KH- Fast Food Madness!

Sora took in a breath and stumbled to the back door. There was a loud commotion outside. They had to hurry.

 

Kairi put her hand on the doorknob and looked at Sora, her eyebrows furrowing. He wasn't doing very well. If he was feeling this bad, were they going to be able to make it? She didn't have time to answer any of her own questions as she jerked the door open, the sky getting darker outside.

 

Sora let out a sigh of relief when he didn't see anyone outside. Now was their chance to get away. But how far would he be able to go before he collapsed?

 

Kairi felt the cool air on her face but heard the cries of the officers and the sirens on the other side of the house. "Hurry!"

 

Sora nodded and began to jog towards the back of the yard. He stared straight ahead, blocking out anything else that might have distracted him. Police. Pain. Whatever. He didn't have time to think about those things at the moment.

 

Kairi pulled the door shut, being sure not to slam it. She ran after Sora across the yard. Where exactly were they heading?

 

Sora ran into the woods. He had to stop to take a break. He leaned against a tree and looked back to the house. He heard police yelling about nobody being in the house.

 

Kairi stopped a few feet away from Sora and glanced back at her home. Her expression was pure shock and fear. After hearing the outbursts, she knew they searched the house and found nothing. Where were they supposed to go? The police would probably check the woods next, and she couldn't think of anywhere else to go, or know how long Sora could go before he was worn out. The timing on this whole thing was terrible.

 

Sora looked at the sky as he panted and tried to catch his breath. Maybe they could make it to Roxas's house, since he was pretty close. But then again, who said the police weren't down there too. Sora didn't have any other ideas though.

 

Kairi listened to the now fainter sirens near her house. She bit down, grinding her teeth together, and fought back the tears she wanted to shed. She hated this mess, but she had to stay strong. For herself and for Sora. Kairi huffed and faced the other way, her eyebrows furrowing.

 

There's no way we could go to Roxas, Sora thought as he listened to the sirens. He couldn't put his friend in danger like that. He saw two police officers enter the backyard and begin their search. Sora slid behind a tree and stared at them with wide eyes.

 

Kairi crossed her arms, her back to her home as she tried to calm herself down. Those stupid cops. She just wanted to make them go away, but since they knew who she was, she couldn't confront them. They'd take both her and Sora into custody and that wouldn't be a very good thing for either of them. But why is Sora wanted so badly? He didn't do anything. He was just a kid in the hospital that overcame his death bed, more than once. A lot more than once. Kairi couldn't understand it. It wasn't making any sense.

 

Sora blink and returned to reality. Why was he standing there? He had to run. He tapped Kairi's wrist and silently went deeper into the woods.

 

Kairi looked at him and followed him, stepping quietly on the dirt. "Where are we going?" she whispered.

 

"I have no idea." He got between breathes. He continued to walk.

OOC: Gotta get off for a little bit; be back soon.

 

Kairi didn't reply and walked right behind him, watching him carefully. She didn't want him to collapse at any second and she had to keep her eyes on him to be assured that he was in front of her and okay. She risked one quick glance behind her and didn't see anything.

OOC: All right.

 

Sora stopped and turned around. Nobody was behind them. Yet. He shut his eyes a little and leaned against one of the trees, sweating already.

 

Kairi stared at him with concerned eyes. She could tell he was having a hard time.

 

Sora lowed his head and felt tears fill his closed eyes. He couldn't fall apart. He had to keep going. Just one more minute of rest and he could continue.

 

Kairi took a few steps forward and stopped next to Sora. She rubbed his shoulder for a second to comfort him before turning back and glancing the way they came. Still nothing.
