'I'll be alright, Micheal.' Hikari kissed him when she placed his heart back in his body.

 

Shen blocked the blow easily

 

The demon moved to attack again, but a bright light surrounded him.

"No....this can't be possible! You're supposed to be dead!" The demon said before the room was flooded with light. When the light cleared, the demon was staring at Michael.

 

Penelo appeared in the room and turned to Aerith. She simply pointed to Hikari and Aerith nodded. She went to her mother's body and placed the heart inside. She closed her heart and sat up.

 

Michael stabbed the demon.

"But...how?"

"You don't need to know." Michael said as he pulled his sword out of the demon.

 

Hikari smiled and Miko sighed.

 

Michael breathed a sigh of relief as the demon disappeared.

"This time, I'm finally free of that demon's hold on me."

 

"Your highness, welcome back to the light." Miko smiled at Hikari.

"Good to be back, Miko." Hikari smiled back.

 

"It feels good to be alive again."

 

Hikari smiled and looked out the window. "Being in the realm of light again never felt so good."

 

Michael put his arms around her and kissed her.

 

"Mother, Father, please explain what happened!" Aerith said, Penelo looked at them and sighed.

 

"Do you want to start off, dear?"

 

"I'll start, your highness." Miko cleared her throat. "When Kuja attacked us in the garden and I entered the darkness, Lady Hikari explained everything. The Silver Dragoon and the pendant only gave her her body back. Her heart remained in the darkness for the exchange of her daughters' hearts. Only until her beloved and a person by pure kindness entered the darkness, she could return. The person by pure kindness was Penelo."

 

"And so here we are."

 

"You wanted to stay in the darkness in exchange for mine and sister's hearts, Mother?" Aerith cried and hugged her mother.

 

"It was the only way for you two to be born."

 

"Alright she looked like a cheerful person, her body was just a heartless shell." Miko sighed.

 

"But now she's back to her former self."

Lucrecia took Saya to Lucia's room. Lucia started to play with Saya.

 

Hikari walked toward Miko and smiled. "I'm proud of you, Miko. You kept your promise not to tell anyone until Micheal and Penelo entered the darkness." Miko simply bowed.
