Sora kept his ocean-blue eyes on Kairi, a soft smile staying on his lips as he gazed up at the girl. The silence was peaceful, and he figured it was a good way to end the night before they both headed to bed.

Kairi's small smile remained on her face, the girl starting to exit Sora's room as she lightly waved at him. This was the best way to end things before she left...and waited for when Roxas would come for her.

Sora smiled faintly, raising one hand and casually waving goodnight to Kairi. She'd be safe here tonight, he was sure of that.

Kairi turned her head and looked ahead of her as she brought the hand she had waved with to her face, tucking a few strands of her hair behind her ear as she approached the door. She left Sora's room, turning to the right and heading farther down the hall to the guest bedroom.

Sora stayed on his bed for a moment before turning his gaze to the wall, staring at that again. He hoped that Kairi would get a good night's sleep, and he also hoped that things would work out with Roxas and Namine. That thought sobered him as he reached over, turning the light switch and shutting off the light before he brought his legs onto the bed and laid himself down on top of the bed sheets.

Kairi continued down the hall until she reached the guest bedroom at the end of it, opening the door and then shutting it behind her. She walked over to the bed in the room and sat down on the side of it, staring blankly at one of the windows in the room. She suddenly felt a vibration in her pocket, and she curiously grabbed her phone from the back pocket of her jeans. Flipping the phone open, Kairi found that she had a new text message. She clicked "Read" and started to look at the message, discovering it was from Roxas. "i'll come 4 u soon. be ready." The message only brought back the thoughts of what Kairi was about to do, but she replied to the message anyway. "ok. in the guest bedrm. come 2 the window wen u get here," she requested before she sent the text, closing her phone and lying back on the bed.

    OOC: Okay.

    A couple hours later...

Kairi stared at the ceiling as she lied on the bed in the guest bedroom, her knees bent as her hands rested on her stomach. She had been thinking over the things that could happen with all of this within the last few hours, and those thoughts really didn't help much. Kairi was getting a little scared...and nervous. But she had to remember that Roxas had promised Sora he wouldn't let her out of his sight, and she knew that Roxas wouldn't break that promise, nor actually go through with the exchange. He had to have a plan in mind.

Roxas walked along Sora's street silently, getting ready to go get Kairi so they could get Namine back. Gosh, he loved that girl so much; she had been on his mind ever since that call...and the argument with Sora. Within the last few hours, he had actually summoned his Keyblades to his hands and swung at a tree nearby (but in a deserted area) to get rid of some of that anger as it continued to grow inside him. Smith was going to pay for what he had done, Roxas would be sure of that.

After staying awake for about another half hour, Sora had fallen into a light state of sleep, the teen lying alone in his bedroom. If any loud sounds would have come from anywhere in the house, he would have been aware enough to notice it. He had no intention of letting anything bad happen to Kairi during the night, and even if he was asleep, he was going to be aware enough to keep that promise so that if anything was going on, he would wake up quickly enough to help.

After Smith had first spoken to her, Namine had closed her eyes and started to cry. But then when she looked up a few moments later, she realized she was alone once again. But then...over the past few hours, she hadn't been alone. No, not at all. Smith had returned, and he had sat himself down in a chair only a few feet away from her, staring at her most of the time or glaring at the door. Everytime the blonde girl moved or made any sound, Smith always got out of his seat and walked over to her, either giving her a rough kick or a slap on the face. It was the same thing now, as she started to doze off again. Her eyes were shut, and her head started to droop slightly when BAM! she was smacked in the face. She opened her eyes immediatly, seeing Smith kneeling in front of her with anger and evil intention burning in his yellow eyes.

Where was Roxas anyway? It had been a few hours since their short text conversation. He said soon, but how soon was that? She was feeling different about this; she wanted him to hurry so they could get to Namine faster, because Kairi felt in her heart that something was wrong. On the other hand, she wanted him to take a little longer, that way she had a little more time in the safety of Sora's home.

Roxas' eyes caught onto Sora's house, every light shut off. He walked silently along the street, the road deserted. The sooner he got Kairi, the sooner they could get to Namine and get her back. Roxas cut across the street as the light night breeze brushed his spikes. Just hold on for a little longer, Namine, he begged internally. Just a little longer...

"What's the matter, girl?" Smith questioned, staying at eye level with Namine. "Upset that your Nobody hasn't come to rescue you yet?" The man chuckled darkly, enjoying the look of fear in Namine's eyes. "Soon, the princess will be delivered into my hands, and I'll be victorious. But really, I've already won. Revenge is quite pleasureful, my dear."

Namine turned her head away, closing her eyes tightly at the man's dark words. No, he can't win! Namine thought desperately, tears threatening to reappear behind her closed eyes. If he got Kairi, then her best friend was going to be taken away forever. And it was all Namine's fault!

Kairi sighed softly, waiting patiently. She didn't want to leave the safety of Sora's protection, but she knew it had to be done in order to save Namine. She wasn't selfish, and therefore would do whatever it took to help her best friend. But at the same time, when Sora found out, she knew that she would hurt him. And Kairi really didn't want that. But it had to be done, no matter what.

Roxas slowly and stealthily approached Sora's yard, going around the side of the dark house. Kairi had said the guest bedroom, and he knew where it was, so he headed in that direction.

"If your boyfriend thought you were worth rescueing," Smith started, his smug attitude coming through in his voice. "He would have come by now. You may be a cute little girl, but now you apparently have no worth. At least not in Roxas' eyes, anyway."

Namine bit her lip, tears coming in behind her closed eyelids. She knew that Roxas cared for her deeply, and she was sure he was doing everything he could to rescue her but...but where was he? It had been hours since she was taken. What if something was wrong? Or maybe...maybe he had given up on her.

Smith chuckled at Namine's expression the man reaching one hand forward and lightly turning Namine's head toward him. He saw the girl's light blue eyes flicker open, and he gazed into them as he continued speaking. "Roxas may be a good guy, and he probably will try to help you, simply because he has made promises to protect you. But do you think he will really act out of love anymore? No, his love for you fades everytime you are in danger. He doesn't like having a girlfriend who always gets herself in trouble. You're just a burden to him now; you know that, don't you?"

Kairi gnawed on her lip as she turned her head toward the window. She was getting even more nervous now, but all she could do was wait. Roxas was coming; he had to be by now. What time is it anyway? I know it's early in the morning, very early. And the exchange is supposed to happen soo-- A shadow suddenly appeared from the window, pausing Kairi's thoughts. Her eyes widened slightly, and then she saw a blond figure, even in the lack of light.

Roxas peered through the window, narrowing his eyes so he could see through it as he cupped his hands around his eyes. Blocking out the moonlight, he could see a figure in the window, and he spotted the red hair. His eyes widened slightly and then he tapped lightly on the window. "Psst! Kairi," he said softly, but loud enough for the girl to hear inside the room.

"Leave me alone," Namine murmered from behind the tape, her words coming out in a way that was impossible to understand. She kept her fear filled eyes on Smith, tears in the rims of her light blue orbs.

"How can anybody love a girl so helpless?" Smith pressed, bringing his hand off Namine's cheek and speaking to her plainly. "You know I speak the truth, for you've thought about this as well. I've been watching you, you see. Hiding in the shadows, watching your every move to find out what'll make you break." He paused for a moment, holding her gaze. "You are falling apart now, aren't you?"

Namine bit down on her lip harder, her eyes quivering as more tears entered her eyes. One escaped, and then a few others followed close behind. She was breaking under Smith's words, the girl unable to stop herself from taking them to heart and believing them. It's all true, she thought miserably. I'm so helpless all the time, and Roxas always has to protect me from everything. How can he possibly love me?! Namine chocked back a sob, a faint, muffled noise leaving her lips as her tears came more heavily.

Kairi got up from her spot on the bed quickly, making her way to the window as she walked quickly but silently. She caught Roxas' eye as she approached it, and she opened it quietly...thankfully.

Roxas looked at Kairi from his place on the ground, the girl still inside. "You ready?" he whispered. He watched her nod and he brought up a hand motioning for her to hurry. "C'mon, let's go," he said softly. He held out his hand toward her to make sure she got out safely.

Kairi looked at Roxas' hand and inhaled through her nose to calm her nerves. She ducked her head out the window and brought one of her legs over as she took the boy's hand. She swung her other leg over the window ledge, feeling Roxas' other hand grab one of her arms to help her down.

Smith nodded slightly, not removing his gaze from Namine. "Yes, I thought so," the man spoke more quietly, his voice calm as he spoke the words he considered to be truth. No, there is no truth in anything anymore, Smith thought to himself. The truth is whatever I make it to be. He looked into Namine's eyes, seeing sorrow. "A girl like you needs unconditional love--somebody that will love you despite all the trouble and pain you cause them. A Nobody such as Roxas, who only has part of a heart, cannot love you in that way. And truth be told, you yourself cannot give love in that way either. Your love is only temporary, and it will never be what you consider to be true love."

Smith's form turned blurry as Namine lowered her gaze to the floor, tears pouring out of her eyes as she ignored Smith's gaze. If I can't love Roxas fully, then what's the point in any of this? Namine wondered, misery in her heart. Roxas meant everything to her, but if she couldn't truely love him, then what? Everything she knew depended upon that love, and if that wasn't as firm as she thought it was, then the rest of her life would collapse; it was as simple as that.

Roxas helped Kairi down, her feet touching the grass. His eyes met hers and he nodded. "Let's go," he stated quietly, letting his hands come off her arm and her hand. Stay strong, Namine. We're coming...

Kairi nodded once at Roxas' words, and she silently started to follow him away from the window and through the yard, the girl leaving the guest bedroom window open. She walked beside the boy, though he was slightly ahead of her as he led the way.
