KH- Fast Food Madness!

"I understand why you are, though, Sora," Kairi said. "The past couple days have been some of the roughest of your life."

 

"Yeah, but..." how could he put what he was feeling into words? In a way that Kairi could understand. In a way that he could understand. He needed so badly to sort this out, but he didn't know where to start.

 

Kairi tilted her head, her eyes concerned. "But...what?"

 

Sora shook his head. "I don't even know anymore. I'm just so mixed up and numb right now."

 

Kairi rested her hand on his shoulder. She couldn't say she understood, because she never could. Sora was in a completely different place than she was. Even though they were dealing with the same problems, it was worse for him on his side. Even if she thought she had it bad, she always knew to never complain because somebody always had it worse. And, unfortunately, it was Sora. Kairi rubbed his shoulder supportively. She didn't know what to say to him.

 

Sora was glad that Kairi was silent; it was somehow comforting. It reminded him that he wasn't alone. He sniffed. He needed to be strong through this, if not for Kairi, than for himself.

 

Kairi took in the silence, sitting down completely and leaning her back against the side of the house. She pulled her knees up and looked out into the trees behind her home. The silence was nice. But for some reason she felt eerie, like it was the calm before the storm. Another storm.

 

Sora wiped away one more tear and rose to his feet. He looked down at Kairi. "Let's do something fun today."

 

"Okay," she said with a small smile. "What do you suggest?"

 

"Do you want to go bowling?" He asked, grinning.

 

Kairi stared at him, her lips slowly spreading into a smile. Bowling? "But...what about the police?"

 

"I doubt they would be looking for me in a bowling alley." He smiled. "Besides, I'm not letting them ruin everything."

 

Kairi nodded with a smile. "If you're sure, why not?" Bowling, huh? She hadn't been in a while. She had a feeling this was going to be full of laughs.

 

Sora smiled widely. He was going to have fun today. They both were. He was going to make sure of it. "Great. But before we go, I should probably take a shower." He laughed a little.

 

Kairi giggled. "Right." She pushed herself up from the ground and dusted herself off. "Do you have extra clothes? I could go get some if you don't have any."

 

Sora shook his head. "No, I don't have any. You have some that could fit me?"

 

"Um..." Kairi thought for a moment. "I...don't think so," she said slowly. "But I could run to your house and fetch some clean ones if you want."

 

Sora felt sad for a moment, then shook it off. "The police are probably at my house."

 

"Oh." Kairi crossed her arms in thought. Maybe she could get some from Riku? No, Riku was taller than Sora. That wouldn't work. Roxas, maybe? Yeah, they were the same size, and he didn't live too far away. "Maybe Roxas would have some..."

 

"I think I might have a spare set of clothes at his house, now that I think about it..." Sora trailed off as he looked towards the sky.
