: I'd never leave you. There was no way he was going to give up what was most dear to him, especially not after they had been through so much before. "I'm never going to leave you," Sora promised softly, not moving from his position on the ground.

 

Kairi heard Sora's words, and that did it. Tears escaped both of her eyes, slipping past her closed eyelids and trickling down her cheeks. She took his words to heart as she inhaled a shaky breath, trying to fight off her emotions but losing the battle.

 

"I will never let you go," Sora vowed quietly. He meant the words with all his heart. As long as Kairi wanted him near to her, then he would be. He would be her knight in shining armor, her prince charming. He would be whatever she wanted him to be, just as long as she let him in her life.

 

Kairi opened her eyes, letting her violet-blue orbs fall on the boy knelt down in front of her. "Sora..." she said softly, her tears falling down her face slowly. She tightened her grip on Sora's hand as if that was what was bonding them together. She felt his words impact her heart with great amounts of love, and it was overwhelming.

 

Sora shook his head slightly, his head rubbing against Kairi's knees. "I won't," he repeated softly. "I could never forgive myself if I let you go." Kairi was the best thing that had happened to him, and if he ever lost her...

 

Kairi felt tears reach the rims of her eyes again, the girl not able to control her emotions anymore. Tears spilled from her eyes, running down her face like rivers. Sora was pouring his love out to her, and it was catching Kairi while she was vulnerable.

 

"I've come close to losing you too many times, baby," Sora said shakily. He opened his eyes, gazing at the wall as tears filled his eyes. "I can't let you go again. I can't risk losing you. I love you too much. I can't live without you." The teen realized that he was probably laying it on too thick, but he couldn't stop himself from pouring his heart out.

 

Kairi listened to the words and felt the tears continued to run down her face. The girl lifted her hand from the back of Sora's head and to her face, hiding her eyes as she softly cried. She could feel the emotions inside Sora's heart and his words impacting her heart at the same time. His love for her was so strong, a love-filled fire that would never diminish.

 

"This all has shaken me up so badly," Sora continued, a faint tremble in his voice. "You were almost taken away from me again, in more ways that one." Roxas had taken her away in the first place, and then when Smith had come close to taking her...that thought caused Sora to shed one tear. It slid out the corner of his eye and onto the fabric of Kairi's jeans.

 

Kairi kept her eyes closed, and she felt wetness on her jeans, even if it was a little bit. Immediately she knew what it was. She wiped at her eyes with her hand hovering over her eyes, trying to get rid of some of her tears. But the fact that Sora was spilling his heart out to her and that he was crying only caused more tears to replace the ones Kairi wiped away.

 

Sora swallowed, blinking back tears. He didn't want to cry, not now of all times. Even though Kairi was being very quiet, he could sense that she was already very emotional. And he certainly didn't want to make things worse...for either of them.

 

Kairi's eyes produced more tears, and she was sure her face was soaked with wetness from her crying. She didn't care though, too emotional to really pay any attention to that. After everything she did to Sora, he was in here...on his knees, pouring his heart out to her... Kairi realized that she didn't deserve someone as loving as him.

 

Sora shut his eyes again, exhaling a shaky breath. The only thing he wanted now was to know that their love was secure. He needed to know that not everything was going to change because of this incident.

 

Kairi sniffled, trying to calm herself down. Sora's words had deeply touched her heart, and she knew she would never forget his confessions to her. He loved her so much...with such great amounts of his heart. Yes, she knew that Sora loved her very much, but this...this was such a powerful kind of love.

 

Sora let his grip on Kairi's hand loosen slightly as he calmed down, starting to get control of the emotions in his heart. However, they weren't under control completely, and that caused a single hiccup to leave his lips.

 

Sora had just spoken words from his heart, and Kairi knew that she needed to at least say something. She had been silent for so long, her emotions keeping her from speaking at all.

 

Sora furrowed his eyebrows slightly as he swallowed, choking back the tears that had not escaped his eyes. He had no idea how he had let himself become so emotional...and how he was still so emotional at that moment. But he couldn't just push everything aside, not after everything that happened.

 

Kairi took in a breath, though it was slightly shaky. So many things were running through her mind at that moment that it was hard to figure out what to say. Kairi looked down at the boy whose head was still against her knees. "I don't understand..." she whispered, blinking once as a single tear left her eye.

 

Sora heard Kairi's words, and he slowly brought his head out of her knees, turning it upright as he let his ocean blue orbs flicker open again. A few tears were still in the rims of his eyes as he looked up at Kairi. "What?" he asked quietly, gazing into Kairi's eyes when he spoke the question.

 

Kairi pressed her lips together when she finally met Sora's eyes, and just as she was getting ready to speak again, tears began to form in her eyes again...though they never really stopped. "You, Sora," she said with a slightly shaky voice, answering his question. "I don't know how I can be the one you spill your heart out to...just like now." Kairi blinked once, though no tears escaped. Sora's form became blurry and Kairi shook her head as she continued. "I don't deserve you..."
