Kingdom Hearts- FFM V3!

Namine exhaled silently, her furrowed eyebrows lifting slightly as she relaxed. The thoughts still haunted her mind...they were never ending. But at least she was in a more comfortable place, where there wasn't an impending threat. She was thankful for that.

 

Roxas's breathing started to slowly die down as he continued to calm himself. It was just a dream, he assured himself. Relax. But somehow, that didn't help; the nightmare had been too detailed, too real. Smith had been so...lifelike, and the way he had hurt Namine-- Roxas's eyes shot open as he automatically turned his head to look at the door. Namine... She was injured, even if it was in a different way than his nightmare. But Roxas's nightmare had been...accurate, in a sense. Even though Namine didn't have the same exact injuries, her marks of pain were still proof enough for Roxas that Smith had still hurt her.

 

Namine had actually fallen asleep on Roxas' back last night, when he was bringing her home. She had been asleep ever since, her dreams full of trouble and distressing thoughts. Even in her slumber, she recognized the fact that the hauntings weren't going to end any time soon. That made her have a sense of hopelessness in her heart.

 

Roxas's thoughts had occupied his mind so much that, before he knew it, he was already exiting his room, heading down the hall to the stairway. Even if Namine was safe inside his own home, he was still very concerned for her. Roxas descended the stairs quietly, in case Namine was still asleep. He noticed sunlight shining through the windows of his home, but he also noticed the aches in his body started to affect him, waking him up even more than he already was because of his nightmare. He winced slightly as he gripped the railing of the staircase. Right after setting Namine on the couch for the night (after feeling terrible that he couldn't carry her any further because of his own injuries), Roxas had dressed his wounds to the best of his ability and changed his clothes. But not even that comforted him as the aches continued to surge through his body, causing him to halt near the bottom of the stairs and squeeze his eyes shut.

 

Namine exhaled silently, turning her head on the pillow as she slept. Despite the fact that the sun shone in the room, she didn't notice it at all. The previous night had been too stressful for her, and now she was completely out of it, both because of brokenness and exhaustion.

 

Roxas waited almost half a minute until the pains subsided, his eyes opening again. He kept his hand on the railing as he descended the stairs again, reaching the bottom floor. He exhaled as he brought his left hand up and swept his spikes out of his eyes, his forehead still a little damp with sweat. He silently made his way across the floor and to the doorway that led him into the living room. He stopped there, his eyes falling on the girl that slept on his couch, the sunlight hitting her form through the window.

 

Namine inhaled silently, sunlight hitting her hair and body as she laid on the couch. It warmed her slightly, though she still felt cold because of a broken heart. But at least things weren't completely bleak and hopeless. However, she wasn't taking this into account, the occurences of last night and early that morning being the only things on her mind.

 

Roxas's legs carried him over to Namine without hesitation, his eyes locked on her as he approached her. He stopped right next to her, looking down at her sleeping form. His eyes softened when he noticed the expression held on her face...and just her face in general; marks were more visible along her skin, only proving that Roxas's nightmare had been somewhat accurate.

 

Namine laid still on the couch, unaware and unaffected by the other presence in the room. She did feel so alone in her heart, and she was sure that was the case in reality as well. She was useless; nobody would want to befriend her or love her ever again.

 

Roxas knelt down next to Namine's form, his knees touching the carpeted floor of his living room as his eyes stayed locked on her. His eyes softened at the sight of the marks Smith left on her, and he was grateful he was dead. So undeniably grateful he was dead. Roxas reached up and let his hand rest on hers that was against her stomach. His hand lightly rested atop hers, and he could only look at that sight. His hand seemed to be meant for hers; he seemed to be meant for her. Roxas couldn't find any other way around it. It sounded so logical to him... It was as if them being together was governed by fate.

 

Namine suddenly felt something warm on her hand; something gentle and caring. But she was too out of it to realize that it was Roxas, the boy who loved her unconditionally despite the fact she didn't realize it. Her sorrow was too deep for her to comprehend that fact.

 

Even if fate brought them together, it also had ways of trying to rip them apart... Roxas closed his eyes and carefully wrapped his fingers around Namine's hand. He lowered his head slightly, exhaling. How could this have happened? Why did it happen? Was fate trying to make it so they didn't belong together? It kept sending these...tragedies toward them, these threats. Was it testing them? Seeing who would be the one to break first? Roxas didn't understand it, and he felt like he was breaking up inside because of it.

 

Namine felt that warmth surround her hand completely, something holding her hand. Though she couldn't detect who or what it was, she recognized the gentleness behind it. She just couldn't place where it was from...

 

That feeling inside Roxas only proved true, the boy beginning to feel tears form behind his closed eyelids. He bit his lip to try and fight them off, but it didn't work; the tears kept forming, but didn't spill. He wasn't crying without a reason; Roxas wasn't that kind of person. Roxas had plenty of reasons to cry...to yell...to scream. But he did the one that wasn't as loud, and better for the person sleeping next to him.

 

Namine had felt this gentleness before; this feeling in her heart wasn't unfamiliar. And it reached her heart and touched her, breaking through the sorrow in some ways. Though the sorrow was still there, and as strong as ever, there was that new feeling of gentleness as well. But where was it coming from...?

 

Roxas opened his eyes, revealing his blue orbs glistening with tears. He looked at the girl sleeping on his couch, though she was slightly blurry in his vision. He just wanted to hold her, to hug her, to show how much he loved her and how grateful he was to have her in his life. But he didn't want to wake her, putting her first. Roxas blinked once, a tear escaping his eye and quickly sliding down his cheek. Instead of holding her in his arms, he held her hand in his. Roxas leaned his other arm against the edge of the couch and then let his forehead rest against his forearm, hiding his face as he silently cried. His emotions were getting the best of him, the aftermath of yesterday doing the same.

 

Namine suddenly felt the aura change around her, the level of sorrow deepening more than she thought possible. She furrowed her eyebrows slightly, the change startling her. It was so unexpected, and so sudden. Though the warmth around her hand was still there, that didn't mean much compared to the aura that surrounded her heart. It felt as if she were falling deeper into darkness...but she also felt as if she weren't in that position by herself.

 

Roxas felt a few tears brush against the skin of his arm as he silently cried. He didn't want to wake Namine and have her see him doing this. It would only cause her to become even more broken than she already was, or had been last night. He sniffled quietly as the tears trailed down his cheeks, still holding Namine's hand.

 

Namine didn't know what caused the sudden change, making her sorrow deepen. She didn't even think that was possible, but judging by the current mood, she had been very wrong. Things were worse now for some reason, and she just wished things would be alright again. But she herself was far from being okay.

 

Roxas subconciously tightened his hold on Namine's hand slightly, his crying continuing. He had so many reasons to cry; because of what Smith had done to Namine, what he had done in total, what happened to Namine, what was happening to him... It was all so overwhelming and powerful, and it was hard to take that all in at once.
