Kingdom Hearts- FFM V3!

Smith glared at Namine for a moment, tightening his grip on his weapon. So, the girl still had some guts. He had to give her credit, it was hard to completely break her down. But he wasn't done yet... He stood still for a moment, considering his actions. "Why should I stop for you?" he asked her in a dark tone, not removing his stare off of her.

Namine felt some of her bravery slip away, but she answered the question anyway. "Haven't you done enough already?" she said through grit teeth, holding back anger as well as a desire to voice her fear. "You got me involved in this; me, not Sora. Leave him alone."

Smith was surprised at Namine's response, and it only proved his early thoughts; he hadn't done enough to hurt her. But she did have a point, he should be taking his anger out on her, not on Sora. "Only for you," he responded, desummoning his blade. "Only for you, my precious little witch."

Namine was surprised at his response. No; surprised was an understatement. She was shocked. But she was even more shocked when Smith brought his right hand up, smacking her hard on the side of the face. She gasped and fell to the ground, the girl letting her tear filled eyes wander up to the man as her eyebrows furrowed in pain and fright.

"I won't hurt him, but I'm not leaving him either." Smith stated with a smug smirk, taking a few steps around Namine and bending down to pick up the brunette whom he had killed. He didn't want a dead body in the room, so disposing of it would work just fine. "But know this," Smith continued, throwing Sora over one shoulder as he looked over at the girl. "You're going to be the one who pays for going against me."

 

Roxas sucked in a breath through gritted teeth, his knuckles turning white from being so tight. No...Sora couldn't have-- But...that means-- Namine...she's-- None of these thoughts could be completed in Roxas' mind, his anger seeming to stop it as it grew even more inside him.

Kairi took in a breath, just now being aware that she had been holding it. "Roxas..." she started, but trailed off. Was he...shaking?

"We have to go," Roxas started, no longer speaking through his teeth, though his head stayed down. "We have to go to the warehouse... Smith went back on his word, and now we know that he's only luring us to him. He can't just meet halfway!" Roxas ended up screaming the last part, the boy having turned and summoned Oblivion simultaneously, slashing at a trashcan right next to him. He ended up slicing the top right off of it, his Keyblade cutting right through it. Roxas didn't do anything about it, just staring at it as anger seethed within him.

 

Namine bit her lip lightly, starting to prop herself up as she watched Smith exit the room with her other friend. No, Sora. He couldn't be-- Namine let the thought trail off, not wanting to finish it. But reality sunk in anyway, despite that fact. She felt a few tears her eyes as she heard the door slam behind the evil man, the girl alone again. That wouldn't last for long; she was sure of that. Smith said she was pay, and she believed him. He was truely going to make her suffer. But she didn't regret her actions; not yet. If she had seen Sora get hurt even worse for her...she couldn't have handled it.

 

Kairi stepped back slightly when Roxas suddenly swiped at the bin next to them, the girl not expecting that at all. He was really upset, infuriated. She kept her violet-blue eyes on him as he breathed heavily, gripping Oblivion tightly in his right hand as he stared down at the now shorter trash can. "Roxas..." she started again.

Roxas blinked, turning around slowly to look at the girl who had spoken. He caught the look on her face, and he sighed, diverting his gaze away from hers as he looked down at the concrete. "...Sorry," he apologized softly.

Kairi blinked once, her eyes staying on the boy though he had looked away. "Forget about it; right now, we need to get to Namine...and Sora..." If he's alright, she thought internally as she lowered her gaze slightly. But her eyes flitted back up when Roxas moved, her eyes meeting his again. Determination was very evident in his piercing blue orbs.

Roxas nodded once as he looked at Kairi. She was right; there was no point in wasting his anger here when he needed to get to the warehouse that was only a block or two away. "Right. There's no time to lose," he said in a calm voice, though his anger was being held inside. He held Kairi's gaze for a moment before he desummoned Oblivion and started to run, Kairi meeting his pace when he went by her.

 

Namine sat herself up completely, scanning the room. It was completely barren except for the ropes and tape that sat in the corner by the pole. There were no windows, so that meant she couldn't escape even though she was free. But, the door...was it locked? The question went unanswered when she saw another figure walk in, and she immediatly recognized the strong, tall, dark man. Smith. And he was glaring directly at her, staring daggers. Her eyes widened as she backed herself up slightly, seeing him coming toward her.

Smith approached the girl, his left hand clenched into a fist as he glared at her. Now that the other matter was settled, it was time for him to finish what he started. He wasn't going to kill her; he had too much to take out on her still. He came up to her and reached down, grabbing her by the arm and forcefully pulling her to her feet.

Namine cried out in surprise, Smith's grip on her arm very tight as she felt herself being pulled up. Her soft blue eyes held fear as her eyes locked with his, and she couldn't tear herself away from their evil, orange depths.

Smith held onto her tightly despite the fact that she was supporting herself now, keeping his right hand on her arm. He brought up his left hand and gently tapped her cheek several times before releasing some more strength, his light taps turning into small slaps and then escalating into one, loud, painful slap. The girl in front of him cried out again, but he ignored it, gripping her more roughly as he glared at her. He hated her so much; this girl wouldn't break as easily as he expected. But he wouldn't give up until he had accomplished that.

 

Roxas ran down the empty street, Kairi only a step behind him. "It's not that far away from here," he said over his shoulder. "We should be there in only a few minutes." That meant he could finish this thing...once and for all.

Kairi didn't say anything, only following him. She was glad she had worn her sneakers, though it was pretty obvious that she would have had to anyway, considering the situation they were in. She ran with Roxas, passing buildings quickly.

 

"Now," Smith started, pulling his hand back to his side as he glared at the blonde girl, "are you going to be a good girl and let me tie you up, or are you going to make this hard?"

Namine stayed silent, unable to get any words out. Not only was she in shock from Sora's apparent death, but she was also frightened so badly that she couldn't answer. She looked away, figuring that would show her decision to go without a fight.

"Wait a minute...I just remembered, I don't care what you think! Silly me," Smith smirked smuggly and raised his hand which had suddenly turned into a fist. He hit Namine hard on the jaw, and he felt her legs give out from underneath her. But because of his strong grip on her, she didn't fall completely. He grinned down at her as he dragged her back over to the pole so he could tie her up.

Namine shut her eyes in pain and sorrow, the girl feeling herself being pulled across the room. Her head was pounding with pain, but the emotions inside her heart were much, much worse than the physical pain. She was alone now, without hope. There was no hope now. She was faintly aware that she was being sat down in the floor again, and then she felt her hands being tied behind the pole once more. Smith took the same action as before, tieing her legs with rope and putting more duct tape over her mouth. But she had nothing to say, anyway. It was over now.

 

As Kairi ran over an intersection just behind Roxas, she got this feeling in her heart. It was a bad feeling, very bad. It felt...empty. And she suddenly felt scared; she had never had that feeling before. It was as if some part of her were missing. Kairi fought off the urge to question it, knowing she would get side-tracked. And right now, she couldn't be.

Roxas kept up his pace as he ran down the middle of 6th Street, not slowing even for a second. He turned a corner, knowing Kairi was right on his heels. They were only a block away from the warehouse now, and Roxas knew that the adrenaline within him wasn't going to leave until this was over...for good.

 

Namine slowly opened her eyes when she heard a soft noise in front of her. Her soft blue eyes found the man kneeling down in front of her, and he looked pleased with himself.

"Do you realize what you've done now?" Smith asked her in a soft tone, holding her gaze with one of his own. "Because of you, your friend is dead. And for no reason at all, since you're not worth that much. You're too much of a burden, too vulnerable. And even when someone comes to your rescue, you make them get hurt. Not only Sora, but Roxas as well."

Namine felt surprised at the accusations, but after a brief moment she remembered that Smith had confessed to watching her. So he knew what he was talking about. Namine also knew that he was right.

"Nobody can save you now," he said softly, raising one hand and setting it on Namine's cheek. The girl turned her head away, but his hand stayed there anyway. "And nobody will want to. Especially after they find out what you've caused."

 

Roxas sprinted down the street, seeing a more shady area of the city. That meant the warehouse was even closer, which also meant Roxas was that much closer to Smith. He glanced over his shoulder to make sure Kairi was still with him, though two sets of feet hitting the pavement were heard.

Kairi met Roxas' eyes, but didn't say anything, not that she could. She was focusing her breathing so she could keep up with pace, and she was actually surprised that she had been keeping up with him. Regardless, she kept running, her eyes leaving Roxas' when she noticed a slightly darker area of the city approaching.

 

I already know all that! Namine thought miserably, her eyes shutting as her eyebrows furrowed. Just leave me alone!I don't need you to point all this out to me. You think I don't feel bad enough about losing my friend? You think I don't feel pain from your words?! Namine felt her emotions going wild, the girl starting to cry softly. She knew that Smith was trying to hurt her, and he was doing a very good job. Namine knew that she should have tuned him out, but that was hard to do when he was speaking the truth.

 

Roxas turned his attention forward again when Kairi looked away, the two of them reaching the shadiest place in the whole city; the outskirts. He saw a light on up ahead, and he knew what that place was--the warehouse. Namine...just hold on. I'm coming, he thought internally as he grew closer to the place with every step.

 

Namine inhaled shakily through her nose before releasing it, a soft sob escaping her lips. The tears continued to run down her face, and she was thankful when she felt Smith's hand being removed.

Smith chuckled evilly as he started to stand himself down, his eyes staying on the girl. Yes, he was doing a good job now. He was pleased with himself; breaking the girl had taken some time, but now that it was done, he was feeling very sucessful.

 

The warehouse quickly approached and Roxas slowed his pace slightly. He turned his head, now running beside Kairi. "We have to be very careful; Smith is probably already expecting us," he explained as he ran.

Kairi nodded slightly. "Okay," she answered. She watched the blond nod and then noticed their run slow slightly as they approached the warehouse.

 

Namine kept her eyes shut, the tears continuing to flow. Smith was right...about everything. What was going on..it was all her fault.

 

The two teenagers' run slowed even more as they reached the warehouse. Roxas silently snuck up alongside the warehouse's outside wall, his jog slowing to a stealthy walk. He glanced over at Kairi, seeing her following him. He stayed close to her as he led the way, his form being shone in the light above the warehouse. Roxas' eyes spotted the door and he held out a hand for Kairi to stop where she was, he being only a few feet from it anyway.

 

Smith continued to stare at Namine, a small smile on his lips. Finally. Finally he had succeeded in breaking her. In his eyes, even at this point he was a winner. He was also sure that the other two were on their way here, since he never showed up for the exchange. Let them come, he mused, knowing that the rest of this mission was going be a sinch. After all, the Princess was being delivered right to him. There was no way this plan could backfire on him now.

 

Roxas caught Kairi stop out of the corner of his eye, and he kept walking toward the door. A light suddenly flashed, Oblivion materializing in his right hand. Roxas stopped next to the door, cautiously reaching a hand to the knob. He turned it, noticing that it was unlocked. He slowly pushed the door open, peeking inside to be sure it was safe. Roxas didn't spot anything harmful in the hallway, and he turned to Kairi, letting his hand leave the doorknob as he waved her over.

Kairi obeyed the demand, walking toward Roxas in silence. She was a little nervous, but the constant reminder that she needed to be brave kept her going strong. They had to help Namine...and Sora, if it wasn't too late.

Roxas pushed the door open completely, Keyblade ready in case anything occured. Nothing did, and he started forward, Kairi following him close behind. This place reeked of bad memories that he definitely didn't want to re-live today. But he was determined to end Smith...so then he would never have to again.

 

Smith suddenly remembered something, and he walked over to the door, turning the lock on it to keep others out. Though he was hardly worried about that; Roxas was going to die along with his best friend, and the Princess was going to be his. But leaving the door unlocked seemed too boring, and he decided to spice things up a little bit and have fun with the victims of his cruel game.

 

Roxas made sure to stay ahead of Kairi, but also close to her, in case Smith had any tricks up his sleeve. Gosh, Roxas couldn't wait to reach him. Roxas was going to show Smith that he wasn't afraid of him, and that this time, things would be settled...forever. As he walked down the hallway silently and on guard, he noticed that a few doors were already open. Perhaps Sora had checked those rooms? Even if he hadn't, Roxas knew that even Smith was smart enough to keep a door shut, especially when it involved something like this.
