KH- Fast Food Madness!

Sora heard a soft voice come from the other side of his room. He looked over and saw Kairi sleeping on one of the chairs. "Kairi?" She was crying. Sora forced himself out of bed and hobbled towards Kairi. "Kairi, wake up." He said softly, taping her on the shoulder.

 

Kairi slowly opened her eyes, finding Sora next to her. Relief overcame her and a few tears slid down her cheeks as she pulled him into a hug.

 

Pain shot through his chest when Kairi touched him. He hid it to the best of his ability, returning her embrace. He had no idea what was wrong, but he didn't mind giving her a hug.

 

"I had a nightmare again, just like yesterday," she said. "You weren't moving...you were just..." She shook her head, holding him in her arms. "I'm so sorry for all that's happened," she said as she pulled back. "You don't deserve any of it."

 

Sora understood too well. It was how he had felt when he had seen Kairi die in his dream. It was the worst experience he could ever imagine. He hugged her tighter and put his hand to the back of her head, going over her beautiful red hair.

 

Kairi sobbed into his shoulder. Too much had happened recently, and she was breaking down. She'd been strong for so long, for Sora and for herself, but she couldn't do it anymore. She was strong when she needed to be, and those days were over. She couldn't keep it in any longer. Kairi felt so comforted in Sora's arms, and her sobs began to soften as she felt his hand stroke her hair.

 

Sora held Kairi close as she cried into his shoulder. He felt so helpless. There was nothing to do that could stop her crying. It was all his fault. If he hadn't been so stupid. If he hadn't gone to stop Riku, they wouldn't be in this situation right now. He took in a shaky breath. He felt so guilty.

 

Kairi exhaled a trembling breath as her sobs turned into just tears. That stupid robber, it was all his fault. It was his fault that Sora was in the state he was in right now, that Riku had become ludicrous, and that she was breaking down the way she was now. Her arms around Sora's back, she closed her eyes to try and calm herself down.

 

She's calming down,Sora thought. He was relieved that he had somehow been a comfort to her. He continued to hold her as she regained her composure. Did he mind that she had completely broken down? Of course not; he had done the same thing yesterday. What bothered him was that helpless feeling that he had.

Kairi wiped away a tear with her hand, still in Sora's arms. She sniffed. This was her comfort zone, right here in Sora's arms, right now. She didn't want to be anywhere else.

Sora gently pat Kairi on the back. "Do you mind if I go lie back down?" Sora didn't want to ruin the moment, but the pain was too extreme now that he was more upright.

 

Kairi pulled back. "Oh, no, of course not." She sniffed. "Do you need help?"

 

"I think I've got it." Sora said as he carefully rose to his feet. He slowly trudged towards bed and gently lowered himself back down onto the matress. He grimaced. Couldn't the doctors give him something for that pain he felt in his chest?

 

"Okay." She watched him and then sat up, stretching from her uncomfortable sleep on the chair. Kairi immediately bent over, the pain on her stomach stinging again. The medicine must've worn off while she was asleep. She stood up straight slowly, wincing but managing. Kairi ruffled her hair, running a hand through her red locks.

 

Sora looked over and saw that Kairi didn't look too comfortable. "Are you alright?" He asked, starting to feel worried.

 

Kairi nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine," she said. He couldn't worry about her when he was the one in the hospital bed. She couldn't do that.

 

"Are you sure?" He asked again. Something didn't seem right...

 

"Uh-huh," Kairi said. She had to cover it up. Was she a good liar? She didn't know; she'd never lied to anyone before, especially not Sora.

 

Sora gave her a smile and turned on his back. He was relieved that nothing was wrong. Kairi would never lie to him about anything like that.

 

Kairi cursed herself mentally. She knew that the lying was going to catch up to her soon. She'd always had bad karma. A sigh escaped her lips and she started walking toward the door. "You need anything?" she asked.
