Kingdom Hearts- FFM V3!

Namine sniffled once, her breath shaky as she cried. The tears streamed down her face at a rapid pace, running over the paths that her previous tears had taken earlier that night--or was it morning? It didn't matter to Namine anymore, the girl too broken to really care what happened to her at that moment.

 

Kairi followed Roxas to the front of the house as they cut across the yard. As they passed it, she turned her head, getting one last look before she left. Sora...I'm sorry...

Roxas turned his head, glancing over his shoulder at the girl slightly behind him. He stopped, letting her walk a few steps forward before he put a hand on her shoulder, stopping her. Kairi turned her head, and he met her eyes. "Hey, it's going to be okay," he assured her. "Just trust me." He watched her nod and he let his hand fall off her shoulder. "Alright, let's get going," he said, jerking his head toward the direction they were heading before. Roxas watched as Kairi started walking again, and he looked at Sora's house for a second before following her.

 

Sora rolled over in his sleep, suddenly having a feeling of despair in his heart for some inexplainable reason.

 

Kairi didn't look back as they started down the road, slowly starting to get her bravery back. But as she and Roxas started toward their destination, she started to wonder what time it was. "How much time do we have?" she questioned, turning her head to the blond beside her.

Roxas grabbed his phone out of his pocket and flipped it open. Glancing at the time on his phone, he flipped it shut and put it back in his pocket as he spoke. "Close to an hour, but getting there from here will take some time," he said. At the mention of that, he closed his eyes for a second. Namine...She would be back with him soon.

 

OOC: Do you mind if we do a small time gap? If you do, I'll change my post.

Sora slept for a little while longer until he woke up, feeling slightly dazed. He immediatly knew that something was wrong; there wasn't an impending threat on him or anyone in the house, but something definitly wasn't right. Kairi, Sora automatically thought of her name, swinging his legs off the edge of the bed and rising to his feet, quickly exiting his room and going into the hall. He took a few steps before he stopped in front of the guest bedroom, silently pulling the door open. He immediatly noticed moonlight pouring in through the open window. Wait, open window...? "No," Sora whispered, his eyes wide as he rushed over to the window and looked outside, though there was nothing out there. He was alone.

 

OOC: Nope. =) I was actually going to suggest it. xD

Roxas and Kairi had covered some ground ever since they left, now in the middle of the city and growing closer to the meeting place, where the exchange would occur. However, they had picked up the pace a little after leaving Sora's house, and now they walked pretty fast through the streets and along the sidewalks. Even if they didn't meet Smith for a little while, Roxas didn't want to risk anything. He was going to be early for this "exchange".

 

Sora let out a sound of disgust, lifting a hand and running it through his spiky hair. "No, no this can't be happening," Sora said aloud, his voice quiet as he looked out the window, his eyes darting for any sign of Kairi. He wasn't worried about her safety at this point, since now he recognized what had happend. She had left with Roxas for the exchange. Sora felt sorrow enter his heart as he started to pace the room, feeling hurt at Kairi's betrayal. She had said she understood that this was too dangerous, and yet she went anyway, working behind Sora's back. He had never felt so betrayed before in his whole life.

 

As Kairi walked beside Roxas along the empty streets of NYC, she suddenly felt an ache in her heart, which caused her to slow her pace. She gasped slightly, not having this emotion in a long time.

Roxas turned at the gasp, his eyes widening slightly when he saw the expression on Kairi's face. "What's wrong?" he asked, taking a few steps toward her when she stopped.

Kairi felt a strong pang of sorrow in her heart, but it didn't belong to her. It was stronger than the sadness she was already feeling, and it hurt her to know who was the source. "Sora..." she said softly, her voice showing her feelings at that moment; sadness and a bit of pain--emotional pain.

 

Sora paced the room, keeping one hand on the side of his face as he thought things over. Kairi had directly gone against him, decieving him into letting her sleep in her own room so she could easily get out and meet with Roxas. It all made sense now--perfect sense. And it killed him to know the truth: he had been lied to by the one person he trusted to always tell him the truth. It was absolutely the most miserable feeling in the world.

 

OOC: Wow...you're making me feel pretty bad. xD

"He knows..." Kairi assumed as she lifted her eyes to Roxas. I'm hurting him...she thought in sadness, knowing by the feeling in her heart that was true. "I can feel it..."

Roxas' eyes widened slightly, but they went back to normal as he looked at the girl. He hated to say it, he really did, but... "Kairi...we have to keep going," he said softly, though his voice held a little sadness itself, seeing his good friend like this.

 

OOC: That's what I was going for. ;D

Sora stopped pacing, suddenly realizing something much more serious than his own emotions; Kairi's safety. She was with Roxas now, walking into the hands of Smith. Stupid, evil, cunning Smith... Sora's eyes widened at the thought. Maybe he couldn't stop Kairi from going to the exchange, but wasn't there something he could do? Now that Kairi was involved, he was going to work as well. He couldn't go to the exchange; he recognized that. But, what if he could help Namine somehow...?

 

OOC: Well then... xD

Kairi nodded once, knowing that she couldn't stop when she was already going. As much as it hurt to keep going because of her heart, she had to push through. Namine needed her. But...Sora...

Roxas bit his lip as he put a hand on Kairi's shoulder supportively. He knew that this was his fault...but...Namine. She needed him, now more than ever.

OOC: Gotta go for the night. See you later!

 

Sora rembered back to something Roxas had said the other night, something about a rescue. Could that possibly work out? Soon, Smith was going to be preoccupied with the "exchange", that left Namine alone..right? Smith obviously wasn't going to keep his word, Namine was not going to be a part of any exchange. Which meant that she would be by herself at the warehouse. Perhaps he could get in there, take away Smith's advantage, and stop the exchange before it even happend. The brunette finished thinking everything through, knowing it was the only option he had now. He turned to exit the guest bedroom, heading toward his room to get his cell phone.

OOC: Okay, see you tomorrow!

 

With Roxas' support, Kairi pushed herself forward, the girl starting to head toward their destination. She had to help Namine...

Roxas' hand came off Kairi's shoulder and he followed her. He exhaled a breath, letting his eyes fall on the dark sidewalk they traveled on.

 

Sora entered his bedroom, walking a few steps before approaching his nightstand. He picked up his cell phone and flipped it open, speed dialling Roxas' number without thought. While holding it up to his ear, he walked to his closet, quickly opening it and pulling out his sneakers. He knew what he had to do, but first, he had to get an "okay" from Roxas.

 

Roxas' eyebrows furrowed slightly when he heard his phone going off, not really expecting a call at the moment. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone, checking the caller ID. "Sora?" he wondered out loud.

Kairi turned at the name, her eyes showing her curiosity. "What? He's calling you?" she asked.

Roxas looked up at the redhead as his phone rang once more and nodded. He looked back down at his phone and then flipped it open, bringing it to his ear. "Hello?"

 

"Where are you guys right now?" Sora asked into the phone, sitting himself down on the bed as he slipped on one of his shoes. His voice was unreadable, the teen trying to hide the hurt and betrayal he felt inside. At that moment, he knew he couldn't afford to get wrapped up in emotions; he had to help...somehow.

 

Roxas looked away from Kairi's gaze that she had on him and shifted his eyes to one of the street signs that was readable in the light that came from one of the streetlights. "The corner of Jefferson and 10th Street. Why?" he asked, his eyebrows furrowing as he shifted his eyes away from the sign. Sora's tone was indecipherable, so Roxas wasn't sure what was running through the boy's mind.

Kairi watched Roxas in pure curiosity, wondering why Sora had called and what Roxas had told their location for.

 

"I have an idea of how we can get out of this with both of us happy," Sora started simply. "You guys are supposed to meet Smith in about half an hour or so, right?" Sora didn't wait for an answer, feeling impatient as he slipped on his other shoe. "Smith will be distracted with you guys, and since he'll probably keep Namine at some other location, she'll be alone. What if I went and got her out during that time gap?" The words left his lips in a rush, the brunette realizing how short on time they were. If he had just woken up fifteen minutes earlier, things would have worked much better.

 

Roxas stared at the street in front of him for a moment, contemplating Sora's hurried words. Wait. So...Smith wasn't going to bring Namine at all? Is that what Sora was talking about? If that was the case, then why would Smith call it an "exchange" in the first place? Roxas grit his teeth together slightly; he should have known better than to believe anything Smith said. Sora was going to go free Namine while Roxas handled Smith? But...wait a second... "Don't you remember? I told you before that Smith is smarter than we think. What if he expects something like that?" If he did...that would only put Namine in more danger, and Roxas couldn't have that...he just couldn't.

Kairi furrowed her brows slightly, confused. What if Smith expects what? She didn't like not being informed on these things, but she knew that Roxas would explain once he was off the phone with Sora. So Kairi decided to wait patiently for the information.
