KH- Fast Food Madness!

Sora thought for a moment. "No, I don't think so."

 

"All right. I'm going to get myself some water and I'll be back." Kairi opened the door. "You're sure you don't need anything? Anything at all?"

 

"No, I'm fine." Sora shut his eyes a little bit.

 

Kairi nodded. "Okay. I'll be back in a minute," she said, walking out the door and shutting it quietly behind her.

 

Sora lift up his head a little after Kairi was gone. He let out a heavy breath and grabbed his chest. The pain was almost as bad as it had been last night...that couldn't possibly be good. He shut his eyes tightly, trying to block out the pain. He didn't want Kairi to worry...but what if something was seriously wrong with him?

 

"Ugh! Why did I do that?!" Kairi said to herself quietly but angrily. She smacked herself on the forehead as she walked down the empty hallway to the water jug a few feet away. She winced as the stinging pain grew, but shook it off, ignoring it as she grabbed a styrofoam cup and filling it with water. She sipped it and sighed.

 

Sora tried to sit up and gasped in pain. He began to take in short, choppy breaths. Get it together...Sora thought. I can't let Kairi see me like this.

 

Kairi walked back down the hallway, trying to ignore the stinging in her stomach. That stupid Heartless, she thought. Sucker got me good. She sipped her water and approached Sora's room, putting her hand on the handle and pushing it open.

 

Sora rolled over away from the door so that Kairi couldn't see his face. He took control of his breathing again and moved his hand away from his chest.

 

"Are you asleep again?" Kairi smiled. "You lazy bum," she teased.

 

Sora slowly rolled over and smiled. "Not this time."

 

Kairi smiled as she approached his bed. "You feeling okay?"

 

"I'm doing alright." He gave her a reassuring smile.

 

"I hoped so," she said as she stood next to him. "God knows I don't want things to get worse for you. You've gone through a lot."

 

"Yeah." Sora stumbled. He didn't know what to say next. "We both have."

 

"Mm-hm. Thank goodness it's all over and there's nothing else wrong." Kairi blinked, immediately regretting she said that. She lied again. She mentally cursed herself again, but took a sip of her water.

 

Sora nodded. "I hope that you're right." But he had a bad feeling that she was wrong. There was no way he was going to tell her that though.

 

"So..." she started slowly, sitting down on his bed and facing him. "Do you know when you can get out of here?"

 

Sora shook his head. "I have no idea. They said that a doctor would be coming in soon to give us an update on my health."

 

"That's good," she said looking away.
