Kairi nodded and started walking to her living room.

 

Sora followed, close behind.

 

Kairi grabbed the remote off the coffee table and sat down on the couch. She looked at Sora and smiled softly. She pushed the power button and the TV came on.

 

Sora smiled and sat down besides Kairi, staring at the television.

 

Kairi held the remote out to Sora. "Here, you can choose the channel. I don't really care what we watch."

 

Sora shrugged and took the remote. He put it on the news. "Maybe we had better find out what's going on at the hospital." He said out loud, half to Kairi, half to himself.

 

Kairi nodded and stared at the screen. After what just happened, she was feeling a bit awkward.

 

Now back to our lead story. Yesterday, a fake doctor was taken into custody for attempted murder and armed assult. Perhaps you remember the story we brought you last week, about the young man who was shot at the popular McDonalds near Central Park. He was also somehow involved in the fight that went on at the jail. Apparently, the fraud wanted revenge against the boy and tried to kill him. However, the boy escaped and fled the scene before the police arrived. What's remarkable is that this young man survived TWO heart attacks within one hour. Police now have cars out searching for him, hoping to bring him into custody as well. We only know that his first name is "Sora." The police refuse to release anymore information. Sora stared at the screen in silence.

 

Kairi stared at the screen in shock. "They're...searching for you?"

 

Sora was silent. Why? Why did this have to come up?

 

Kairi looked at him. He wasn't saying anything; only staring. "Sora?"

 

Sora looked over at her, not having heard her the first time. "Hm?"

 

"Are you okay?" she asked.

 

"Oh, yeah, I'm fine." Sora looked down to his lap.

 

Kairi grabbed his hand.

 

Sora grasped her hand and shut off the TV with the remote with his other.

 

"I'm sorry this all had to happen," Kairi said.

 

"So am I." Sora said numbly. His emotions were too jumbled for him to feel anything at that moment.

 

Kairi looked away from him and stared at the floor.

 

"I need some air." He mumbled as he got up from the sofa and walked away.
