Kingdom Hearts- FFM V3!

Sora shook his head slightly. "No," he said quietly, lowering his hand from his face. "No, I need to go out and get some fresh air." He suddenly did feel really hot again, and he wasn't sure if it was because of his sickness or the emotions rising up in him. But either way, the cool night air would comfort him greatly. He took a few steps, heading toward the door.

 

"That's probably not the best idea," Kairi said softly, thinking logically. The girl bit her lip once she was done speaking. She wasn't going to offer to go with him; he probably didn't want her company at the moment.

 

Sora stopped in the doorway, hearing Kairi's words. "Maybe not," he admitted softly. "But it's what I need right now." With that, he walked out of the doorway and into the hall. He didn't care what the circumstances were, he needed some fresh air.

Kairi watched Sora leave, and once he was out of her sight, she lowered her gaze to the floor and let out a sigh. She leaned forward, setting her elbows on her jean-covered knees. Kairi brought her hands to her face, covering it as she closed her eyes. What did I do? she wondered silently.

Sora bit his lip lightly, walking down the hall. Walking away from Kairi probably wasn't the best idea, since their problem had only grown worse. But he needed some time to think about everything, before he spoke to her again. The brunette reached the back door and opened it, letting it close quietly behind him as he headed over toward the swing on the back porch.

 

Kairi felt so upset. Not at Sora, though. She was upset with herself. Kairi finally started to feel the outcome from her actions take toll, and now she felt so ashamed and disappointed in herself. She was sure Sora was disappointed with her too...for neglecting to have his feelings in mind. As Kairi sat there, on the edge of Sora's bed with her head in her hands, she knew that she had made a mistake. Helping Roxas save Namine wasn't the mistake, of course. Rescuing her best friend would never be considered that. It was just that she ignored Sora in the situation; Kairi didn't think about his feelings or his emotions during the whole decision-making process. Yes, she knew that he would be mad that she left, but she never did think of deception, not while they kissed. That was what was hurting Kairi now...the fact that now everything she put into that kiss felt like a waste...

 

Sora brought up a hand, running it through his spiky hair as he headed over to the swing. He sat himself down on the edge of it, his feet on the ground to keep the swing still. He was bothered by so many things, he had no idea where to start. Kairi's deception...her lack of consideration....Neither of these things were like her. Sora didn't know that she was even capable of deception. But of course, he saw that now. She had done what she thought was necessary, that deception being part of it. It just...it really, really hurt him that she felt the need to decieve him like that. And then to not even think about his feelings...that stung as well.

 

None of it was even worth it... Kairi thought sadly, biting her lip as she sat in Sora's room alone. Everything she had thought would be okay...it wasn't. Nothing really was. She figured that Sora would never know of her sneaking out until it was too late, but he caught onto that only a little while after she actually left. And then when she kissed him...that was what was bothering her now. The fact that she tried to cover her emotions up was bad enough, but what was worse was that she didn't take Sora into consideration.

 

Kairi had wanted that kiss to be memorable for her...but it would have also been very memorable for Sora. Not in a good way in his eyes. That kiss had been a result of deception, and he would have never have been able to forgive himself for falling for Kairi's tricks. But again, he had no idea that Kairi would decieve him like that. She had never lied to him about something so major before, and there was no way he could have suspected her of acting in such an inconsiderate way. It was selfish of her to take advantage of him like that. And the fact that she had gotten away with it killed him inside. How could I have been so stupid?

 

Kairi felt tears begin to form behind her closed eyes, her emotions reappearing again from earlier. Guilt. Sadness. Disappointment. What she had done was wrong...and very unlike her. I always thought of my friends first, especially Sora, she thought silently. But...what came over me last night? Why did I push away any other concerns but my own feelings?

 

What if that really had been the last time I saw her? Sora suddenly wondered, his eyes widening at the thought. The thought alone terrified him, and he had no idea why he wanted to answer that so badly. It had been so close to reality...Sora shut his eyes, an image of Smith reaching for Kairi entering his mind. He had come so close to losing her, and if he hadn't been there, he would have lost her. All of his emotions about this...he had a feeling they were all because he had almost lost Kairi. Again. He had come so close before, in other situations. But if she would have...disapeared out of his life, forever...when things between them weren't completely right, he would have never forgiven himself.

 

Kairi shook her head slightly, her red hair falling over her shoulder and hanging by her face. She didn't know what had come over her last night... Was it fear? Uncertainty? She wasn't sure, but she didn't approve of it. And yet...she let it happen. Kairi had been so selfish last night, when things involved Sora. She didn't know how things would go from here because of that knowledge.

 

Was Sora angry with Kairi for what she did? No. No, he knew that wasn't it. He was only hurt by her actions, but he felt no anger toward her. Was he angry at Roxas? After all, his "best friend" had been the one to take Kairi away from him. But thinking about Roxas' emotional state the other night, Sora knew he couldn't blame his friend. Did anybody deserve the blame for the hurt he felt? He didn't want to be mad at his friends; the circumstances were so terrible last night, that they had all been a little crazy. But what did this mean for him? Where do we go from here? he wondered, staring into space as he thought deeply.

 

Kairi felt a tear leave the corner of her eye, but she wiped it away just as quickly as it had appeared. She could understand if Sora was mad at her for what she did; it was a terrible thing to do, especially to someone you love so deeply. But if you love a person, you should put them first. Kairi didn't do that last night...

 

Sora suddenly felt a wave of sorrow wash over him. What was he doing outside?! He had come so close to losing Kairi, and he had just left her alone in there? How could he have done that? He loved her way more than that! The brunette quickly forced himself off the swing, taking a few large steps toward the door before opening it and stepping inside. The door closed loudly behind him as he hurried to his room. He needed to see Kairi. He needed to show both of them that he would be there throughout everything that happened. He had no right to leave her alone like that, not after all the effort he put into keeping her with him through everything.

 

Kairi heard a door slam shut, the sound snapping her out of her thoughts. But that sound also brought new ones. Sora must've been angry, and he was probably coming in to lecture her...to tell her how disappointed he was in her and question how she could be so careless of his feelings. The girl kept her hands over her face, her elbows on her knees as she released a soft breath.

 

Sora realized that love was something worth fighting for. He had figured this out a while ago, but he had just been reminded of that a few moments ago. He loved Kairi...more than he even thought possible. Everyone had flaws, and he just had to look past them and love her anyway. He wasn't about to let go of what was most important to him, not that easily. If destiny wanted to try and tear them apart, he wouldn't let it. She was far too dear to him. He blinked once, coming out of his thoughts as he turned to enter his room. Suddenly stopping in the doorway, he noticed Kairi still sitting on his bed, looking very disapointed. His legs started to tremble as another wave of sorrow washed over him, but he locked his knees so he would stay still.

 

Unaware of the presence in the room, Kairi wiped at one of her closed eyes before bringing it back to cover her face. She bit her lip as she sat there, still absorbing all that had happened within the last few minutes. Before she had entered the room she had felt uneasy about some of this, and she knew now that her gut feeling had been right.

 

Sora hurried over to Kairi without thought, his legs nearly giving out underneath him as he made his way over. Out of fierce determination, he did make it over, right in front of Kairi. And then, once he was there, he did let himself crumble. He went down on his knees in front of her, a faint tremble running through him. Without thought, he lifted his right hand and set it on Kairi's leg. He shut his eyes and lowered his head, feeling guilty that he had left her alone in the first place. He had no right to desert the person who was most important to him.

 

Kairi jumped faintly at the touch, her eyes leaving her face at the same moment. She opened her eyes and met Sora's spiky brown hair. She looked at him for a second, her eyes a little wide with curiosity and confusion. When had he come in?
