KH-Vids DeathNote Game 7.0 [Round 19]

I'm in. Just because I don't want to break my 17-in-a-row. Or now as it is 18-in-a-row.

 

We really need more people to start or this will be a very short game heh.

 

I think that the hype for this game kind of died. It seems like the amount of people from when we started.

 

I was hoping to save the game...

Well... it has more to do with the Shinigami's than the DKs.

It was only such a lame ass short live fad because the DK's took over the entire spamzone, there was littereally the whole first page was about us, and certain staff were saying they would start handing out warnings/bans to us...

I would say we won once staff literally has to shut us down...

And maybe you should choose your words more carefully when dealing with a shinigami "(insert hint at name here.)"

 

We're talking on how to introduce a few new elements in the game to kick it up some since we are used to the workings of the game.

Alright, well since no new takers really, we're going to work on the game a bit and do some updating before we begin the next game to hopefully change it some and give it more of an interesting twist. Stick around and all that jazz.

 

Well I have an idea of what could work out.

Kira can kil using usernames.

The catch? No one knows who is playing.

Allow me to explain. Everyone who wants to play must PM the Shinigami and tell them that they wish to play. Then the game begins. The Kira gets chosen as normal, and must kill one person per day, as an accusation must be done once per day.

However, Kira can only kill those he knows are against him. After all, Kira does not kill innocents. Therefore he must know who is playing and who isn't. He must present proof of the person being against him, whether it is a chat room or a revealing post. Anything can be considered proof, but every time the Kira screws up and mis-kills someone, the Shinigami posts a clue here.

To counterbalance Kira's new killing power, every person playing is allowed an Alias account. This alias is PMed to the Shinigami and the Shinigami is told the Alias' true identity. The Alias must be called Alias: [insert desired name here]. After each round, the alias' are deleted and made anew by the playing members. If Kira matches up an Alias with the actual member, he may kill the member.

An accusation is done in this thread, and it must be done by a person's real account. As such, this is bordering suicide if it is wrong.

Misas, Mikamis and owners of pages of the Death note are able to exist, but when they do, everyone is informed about what has happened. The Shinigami would post a message here saying "The Death Note has Passed on". The same rule applies to newcomers. If they wish to join, the Shinigami will announce that a new player joined.

The Shinigami shall keep a watch over how many people are playing, and actively record it in this thread.

Seem like a good idea? They have to hunt each other without knowing each other's identities.

And Pika, sounds to me that you are suggesting that we all have an alt account on the forum - it's not worth it just for this game, AND it is against forum rules at the same time. It's a very detailed idea you have, but we can't get to have things that other member's aren't allowed.

In all honesty, i'm intrigued by Pika's idea. Instead of a alternate account, what if we just had codenames for our account?

Example:

vegas = Shades

Kira is given a list of codenames similar to Near, Mello and Light but he must hunt down their real user name to be able to kill them. The shinigami knows the detecitves true username through a pm, detectives aren't allowed to change the codename till the round ends.

 

That's what I got when I read it. You aren't making a new account, just a codename to cover your identity that only the shinigami knows.

But I still don't get how else it's gonna be used other than a cover.

The game would actually hurt everthing, as the shinigami would have to post everthing his/her self, and the thread would die...

No thread = no game.

We could have the game done entirly via PM, but that would be very stressful considering the difficulty of attracting new members.

 

Cocohints: Well the Alts would be deleted once the round ended, and they would only be used for PM or posting in this thread. If we got permission from the mods/admins, it could work out. This is a forum. Not everything needs to be so damned Politically correct.

Shades: But how would the Kira get clues? If I were Kira, and I was given a random group of words and told to match them to members, I would be lost. The Alts need to be active to post here and exchange ideas.

ICSP: The thread would remain alive. The alts could post here if we got permission to create them. The thread would remain alive and it would be easy enough to understand what was going on.

There is no reason for the alts to do anything else. They could be limited to posting here. The mods could put them in a usergroup of their own, where they can only post in the premium area (For SPK) and in the spamzone. No posting threads anywhere and no posting outside the spamzone and premium area. They would not be allowed sigs or avvies, but they would be allowed to PM people. They would have a distinct user title of "Alias" and would be known to all mods and to the Kira.

So you see, it could work out if it were done right.

 

I think that it won't work on a forum that well and makes things way to complicated to bug with. We are actually working on another idea that may help out people and spruce up the game which we will explain once we finalize it.

 

I like the system as it is now. I don't want it to be changed to anything else, unless it helps the game get more people.
