KH- Fast Food Madness!

Sora shut his eyes tightly and grabbed onto one of the low tree branches. He slowly lift himself back up, still grabbing his side. "I did not need that." He said softly, angry at himself for being taken down so easily. Now he had another injury to worry about.

 

Kairi glanced at Roxas, watching as he threw another punch at the cop and hearing a groan escape him from pain. She then looked at Sora anxiously, but sadly because of the pain he was feeling. He didn't deserve any of this.

 

Sora stood upright and opened his eyes. They needed to get away. But he wasn't leaving Roxas behind. The other officers were probably on their way now. He glanced over at Kairi and then quickly looked away when he saw her worried expression.

 

Roxas looked over at them, anger on his face. "Did you not hear me?! Get out of here!"

Kairi glanced back and forth between the two boys and then examined the officer's face. His nose was bleeding and his eyes were closed.

 

"Kairi, you go." Sora ordered her as he looked towards the house. He heard the sound of officers running around in her yard.

 

Kairi turned her head quickly, staring at him. "No, Sora."

 

"You have to." He pleaded. He knew that he and Roxas wouldn't be able to take down all the police. There was no way he was letting Kairi be taken.

 

Kairi stared at him with pleading eyes. "But-"

"He's right. Go, now!" Roxas hollered, throwing one last punch at the now unconcious cop.

Kairi stared at Roxas for a second and then moved her eyes to Sora, hesitating.

 

"Do it!" Sora told her as he looked her in the eye.

 

Roxas stood up and looked at them, examining their faces.

Kairi stared at Sora, frozen by the firm sound of his voice and the look in his eyes. She'd never seen him like that before...She nodded once and bit her lip, turning around and heading the opposite way.

 

"Roxas, go with her." Sora said, his voice unreadable.

 

Roxas stared at Sora, his eyes piercing. "Not a chance. I'm staying here with you."

 

"You have to protect her." Sora pleaded to Roxas, having a hard time looking him in the eye. "Please."

 

Roxas ground his teeth together and his eyes flitted toward Kairi's house as the cries from the officers were heard. He looked back at Sora. "You know more than anyone how hard it was for her to leave you. Imagine how heartbroken she'd be if I were to run too."

 

Sora's eyes quivered. "If anything happens to her..." he trailed off and looked down to his feet.

 

Roxas sighed, running a hand through his hair. He couldn't understand what Sora was going through with all of this, especially when Kairi was with him. Sora cared a lot for her, that was no secret. Even though he didn't understand this specific situation, Roxas did understand what it came to when something involved Namine...and her safety. "They're going to eat you alive if you're alone," he said.

 

"I'll get away. I just need to know that you'll be watching out for Kairi." Sora looked around the woods, glad to see that the officers hadn't stormed in yet.

 

Roxas walked over and stood in front of Sora. He stared at him for a moment, his face contorted in seriousness. He glanced back and then looked back at the brunet in front of him. Roxas put a hand on Sora's shoulder in a brotherly way. "You're sure you can handle this?"

 

Sora nodded, not feeling nearly as confident as he looked. He wouldn't fight; he would just run and hope he could outsmart the police somehow. "We'll meet at McDonalds."

 

Roxas nodded, his eyes glistening with hope and seriousness. "Be careful, man." Roxas pat him on the shoulder before taking off, heading the way Kairi went.
