Namine heard the sternness in Roxas' voice as she kept her eyes on the ground, sure that a fight was going to start soon.

Smith had a smug look on his face as he looked at Roxas, a faint yet visible smile on his face. "Just your pathetic attempt to protect your Nobody," he said simply. His evil, orange eyes stayed on Roxas as he waited for a response.

 

Roxas clenched his fists, hating to have Namine referred to as that. Even if it was what she and he were, they knew that by that part they were a little unlucky. But they were different...half a person, and were still able to live and love. Roxas' eyebrows furrowed a little more. "That's Namine," he corrected Smith strictly.

 

Namine's eyebrows furrowed slightly at the conversation, the girl not being comfortable with the fact that she was being spoke about.

Smith shrugged slightly, not really caring. "I only spoke the truth; no need to get upset about it." Of course, he had purposely spoken to make Roxas upset, and he could see that it was working. If there was going to be a fight, he was at least going to have fun with it, since this was a part of his revenge.

 

Roxas exhaled through his nose, the breath leaving him heavier than he had expected. He glared at Smith, his blue eyes meeting the evil yellow-orange. "The only thing pathetic here is you," he said, trying to get the conversation away from Namine, whose hand was still on his back.

 

Smith chuckled softly, hearing Roxas' angry tone. "Oh? And how's that?" Smith questioned, allowing the conversation to change directions as he held Roxas' glare with one of his own.

 

It was Roxas' turn to smile smugly. "Heh, isn't it obvious?" The boy looked at the man with the same expression, his tone starting to get smart with the man. "You honestly thought you could pull this off? Hate to break it to you, Smith, but it backfired." Roxas' facial features held the smug expression, his blue eyes on the ugly yellow-orange on the other side of the room.

 

Smith's smug smile faded at Roxas' statement, a soft growl leaving him. Alright, so taking the princess wasn't going to happen. At least he still was getting his revenge. "Hate to break it to you," Smith started, "but I haven't failed yet. In fact, things are just dandy in my view. I've had a fun night, and I'm sure your Nobody can testify to that."

Namine stiffened at Smith's words, a chill running through her at the mere mention of her. The past night had been awful for her, and that explained why it was so great for the evil man across the room.

 

Roxas' smug expression vanished quickly, his eyes widening at Smith's words as he froze. After a few seconds, he glanced over his shoulder for a brief moment, his eyes falling on Namine's form slightly before he quickly turned his focus forward again. Just in that short motion, his eyes had caught a few of the marks on Namine. And Roxas suddenly felt his anger returning from earlier, rage building up inside him. His wide eyes suddenly narrowed, his eyebrows furrowing as his glare on Smith returned. "What'd you do?!" he demanded a little louder than before.

 

Namine felt as if she wanted to cry, both from Smith's cruelty and Roxas' caring, protective nature. The horrors she had faced within the past few hours...they were going to stay with her for a very long time, even after Smith was long gone.

Smith smirked at Roxas' statement, wondering if he should give a response. But instead, he stayed silent, knowing that would tick Roxas off more than any words possibly could have done.

 

Roxas' fists tightened, the silence being something he didn't want to hear. And he was sure Smith knew that. The boy's form started trembling slightly from the sudden surge of anger and tension, and with Namine's hand still on his back, he was sure she could feel the faint shaking of his body. Roxas' hands started flexing, the boy very tempted to summon his Keyblades as he glared at the man he hated to have involved in his life.

 

Namine felt a faint tremble, and at first she thought it was her, since she was so afraid of Smith. But after a few brief moments, she realized that it was Roxas, and he was trying his hardest to restrain himself. Namine saw what needed to be done, and she lightly ran her hand over Roxas' back before she returned it to her side.

Smith stayed silent, glaring at Roxas. The teen seemed to be seething with anger, and he was pleased with himself. Two damaged lives in one night...revenge was very, very sweet.

 

Roxas exhaled at the small, light touch that Namine provided and, actually, it helped that small tremble of anger fade. However, the wrath still remained within him as he held Smith's gaze. The silence was filled with tension, undoubtedly.

 

Namine looked down at the floor, the silence filled with tension. If something was going to happen, she wished it would just happen so they could all leave and go home. The last place she wanted to be was here...with him.

Smith held Roxas' glare, silently challenging the teen to summon his Keyblades.

 

"I swear," Roxas started, anger rushing through him, the boy holding his hands out to his sides. In less than two seconds, two Keyblades appeared in his hands--Oathkeeper and Oblivion. "I will kill you this time!" Roxas' voice was louder than before, the boy close to screaming the words and putting emphasis on one of them. He glared at Smith, his eyebrows furrowed and his teeth gritted once he finished speaking.

OOC: I gotta go. See you later.

 

Namine flinched at Roxas' scream, the girl hearing fierceness behind them. But still, she understood that he needed to get out his anger. This time, at least she wasn't frightened by it. She knew that rage would never be focused against her.

Smith furrowed his eyebrows at Roxas' scream, the man holding Roxas' glare. "If it's a fight you want," he started, "...it's a fight you'll get." He held out one hand, summoning his dark blade into his right hand.

Roxas tightened his grip on his weapons in either of his hands, the tension in the room being joined by something else; savageness. This wasn't going to be easy, Roxas knew that before he even arrived. But he was ready. He was going to make Smith pay for all the pain he had caused--to Namine, Sora, Kairi, and him.

 

Sora had appeared during the end of the conversation, hearing Roxas' shout. Now, the brunette stood in the doorway. Nobody seemed to have noticed him, though, not even Smith. He shifted his gaze to Namine and Roxas before looking over at Kairi, who was standing out in the open. He was concerned for her safety, but he felt as if he would put her in more danger if he went in.

Smith tightly gripped his weapon, holding it up in front of him. His dark blade reeked of evil, which could only match the person who held the weapon. The man glared at Roxas, his orange-yellow eyes staying on the blond boy.

Namine bit her lip lightly as she gazed at the ground. After a moment, however, she noticed something new out of the corner of her eye. She looked up, seeing Sora standing in the doorway.

 

Roxas gritted his teeth together, exhaling a silent, angry breath through his teeth. His hands flexed over the hilts of the blades in his grasp, his fingers curling and then uncurling around them as he stared at the man. He was unaware of the boy at the broken doorway, his focus on protecting Namine and getting rid of Smith, someone he loathed more than humanly possible.

Kairi's eyes flitted back and forth between Smith and Roxas, the room filled with so much tension that Kairi was a little afraid to breathe. A small movement caught her attention out of the corner of her eye, and she turned her head slightly in caution, her indigo eyes falling on Sora at the door.

 

Sora met Kairi's eyes from a distance, and he was thankful that she had looked over. But that wasn't the only gaze he felt on him... he turned his gaze to Namine, seeing her looking at him as well. Since his Keyblade was gone, he softly brought up one hand, motioning for both girls to come out into the hall.

Namine saw Sora's movement, and she understood what he was asking. She looked up at Roxas one last time, biting her lip lightly. In a way, she did want to leave this area, since she knew Roxas had to fight. She cautiously came out from behind him, starting toward the doorway.

 

Kairi glanced over at Smith in silence, hesitating a little. But she looked back at Sora, very quietly and carefully starting to make her way over to him at the doorway.

Roxas curled his fingers tightly around Oathkeeper and Oblivion again, readying himself for battle. This was solely his and Smith's fight, and he knew that he had to be the one to finish him off. Roxas kept his eyes locked on Smith, though he did sense movement from behind him.
