Namine's eyes widened when she saw Roxas fly through the doorway, her heart rate picking up in fear. "Roxas!" she cried without thought, bringing herself off the wall and moving toward him. Was he alright...?

Sora's eyes widened at the sight, and out of the corner of his eye, he saw Namine rush over to her boyfriend. He went over as well, wanting to check on his friend but also see where Smith was. The brunette looked down at Roxas for a brief moment before standing in front of his friend protectly. Smith was standing right in his line of sight, and Sora furrowed his eyebrows in anger. He clenched his hand in a fist, glaring at the man who simply stood there and returned his stare, despite the fact that he had hurt Roxas.

 

Kairi followed her friends' leads, rushing over to see if Roxas was okay. When she arrived next to him, she could only look down at him with worry-stricken eyes, fear inside them as well.

The cry of his name was only faint to Roxas, his head pounding brutally in pain. He lied on the cold ground on his stomach, his face pressed against the floor. Pain enveloped his body, his head hurting from the force of the blow and hitting the wall, his back hurting for the same reason, his cut across his chest stinging in pain as he put pressure on it by lying on it, and his shoulder still hurt from earlier.

 

Namine knelt down beside his form, shaking slightly in fear and worry. "Roxas?" she whispered tearfully, her wide eyes staying on the blonde boy. No, this can't be happening...it can't be...

Smith stared at the teens, his eyebrows staying furrowed. He lifted his gunblade and pointed it at Sora, firing off three bullets.

Sora's eyes widened in surprise and he instinctively summoned his Keyblade, the weapon appearing just in time for him to deflect all three bullets. He growled softly in anger, seeing a satisfied expression on Smith's face. Staying here on the defensive while protecting the girls was not a smart idea, so the only option Sora saw was to fight for a while and give Roxas enough time to recover from his battle. "Stay here," he told his friends softly, looking over his shoulder before charging into the room to fight in Roxas' place.

 

Roxas heard the soft voice, and he could have sworn it was an angel. Was he dying? ...Was he already dead? The boy didn't respond; he couldn't. No, I have to...keep fighting, he thought weakly. For Sora...and Kairi, and...Namine. But the pain in his head was too powerful for him to think clearly. It became so strong that Roxas couldn't handle it, and everything went black.

Kairi turned her head sharply when she heard Sora's request, and her eyes widened as she watched him rush into the same room Smith was in. Her heart skipped a beat in fear, even greater fear than she was already experiencing.

 

Namine kept her eyes on Roxas, tears starting to fill them to the rims. He wasn't responding, and Namine felt a great sense of hopelessness. She wanted to release her tears, but she felt as if she needed to be strong for herself and for Roxas. The girl turned to look at Kairi, lifting her head slightly to look at her friend.

Sora brought up his blade and slashed at Smith, but the man jumped backwards to avoid the blow. The Keyblade only swung through air, and while Sora was preparing to bring the weapon back to his side, he saw Smith approaching him with his weapon raised. Sora's eyes widened as he jumped to the side, avoiding the gunblade by a small margin.

 

Kairi turned her head not only to avoid seeing the fight taking place but because she felt a gaze on her. Her indigo eyes immediately met Namine's, and she noticed the tears waiting to spill from them. She knelt down next to her friend and Roxas, her eyes falling on the boy who appeared to be gone. But she didn't know what version of "gone" was appropriate for this situation. Was he...gone? Or was he just gone temporarily?

 

Namine swallowed hard, choking back tears. She looked from Kairi to Roxas, sadness in her eyes. Was he....gone? Namine hesitantly lowered a hand, setting it on Roxas' upper arm. And then, she suddenly had a desire to turn him over, so he wasn't face down. She was afraid of what she couldn't see at that moment, but she needed to know what to think. She turned to Kairi once again, a few soft words leaving her lips. "Can you help me turn him over?" she asked softly, her voice holding a tremble.

Sora growled softly, charging for Smith again. Their weapons collided, but Sora had a special surprise in store for the man. In his left hand, he summoned Fenrir. He swung it horizontally at the man, hitting him hard on the torso. Then he pulled back the weapon and did the same attack again, rage building up inside him.

 

Kairi turned her head to Namine, hearing her soft request. She nodded in silence, her eyes staying on her friend for a moment. Then she looked down at the blond teenage boy in front of them and she gently reached forward, preparing to carefully turn him over, like Namine asked.

 

Namine gently moved Roxas, both her hands on his arm as she gently started to roll him over with Kairi's help. She wanted--no, needed, to see his face. She needed to know if Roxas was... "I want you to know, that if anything happens to me, I'll always be in your heart." Namine suddenly remembered the words Roxas had spoken to her a while ago. She didn't want to think like that at all, and even the thought of his...death, made Namine want to cry. A soft sob left her lips as she looked at him, unable to keep that one sign of her sorrow.

 

As Kairi helped Namine roll Roxas over, she heard her quiet sob, causing Kairi to press her lips together in hurt. She hated to see or hear her friends in pain, and right now, she was experiencing both at the same time. Kairi was near Roxas' legs, and she gently took her hands off of them when she finished rolling him over, her eyes traveling to Roxas' now visible face, which they weren't able to see since his face had been looking in the other direction before.

 

Namine bit her lip when she saw Roxas' face, his eyes still shut. Was he...? Namine didn't finish the question, unable to bring herself to. She put her hands on the ground as she moved over a little bit, sitting right by Roxas' head. Scooting a little closer to him, she brought down her hands, gently lifting Roxas' head and sitting it in her lap. Her soft gaze stayed on him, the tears still in her eyes but not falling.

OOC: I gotta go get ready, see you tomorrow!

 

Kairi set her hands in her lap as she looked at both of the blondes, her lips still pressed together. She felt sadness surround them, but the sounds of battle still echoed from the room where Sora and Smith were into the hallway. Kairi's eyes left Namine and went to Roxas, the boy still having his eyes closed. Her previous questions had still gone unanswered; was he actually gone, or just unconcious?

"Roxas, please wake up," Namine pleaded, her quiet voice reflecting her fright and sorrow. He hadn't responded yet, and that only made Namine expect the worse. However, she wasn't willing to admit that. It just didn't feel right, even in her great sorrow.

 

Kairi exhaled a soft breath silently, her eyes staying on the blond boy who had yet to wake up. She looked at his face for a moment, his head in Namine's lap. His eyes were still shut, and he wasn't moving. Kairi's eyebrows furrowed slightly as her indigo eyes traveled from Roxas' face to his right shoulder, the fabric of his clothing torn there. She saw a bit of blood and then looked away, her eyes traveling down his form. Her eyes found his chest next, another blood-oozing wound there as well. She figured that the injury was the last one he just received after being thrown into the wall from impact. Kairi then looked at Roxas' side visible to her, seeing another but slightly smaller wound on his side and a little into his stomach. Gosh, Roxas had gone through so much pain in such a short time. The cries she had heard earlier must have been the cries of anguish that Smith dealt to Roxas.

 

Namine's eyes quivered as the tears began to appear again, her vision blurring. The only thing that she could do was stare down at him, and hope that he would open his eyes. She was so afraid; what if he really was gone? She couldn't live without him, there was no way! She might as well kill herself, because going through life without him would have been pointless. And that was the undeniable truth. "Please," she whispered again. "Please."

 

"Please..."

"...Please."

The voice was very faint, but also so clear to Roxas. Even if the voice was so weak to his ears that it was hard to comprehend, he could recognize that voice from anywhere. Namine...?

Kairi let her eyes drift from Roxas' injuries to his face again, the boy still not moving. She was very worried because he was remaining unresponsive. Kairi looked down at the ground, her eyes falling on Oblivion laying at Roxas' side. She reached a hand forward to move the blade, but as soon as her fingertips touched it, it disappeared in a dark shroud of light. And out of the corner of her eye, she caught Oathkeeper vanishing in a flash of bright light as well.

 

Namine's eyes widened slightly at the flashes of light, and her eyes wandered down, seeing that the weapons were gone. Had Roxas done that...? Namine flitted her eyes to the boy again as she moved one hand, setting it lightly against Roxas' blonde hair. "Roxas?" she asked softly, unsure if he was actually able to hear her or not.

 

Roxas heard the same voice again, though it didn't come much louder than before; it was still faint to him. But he knew that voice...her voice. Roxas didn't respond, not that he could. He didn't have the strength to speak or move at all yet.

Kairi let her eyes fall back on her two friends, the one injured physically and the other injured emotionally. The girl didn't know what to do. Gosh, she just wished that her Princess of Heart title came with some unknown power that would be helpful in this moment; she hated being helpless.

 

Namine felt a faint tremble run through her hand, but she forced it to still as she looked down at Roxas, the girl feeling very distressed. Roxas' wasn't responding to anything at all, and this only increased her anxiety. But it didn't feel like he was gone...not really. Not yet. God, please don't take him away from me, she prayed silently without thought, her gaze not leaving the boy she loved with all her heart.

 

Kairi let her eyes fall on the blond teenage boy in front of her again. Her eyes didn't catch any change; he still wasn't responding, wasn't moving...wasn't doing anything. Was he really...gone?​
