Smith quickly brought down his weapon, focusing his strength on that heavy movement.

 

A cry of pain left Roxas' lips as the heavy sword met his shoulder with strong force, his eyes shutting tightly. The pain surged through his shoulder, his hold on Oblivion loosening slightly because of it.

Kairi's eyes widened even more, recognizing that cry as one of Roxas'.

 

Smith furrowed his eyebrows as he pulled back his weapon, preparing to strike again. He wasn't going to give Roxas a break, not when so much was at stake.

A soft gasp left Namine's lips when she heard the cry, the girl opening her eyes and looking to the door. That came from Roxas...she knew it.

Sora was surprised when he heard Roxas' cry, and he instinctively wanted to run in and assist his friend. But he knew his place; he had to stay with the girls.

 

Roxas took a step back from the blow, opening his eyes slightly. The pain rang through his shoulder, but he tried to fight it off; he had to stay strong, he couldn't let one blow take him out. Roxas' eyes flitted up quickly, opening fully when he saw Smith preparing to deal another blow. No...Roxas couldn't let him. But the pain in Roxas' shoulder temporarily stopped him from fighting with Oblivion for the moment, and he knew he had to resort to using Oathkeeper. The boy started to raise Oathkeeper so he could block the attack that was surely going to come to him.

 

Smith saw that Roxas wasn't using that arm, and he felt glad that he had done some heavy damage early in the battle. He was going to do a similar attack, but he now saw that Roxas had raised Oathkeeper to defend himself. Smith swung at Roxas once again, moving horizontally this time instead of landing a vertical blow.

 

Roxas jumped back slightly, but not in time to avoid a swipe into his side and a little along his stomach, the tip of Smith's gunblade grazing his skin. The boy winced, his eyes squeezing shut for a split second before he realized that he had to retaliate. Oathkeeper still up, Roxas swung it down hard at Smith's upper body, where some of the man's injuries already were from his fight with Sora earlier.

 

Smith's eyes widened slightly at Roxas' quick retaliation, the man making a move to pull back his gunblade. But it wasn't fast enough. He grunted softly when he felt Oathkeeper hit him hard, and it impacted a wound he had recieved earlier.

 

Roxas forced himself to move his right arm, even if his shoulder was in pain. With a grunt, he pulled Oblivion up and forward, starting to bring the weapon down from above him.

 

Smith saw Roxas' other weapon coming down on him, and he raised his gunblade. After a very brief moment, he heard their weapons collide, with Roxas' Keyblade pressing down on his blade.

 

Roxas was glad that he had two weapons, because he really could use them to his advantage. While he focused his strength in his right arm down on Oblivion, which in turn pushed harder onto Smith's blade, he let out a battle cry as he swung Oathkeeper at the man's torso.

 

Smith grunted when he felt Roxas press down harder on him, making it impossible for him to withdraw his weapon. If he made a move to get Roxas off of him, he would have only been hit by Oathkeeper with more force. The man shut his eyes tightly when he felt the blade impact his chest, a soft cry leaving his lips.

 

Roxas' rage continued to grow within him, becoming that fiery wrath he had dealt with earlier...in the same exact building with the same exact enemy. Just the memory of it caused Roxas to grind his teeth together and get angrier. The boy knew that Smith was stronger than last time; it was clearly evident by the way the man was dealing blows to him. But Roxas' rage fought off the pain that Smith dealt to him, and that only added more adrenaline. The boy pressed down harder with Oblivion, ignoring the pain in his shoulder as he did so.

 

Smith opened his eyes, feeling Roxas' putting more pressure on him. Of course, Smith wasn't giving in that easily. He pressed back with his own weapon, starting to get the weight off of him.

 

Roxas felt himself losing the force he had on Smith's blade. That knowledge only caused him to lift Oathkeeper up as well, pressing it against Smith's gunblade. Roxas' eyes glared madly at the yellow-orange in front of him, his teeth gritted as he grunted, trying to press harder on Smith's blade.

 

Smith grunted when he felt both of Roxas' blades pressing against him, and he returned the pressure onto Roxas, adrenaline rushing through his viens. Though Roxas did have a small advantage, he was still going to make this fight as difficult for the teen as possible. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed the doorway, but he didn't really pay attention to that.

 

Roxas' kept his eyes on Smith, though he could see their blades shaking with the strong force from both of them. The boy didn't give up, though; he only pressed on, putting as much strength as possible into his Keyblades. He couldn't let Smith get away with this. The girls and Sora were just outside in the hall, and he couldn't let them get involved with any more danger.

 

Smith grit his teeth together as he pushed down hard on Roxas' Keyblades, his strength greater than Roxas'. Once the boy was off of him, he swung his gunblade horizontally toward the boy with all his might, seeing an oppurtunity to get in a very strong attack.

 

Roxas was still trying to recover from the push Smith had dealt to him when he thrusted his Keyblades away. The boy stumbled slightly from the force of the shove, his form moving back toward the door slightly as he tried to catch his footing. He was so preoccupied with that, that he had no time to react or defend himself from the attack that was coming his way.

 

Smith moved forward as he swung the blade, seeing that Roxas was very unprepared for another attack. He hit Roxas' torso with all his might, the hefty blade proving just how powerful it was in capable hands.

 

Roxas let out a cry in pain, feeling the effect of Smith's sword cutting through his shirt and skin on his torso as he was suddenly thrown backward by the force of the blow the man had dealt. The boy flew right through the doorway and into the wall in the hallway, a grunt of pain leaving him as he hit his head and his body slammed into it. His Keyblades left his hands and clattered on the hard, cold floor, Roxas falling from the force of gravity to the ground roughly.

Kairi gasped when the blond suddenly came out of nowhere and crashed into the wall, the girl instinctively taking a step back as her eyes widened in fear and surprise.
