KH- Fast Food Madness!

"That's good," Roxas said. He looked out the windows, watching people pass by.

 

Sora walked over to Roxas' table and slowly lowered himself into a chair. He struggled to get the bottle open. With a hard twist, the cap finally came off. He set it on the table and took a sip of water.

 

"Kairi's still asleep, I'm guessing." Roxas flitted his eyes over to Sora.

 

Sora nodded and set the bottle down on the table. He looked out the window and watched the people walk by. They were lucky; their lives were normal today, unlike his.

 

Roxas watched the people again outside. Maybe their lives could go back to being normal someday. Too much had happened recently, and they all dealt with more problems than anyone could actually have in their lifetime, and they had it only while they were teenagers. What did that mean for their future? Were more challenges ahead?

Roxas saw a girl with blonde hair walk by, and he immediately thought of Namine. He hadn't seen her in days.

 

Sora sighed. "We should probably wake up Kairi and talk about what we're going to do next." He said out loud, regretting that he had to put Kairi through more stress. Hadn't he caused her enough pain alread?

 

Roxas nodded in agreement. "Should you or should I?"

 

"You can." Sora told him as he rose to his feet. "I've gotta go to the bathroom."

 

"Gotcha." Roxas got up and started for Merlin's office.

 

Sora walked into the McDonalds bathroom and into one of the stalls to do his buisiness.

 

Roxas quietly opened the door, seeing Kairi asleep on the floor. He approached her and knelt down next to her. "Kairi," he whispered. "Kairi, time to get up."

Kairi opened her eyes. "Hey, Roxas. I've been up for a few minutes. I was just laying here..."

"Alright," Roxas said with a nod. "Sora's using the restroom right now, and we want to talk about what's going to happen now. So we thought it'd be best to wake you up and talk back out there," he explained as he pointed over his shoulder.

Kairi nodded. "Okay." She sat up, and with Roxas' help, got to her feet. She went toward the door, running a hand through her hair.

Roxas followed her out to the main part of the restaurant.

 

Sora walked over to the sink and washed his hands. He couldn't help but look in the mirror. He had bags under his eyes. He looked so much older than he actually was. And his skin was paler than it used to be. Sora sighed and looked away. There wasn't anything he could do about that. He walked out of the bathroom and walked towards the table he had been at. He grabbed his water and took a few sips.

 

"Hey," Kairi greeted Sora as she approached the table. She pulled out a chair next to him and sat down.

Roxas sat down across from the two.

 

"Hi." Sora turned and greet Kairi. He set down his bottle and took a seat next to Kairi.

 

Kairi glanced at both of them. "So, what was it that we all gathered for?"

Roxas clasped his hands together on the table and looked at her. "We're not sure where to go from here, actually."

 

Sora nodded and looked down at his folded hands resting in his lap.

 

Kairi looked at them both. "What do you mean?"

Roxas looked at Sora for the answers. Maybe it was best for Sora to explain this.

 

Sora looked up when he noticed Roxas looking at him. He stared at the water bottle as he spoke. "We're not sure what we should do about the police and stuff like that." He said simply.

 

"Oh." Kairi looked at the table. "Well, we can't keep running forever. You guys know that."

"Yeah, we do," Roxas said. "We're just not sure how to handle it."

 

Sora nodded again, feeling troubled. He had gotten his friends invovled and now it was likely the police would want them to. He felt guilt and regret in the pit of his stomach.
