KH- Fast Food Madness!

Sora eventually came out of his curled up form but stayed facing away from Kairi. He couldn't worry about both of them right now. He just couldn't.

 

Kairi closed her eyes and brought a hand to her forehead.

OOC: Eery silence. What should happen now?

 

The doctor reentered the room and put a hand on Kairi's shoulder. "Would you mind leaving us alone for a minute?"

"I want her here with me." Sora stated as he rolled over and faced the two. His face was red from the many tears that had fallen, but he didn't care. He just didn't want to be alone.

 

Kairi looked at the doctor for approval and then at Sora. Oh, God. She cared for him so much.

 

The doctor nodded silently and walked to the center of the room. "Sora, it's not going to be an easy road to recovery. You may need multiple surgeries to fix the damage you've done to your heart." He looked down for a moment. "We'll give you two a few more mintues and then we'll go in for your first surgery. This will help us determine what our next course of action should be."

Sora nodded and the doctor kindly left the room.

 

Kairi looked at the door after the doctor left, staring at it for a moment. She looked down at the floor hesitantly, and then looked at Sora.

 

"Could you do me a favor?" Sora asked Kairi softly. "After this surgery, could you get Roxas to come see me too? And maybe some of my other friends?" They had a right to know how he was doing and what was going on.

 

Kairi nodded silently.

 

The doctor came back with a few more nurses and quickly took Sora to the ER. Again.

****Six Hours Later****

Sora heard his heart beating on the moniter. The room was different than his last. He looked towards the door and saw that it was the Intensive Care Unit.

OOC: I figured that we'd both want another time gap.

 

OOC: Okay.

Kairi walked into the hospital, a blond by her side.

"I wonder what room he's in," Roxas said.

Kairi walked up to the front desk and asked for Sora's room number, and the nurse told her he was in the Intensive Care. She nodded. "Thanks." She walked to the elevator and pushed the button, Roxas by her side.

"You okay?" Roxas eyed Kairi carefully. She was expressionless the whole day. He hadn't seen her show emotion once.

Kairi nodded. "Thanks for coming, Roxas. Sora's going to appreciate it."

"It's no big deal." He scratched his head. "Too bad the others couldn't make it."

Kairi said, "I know. I told them to come when they could. And I talked to Axel. He said he'd be over when he could get here."

"Oh. Good," Roxas said. The doors opened, and he followed Kairi out and to the room. He stepped in front of her and knocked on the door before opening it. He let Kairi walk in first, and he followed.

 

Sora slowly took in some breaths and rest his eyes, not hearing anyone come into the room. He wondered what was going to happen next. At the same time though, he dreaded the answer. For the first time in a long time, he was actually afraid.

 

"Hey, man," Roxas greeted. He walked toward Sora.

Kairi clasped her hands together in front of her and watched Roxas.

 

Startled, Sora's eyes shot open. He turned a little and saw that Roxas was walking towards him. "Hey." He greeted his friend softly.

 

"Kairi told me that you wanted to see me. How you holdin' up?" Roxas stood next to Sora's bed.

 

"I'm doing alright." Sora stated. He saw Kairi standing at the other side of the room so he didn't say anymore.

 

Roxas followed Sora's gaze, looking at Kairi. He glanced back at Sora questionably.

Kairi took that as her cue. "I guess I'll be back later." She tucked her hair behind her ear and walked out of the room, shutting the door quietly behind her.

Roxas arched a brow.

 

Sora hadn't meant to make it seem like Kairi should leave, but apparently Roxas took it that way. Maybe it was better that way. Sora sighed and slowly leaned forward. "This is so unreal." He muttered as he ran his hand through his hair.

 

"Well, you pretty much risked your life everyday a long time ago, remember?" Roxas asked. "This...just happened to be a lot worse, somehow."

 

"Yeah, but it was different in those worlds. There you could just cast a cure spell and then everything would be fine." Sora shook his head. "I wish things were that easy in this world."

 

"That's life, I guess," Roxas said shrugging. "You're doing pretty well, though. You'll be better in no time."
