Kingdom Hearts- FFM V3!

Smith suddenly became aware of a great pang of hurt when a Keyblade hit him, colliding with his side and part of his back. He cried out in surprise, his grip on Sora disapearing completely as he dropped the teen to the hard, cold floor. He took a few steps back, trying to recover from the hard blow that had come out of nowhere.

Sora grunted when he felt himself being dropped, his body colliding with the ground with a loud thud. His eyes stayed tightly closed as he gasped for air, oxygen finally entering him again now that Smith's chokehold was over for some reason. He stayed on his stomach, unmoving except for the faint rising and falling of his chest as he took in more air.

 

Roxas watched the man stumble from the unexpected blow, but he wasn't done yet. His rage was only beginning to boil. The boy pulled back his left arm now, jerking it forward as he flung Oathkeeper at the man. He was vulnerable from behind, and now that he was trying to recover, Roxas knew it was a good chance to throw in another attack.

 

Smith turned just in time to see another blade coming at him, but he had no time to react. Another cry left his lips, the Keyblade impacting his chest with great power. His eyes found Roxas, and his eyes narrowed in surprise. How was he back on his feet so quickly?!

Sora's breathing started to become a little more soft, though still heavier than usual as he stayed still. Everything felt fuzzy to him, but he knew that now he had to regain his focus. Come on...don't think about pain or dizziness. I gotta get up and fight...for Roxas...for Namine...for Kairi... Sora focused himself on that last name, some of his strength starting to return to him.

 

Kairi flinched slightly at the cries coming from inside the room. She was actually relieved she wasn't inside it; this whole experience had been full of pain. She didn't really want to see it too.

Oblivion was summoned back to Roxas' hand, followed by Oathkeeper as the boy glared at Smith. Good, he was experiencing pain. That was exactly what Roxas wanted.

 

Sora opened his eyes partway before shutting them again, his head still in a fog. He just needed a bit more encouragement from himself, or rather, from Kairi, since she was what kept him going. Keeping his eyes shut, he moved one of his hands slightly, curling it into a light fist before letting it return to its previous position.

"You don't know when to quit, do you?" Smith spoke to the boy in a snobby tone, his evil orange-yellow eyes staying on the blonde. His return was surprising, and really, it was at the worst moment possible for him.

 

Kairi still sat on her knees, where she had been when Roxas was unconcious. She closed her eyes when she felt heaviness in her heart, but it wasn't from her... "Sora?" Her heart spoke the name without hesitation, or without her even thinking of it.

Roxas held his Keyblades at his sides, his eyes staying on Smith. "Maybe not. But I guess a Nobody has a purpose after all," he said calmly, though his anger was building up. And Roxas knew what his was.

 

Sora felt a pang of warmth in his heart, the sound of his name hitting him. "Kairi?" he answered softly, not having much strength within him to say anything other than her name. He inhaled a breath silently before releasing it, pain running through his body.

"Oh? And what purpose would that be?" Smith asked, still glaring at Roxas.

 

Kairi exhaled a breath silently when he responded. However, his reply reflected the heaviness she felt in her heart, and she could only guess he wasn't doing his best. "Be strong, Sora," she encouraged, trying to give him a little strength; she could feel his emotions and pain within her heart, and along with them... hopelessness. "Don't give up," she added softly.

Roxas' eyebrows furrowed over his eyes as he stood up straight, his eyes staying on the yellow opposite him. "Even if some Nobodies are meant to fade back to Darkness, others are not," he explained calmly. "I think that the first time you told me I was destined to Oblivion...I started to figure it out... But now I know," he continued. "I have more than one purpose, and one of them involves taking care of someone very important to me. And the other...well," Roxas paused for a second, his eyes narrowing slightly as he smirked, "the other one is to defeat you."

 

Sora exhaled softly, hearing Kairi's encouraging words impact his heart. She was right; he couldn't give up now. He still had a lot to fight for, mainly her. "I won't give up," he promised softly, meaning it deeply. Kairi's words gave him a bit more strength, and he opened his eyes partway, setting one hand underneath him. Though that felt shaky as well, and he nearly fell back to the ground in weakness.

Smith arched a brow at Roxas' words, taking in everything that he said. Heh, what a stupid Nobody. Thinking he actually had reason to live... "You are wrong about one very important thing boy; Nobodies do not have purpose, for they are not meant to exist. Tell me, how is it possible that a mistaken being has purpose? Impossible." Smith glared at Roxas, his eyes staying on the ocean blue opposite him.

 

Kairi felt Sora's words enter her heart, and she also felt his determination. He could do this, she knew he could. Kairi could sense it in her heart.

"In case you haven't noticed, Smith," Roxas started, azure eyes staying locked on amber, "I'm no ordinary Nobody." The smirk stayed planted on his lips, the boy knowing that the words leaving him were true. "I haven't faded into Darkness, I haven't disappeared. I'm still here," he said, adding emphasis on his last words.

 

Come on, come on...focus, Sora told himself his eyes lifting to Smith as he set his other hand underneath himself. He gritted his teeth together, slowly pushing himself up. The world spun slightly, but it quickly corrected itself.

Smith furrowed his eyebrows at the statement, knowing Roxas spoke the truth. He summoned his blade, the gunblade in his hand by his side. "Maybe, but not for long."

 

Roxas' expression only stayed the same, his smirk remaining on his face while his eyes stayed on Smith. He didn't say anything; there was nothing to say. Smith could think what he wanted, but Roxas wasn't going down as easily this time, injured or not.

 

Smith held Roxas' stare, slightly surprised that the teen's expression hadn't changed at all. He had nerve, he had to admit. Oh well, that wouldn't do any good for him once he was dead.

Sora got himself onto his knees, looking up at Smith even though his back was toward him. He summoned his Keyblade, stabbing it into the ground as he put one foot underneath himself. "And this time..." Sora started. "...You have to deal with both of us at once." He wasn't letting Roxas fight this battle alone; simple as that.

 

Roxas' small smirk grew slightly against his lips, his eyes falling on his friend not far behind Smith. He noticed Sora starting to get up, and he knew then that Smith wasn't going to win this time. With two Keyblade masters, there wasn't any way. Teamwork. Whatever it takes. Roxas' eyes went back to Smith, his cerulean orbs looking into the amber-colored eyes that looked back at him.

 

Smith took a few steps to the side and turned partway, seeing Sora behind him. Hmph, that wretched Keyblade weilder did not give up, did he? He and his Nobody had that in common.

Sora held Smith's glare as he slowly pushed himself up, using his Keyblade to support himself. Neither he nor Roxas were in the best of shape, and it was going to require teamwork to finish this battle. But they could get it done, working together.

 

"So, Smith," Roxas started, his voice a little darker now as he gripped his Keyblades tightly, readying himself for battle, "are you ready to fade into Darkness?" He glared at the man, even if his gaze wasn't directed toward him. Although he and Sora weren't in the best of shape right now, he wasn't giving up because of his injuries. With teamwork, Roxas and Sora could pull this off.

 

Smith turned his sight to Roxas, drilling him with a hard glare. However, he made no response; there was nothing he could really say, now. He took another step back as he brought his blade in front of him, preparing himself.

Sora stood upright, turning himself to fade Smith as he held his trusty Keyblade in his right hand tightly. The man suddenly looked nervous, and understandably why; he was in a for a world of hurt. This time, he was going to not only suffer, but also lose his life.

 

Roxas leaned forward slightly, getting into his battle stance. He held Smith's glare for one brief moment before shifting his determined blue eyes to the ones that matched his own, his sight on Sora now. Together, they could do this.

 

Sora set his footing, glaring at Smith for a moment. After a second, he felt a gaze on him. He turned his eyes in that direction, seeing a pair of piercing blue eyes identical to his own looking back at him. He nodded faintly, determination shining in his eyes. He knew what had to be done, and he knew that they could do it together.

 

Roxas returned the nod once and after a second his eyes returned to Smith. He waited a brief moment before his teeth gritted together and he suddenly lunged toward Smith, dashing forward with his Keyblades at the ready.
