"Mr. Shen gave them to us."

 

"Shen!"

"But we got separated from him when the Heartless attacked." Aerith held her staff close.

 

"I'm sure he'll be okay. He's lived through worse."

 

"Anyway, lets go you two back to town." Hikari smiled and Aerith nodded.

 

"I agree. We could use some rest."

 

Aerith took her mother's hand and walked back to town. Braska smiled, Jecht scowled. Mione sighed.

 

Meanwhile in the emperors world

"commence operation" Emperor said and an army of soldiers ran into town destroying houses and killed those who resisted

 

Lucrecia and Michael followed them.

 

"Braska, what's with Jecht?"

"Oh, he's fine."

 

"He looks like he's being a mopey jerk."

 

Hikari smiled and sighed. "I was really worried about you two."

 

"I was worried too."

 

"We're sorry, Mother. I guess since we didn't have weapons yet, we were easy to capture." Aerith hang her head. Braska smiled, "In the maze, you seemed brave to us."

 

"That just showed how much of a coward that Versago really is, picking on two defenseless girls."

 

"I wanted to shout to Mother to help, but I was too scared....."

 

"It's okay, sis."

 

Just then someone was standing up ahead of them

 

"Aerith, Lucrecia, stay here. Your father and I will check this out." Hikari grabbed Micheal's hand.

 

Michael kept one hand on his sword as he followed her.

 

Up ahead stood none other than Shen himself. He was extreamly injured but he was standing fine. He stood there with his eyes closed and a smile was on his face
