KH- Fast Food Madness!

"Okay," she said. Kairi looked at him and then at the window. Probably more cops, she thought. There was another honk of a horn and she jumped. Wait a second. Kairi thought back to a few minutes ago, to when she was having her recap of that afternoon. There were screeches and squealing of tires outside her house, and with the cops running around, it clicked. There was most likely a car crash.

She sighed away her surprise of the car horn that honked and had made her jump. Whatever was going on, she wanted it gone soon.

 

Sora turned around and leaned against the wall. He could hear his own shallow breathing and his heart beating. He suddenly began to feel sick to his stomach. He kept his head low as he stared at his shoes.

 

Kairi got up and threw her tissue away before walking to Sora. She looked at him once, taking in his posture. Whatever it was that was bothering him, they didn't need another event. Kairi reached forward and wrapped her arms around his waist, resting her face against his shoulder. She just wanted to have him be comforted, and she wanted to comfort herself. Sora was the only way right now that she could.

 

Sora was surprised when she didn't ask him what was wrong. He almost wished that she would have, but she probably thought they didn't have to talk about everything. Or maybe she didn't want to talk about anything. They had gone through enough drama these past few days. He could stay strong for her. Sora wrapped his arms around her and tried to ignore his increasing headache.

 

"Whatever is going on, I hope you're all right." Kairi stared at the wall as she kept her face against his shoulder. She knew that if something was really bothering him that he would say something. She didn't need to be all up in his business. Some things were meant to be kept secret, and she understood that. Kairi just hoped it wasn't something big, that could change things.

 

Sora was even more surprised. Weren't girlfriends supposed to be all up in your face if they thought something was wrong? That was what he had expected. He heard the sirens outside and instinctively hugged Kairi tighter.

 

Kairi heard the sirens and suddenly felt Sora's arms tighten around her. What was it? "Sora..." she said, a worried tone in her voice.

 

"I'm just a little on edge." He said as he softened his embrace.

 

"Something outside?" Kairi asked, her eyes narrowing in concern as she stared at the wall.

 

Sora shook his head a little. "No. It's nothing." He tried to reassure her.

 

Kairi blinked, biting her lip. "You don't sound so sure..."

 

Sora remained silent. He couldn't lie to her. The events from earlier that day had scared him so much. He felt like he needed to talk about them, but at the same time, he wanted to stay away from the topic at all costs. He was afraid the fear might return if he spoke.

 

Kairi didn't like the silence. It was an eerie silence, one she hated the most. She knew something was wrong by it, but she knew that if Sora wanted to tell her, he would...when he was ready. Maybe this was one of those things that was better kept secret. Kairi understood that; she wasn't a normal girlfriend, knowing that sometimes things were just better left unsaid and not being all up in someone's business. Sora wasn't a normal boyfriend either, being the Keyblade Wielder and being different from other guys. She didn't care if he wanted to keep something to himself, even if she was worried or curious. As long as he knew that she was there for him was all that mattered.

 

Sora closed his eyes and took in a breath. He couldn't stand that sound, but it was all he could hear. Everything else had faded away; the only thing he heard was the sound of police sirens. The ringing filled his ears and seemed to echo through his mind.

 

Kairi turned her face, laying her other cheek against his shoulder so her face was just under Sora's chin. She flitted her eyes up to him, seeing his closed. He'd tell her, he'd tell her. If it was that serious or important, he'd tell her. She tightened her arms around him slightly, letting him know she was there for him.

 

Sora took in a few more quiet, shallow breaths. The sirens were too close for comfort, too loud. It frightened him too much. He had to get away, but he felt like he couldn't move his legs.

 

Kairi felt his chest move with every breath. They were too quick. She looked up at him now, her eyes full of concern. First it was her in trouble, and now it was him. Was it just going to keep rebounding?

 

Sora felt his head spin, dizzyness overtaking him. It felt like he would throw up. It was probably after affects of a few surgeries and no hospital medicine. He tried to keep himself steady in Kairi's arms.

 

Kairi studied his face, feeling her weight shift slightly. But it wasn't her. Something was wrong. "Sora?"

 

"Sorry." Sora muttered as he let go of Kairi. "I need to sit down." He walked over to the couch and quickly sat down. He leaned forward and rest his elbows on his knees.
