Namine tensed up slightly, feeling something touch the side of her face. Though it barely touched a mark that was forming on that side of the face, it still produced a small stinging sensation.

 

Roxas's eyebrows furrowed a little when he noticed Namine stiffen slightly, and he brought his hand back. He let his eyes travel to his two friends, who were looking right back at him. "We should go," he said softly.

 

Sora nodded faintly in agreement, keeping his ocean-blue orbs on his friend. "Right," he said softly, looking down at Kairi for a brief moment before looking back to Roxas.

 

Kairi silently agreed, looking down at Namine as she rested against Kairi's right shoulder. "Are you going to wake her up?" she asked softly, her eyes flitting up to Roxas mid-sentence.

Roxas looked at Kairi for a brief moment before he let his eyes fall on Namine. He exhaled softly, but hid the discomfort that flowed through him again. "I'll try not to," he said softly, though he couldn't guarantee anything.

 

Sora arched a brow slightly, though he tried to hide his suspicion. "You're going to carry her?" he asked softly, concerned for his friend. He knew that Roxas was wounded, and carrying Namine probably wasn't the smartest idea.

 

Roxas nodded before he looked up at Sora. "Yeah," he answered quietly. Namine had gone through too much, and she looked weak. Roxas wasn't going to make her walk; he was going to put Namine before himself. He loved her too much not to do so.

 

"Are you sure that's a smart idea?" Sora asked softly. He didn't want to wake Namine either, but he knew that Roxas was injured, and he just didn't want his friend to get hurt more.

 

"I don't really care whether it is or not," Roxas said softly in honesty as he shrugged, though he regretted it. His right shoulder rang out in pain, causing him to suck in a breath and close his eyes for a second.

 

Sora kept his eyes on Roxas, concern in his ocean-blue eyes. But he wasn't going to stop Roxas; his friend always did as he pleased, anyway.

 

Roxas lowered his head slightly, exhaling through his mouth as he tried to ignore the pain. Carrying Namine probably wasn't going to help his shoulder injury, but he didn't really care; he would go through pain to make sure she was alright. He was her guardian angel, and that's what guardian angels did.

 

"...Well, I won't stop you," Sora stated softly, looking at Roxas for a moment. The last time he had tried to go up against Roxas was the previous night, and he ended up working behind his back anyway. Sora frowned at the memory, lowering his gaze to the ground.

 

Roxas opened his eyes and looked up at his friend at his words. His eyebrows furrowed slightly at both the pain fading in his shoulder and also at Sora's expression. But Roxas tried to ignore both, turning his attention to the blonde girl beside him. Now...how was he going to do this without waking her?

 

Sora turned his gaze back to Roxas, leaving his emotions behind. He had plenty of time to think about it later, and he wasn't going to let his emotions control him now of all times.

 

Roxas bit his lip slightly as he looked at Namine. Carrying her normally would put some strain on his shoulder, but carrying her on his back, like they did at the park that one day, Roxas knew that doing it that way would be easier. Thing was...how was he going to do it without waking her?

 

Sora watched Roxas curiously, wondering what his friend had in mind.

 

Roxas shifted slightly, moving a little closer to Namine. He ignored the throbbing ache of his shoulder as he started to reach his arms forward, letting one begin to go around her back while the other started to go under her legs. If he didn't want to wake her, he would have to resort to carrying her this way.

 

Namine exhaled softly in her sleep, feeling somebody close to her. She was unaware of who it was, and even in her unconcious state, she was curious as to what it was. She started bringing herself out of her slumber, trying to wake herself up.

 

Kairi looked down at Namine, catching onto Roxas's movements. She didn't move, though, not wanting to disturb her friend's rest.

Roxas silently let his left hand hug Namine's side securely, looking at her face. He bit his lip, trying to be careful as he let his right arm curve under her knees. He found Namine to be so fragile, and he didn't want to break her.

 

Namine sleepily brought her head off Kairi's shoulder, leaning it on the wall behind her. She opened her eyes partway, blinking twice before they opened to halfway, the girl seeing who was holding her close. Roxas.

 

Roxas blinked once and stopped, noticing that Namine was now awake. His eyes were locked on hers, the boy holding her close in silence.
