KH- Fast Food Madness!

Kairi gave a small smile to the people she saw pass her by on the sidewalk, not bothering to wave because of her shaking hands. Almost home.

 

Sora stopped at a crosswalk, impatiently waiting for the sign to change. At least he was in the middle of a large group of people.

 

Kairi continued down the sidewalk, about to cross the street when she saw a police cruiser. It stopped in front of the stop sign perpendicular to the sidewalk and she waited. The man in the car waved her on and she crossed the street, tucking her hair behind her nervously. They were everywhere. She hoped Sora was okay.

 

The sign finally changed. Sora and crowd walked across. Sora noticed a police car out of the corner of his eye. He remained calm as he stayed in the group. After they had reached the other side, Sora slipped into another building. It was a shoe store.

 

Kairi sighed. She'd taken the less populated way out of town, and was close to her house. Only a few more blocks. The wind picked up, and Kairi crossed her arms tighter against her chest. She really needed to get warmer clothes.

 

Sora walked through the shoe store, pretending to browse. He was really watching out the front window for any sign of the police. He stayed in there a few minutes.

 

Kairi made her way across another street, now on her street but needing to travel a block or two. She glanced behind her. Nothing. Sora wasn't there. Where was he?

 

Goofy yelled into the back, having waited a couple of moments with no reply. "Riku? I need that food soon!" Goofy yelled to the cook. He had noticed Pete was starting to glance at his watch from time to time and tap on his dashboard impatiently.

Just as the music finished, Demyx stopped breathing, went limp, and lay flat on his back, no longer showing any signs of life.

Hercules, needing a place to break for lunch, dashes across the road for Burger King. Sure they were competitors, but one had to admit their fires were somewaht better. Crisper and just the right amount of fat, not all salty and fatty like McDonald's fries.

 

Sora exited the store and snuck into the middle of a crowd again. He turned as they turned. He needed to blend in. If he was being followed, then he needed to try and lose that person before he was close to Kairi's house. He couldn't put her at risk.

Axel sighed. "Guess I better bring him back." He muttered as he walked over to Demyx.

 

Kairi passed the houses on her street. She glanced at her feet before looking up. Her eyes widened slightly as yet another cruiser drove down her street. She wondered if someone had said that Sora was around this neighborhood. Why else would they be traveling around her street so much?

 

At the same time Axel was near Demyx, Hercules walked through the door with a grin on his face. "Hey I know we're not exactly fast-food partners but-" Herc's grin changed to a wide-mouth when he saw Demyx unconcious, and Axel near him. "Holy Dad!" Hercules remarked, and dashed for a phone, dialing 911 as fast as he could.

 

Sora continued to follow the crowd. It was heading in the right direction. Sora was thankful that something was going right.

Axel picked up Demyx's body and began to give him the heimlich (sp).

 

Hercules dropped the phone and gasped, seeing the person he himself believe to have apparently killed the mullet-kid start to seemingly "take advantage" of the body, rushes over in a bull attack, and headbutts into Axel's side. "You sick freak!" Herc cursed heroically.

OOC: If I could get Herc fired...could I change the busboy to Stitch?

 

Kairi continued down the sidewalk as the cruiser drew nearer. She kept her eyes in front of her, trying to act natural. Her heart skipped a beat when the cruiser came to a slow stroll next to her, and she looked over, frozen.

"Excuse me, Miss?" The officer in the car leaned toward his passenger window at her. "Have you seen a boy with spikey brown hair around here lately?"

Kairi shook her head.

"All right. Have a nice day," he said as he drove away.

Kairi watched him drive off. She couldn't believe this.

Axel grunted and moved out of Herc's way. "WHAT'RE DOING!" He shouted at the hero.

Sora saw a cop car driving down the street. He kept his head down and walked into another building: a public bathroom. He went into a stall and shut the door.

 

Kairi crossed the street as she approached her house. It was silent in her neighborhood, no movement except for the wind and the trees. I hope Sora's all right, she thought.

 

Sora spit into the palm of his and and ran his hand through his spikey hair. He flatened it almost completely. He was surprised at how easy it had been. He flushed the toilet and walked up to the mirror. It definitly made a difference in his appearance. He took in a small breath and walked back outside.

 

Kairi sat down on her front steps. She stared blankly across the street, not really seeing anything at all. Her thoughts were centered on everything that happened lately, which revolved around Sora in some way.

 

Sora walked across another crosswalk and stared staight ahead. Only one more block. Just one more. He kept walking.

 

The wind blew Kairi's hair in her face, and she swept it back. She looked down the street hopefully. Nothing. She glanced the other way. Still...nothing. She sighed and placed her hands in her lap, studying the concrete beneath her.
