Below is the category list thus far. Within this thread, you can suggest potential categories for this year's awards. Please keep in mind that category suggestions should be accessible by many members--use your better judgement.

Newly added categories will be listed in blue, and rejected submissions will be listed under 'rejected' (naturally). Please check the rejected list before suggesting to make sure it's not already been rejected. Nominations are not open during this time.

We are making an effort to condense the category list this year so if there are categories you feel could go, feel free to suggest that.

I have a suggestion for Roleplaying Nominations.
Most Missed Roleplay.

@Roxam for Best Category Name Suggester 2016.

 

The only thing about it being moment is that it allows non-combat based rps to join in and doesn't restrict the options as much. The current name also allows like shocking reveals and romantic moments as well, not all rps have "boss battles". Just that all that were nominated last year were battles, doesn't mean always will. That said, I don't rp any more so your suggestion might be the best option, I just wanted to point that out. I suppose with how it is being used then maybe "Best/Most memorable roleplay event" might be more appropriate, without excluding the events that don't involve fighting.


Also since discord is officially connected to khv, we could technically have discord related ones in the awards but other than a "Most active/Do you even sleep?" one, I have no idea what they could be.

 

I really like the idea of discord categories and I'd like to 2nd a Most active/Do you even sleep category.

 

If this was already reverted, then ignore me.

Back in 2013, it was decided that only people who self-nominated would be chosen for the "Worst" awards, believing that only including people who nominate themselves would decrease drama. What actually happened was the opposite. We had more drama about the Worst awards than I've ever seen; some people got banned, and some people even left the site voluntarily.

Since the attempt to lower drama actually made it worse, I propose we go back to normal nominations, including for Worst categories.

 

I would like to third the vote to have Discord categories.

Most Popular Game

This could be a thread from the playground, or it could be the fact that we've all been playing a ton of YGO lately, but just a game that we, as a community have been playing a lot together.

 

Can we please fix my horrible wording and rename "Most Likely Hero/Villain" to "Most Heroic/Villainous"

I agree with Midnight's reasoning, but I wouldn't be opposed to adding a Most memorable Boss Battle if it's something that's been regularly occuring throughout the RPA ( as you guys know, I am not the most active RPer v: )

Discord related ones would be good! Have to give the no to Most Active though, since that information is pretty cut and dry since we can all pull up the ranks. ;c

This was, I must've forgotten to update it in the post macro I have for the Awards threads, lol. Should be fixed shortly.

I can add it in as "Most Popular Forum Game"!

I was pretty much joking. (Not that he wouldn't make a good candidate, mind you.)

 

There were a few moments in last years' that weren't actual boss battles. You're heavily restricting which roleplays can make it into this category if it's simply a boss battle. While yes, there have been some awesome boss battles, there have been (in my opinion) just as many roleplays and moments in them without combat altogether that are deserving of this nomination.

 

How about something like 'Most Proactive'? I was thinking about possible discord based ones and I was thinking that many non-official events have been set-up by members such as town of salem games, cards against humanity, watching stuff as a group, YGO duels, karaoke and then on khv itself stuff like mafia and Nova's sheep game. Due to this I was wondering if one for the most proactive person who goes and sets these up would be good. Also along the same lines maybe something 'Best non-official event/game' for things set up by non-staff or just 'Best forum game' and 'Best discord event'.
