KH- Fast Food Madness!

She turned her gaze and looked into her lap as she started to cry harder. "I broke down," Namine choked out through her tears. "I couldn't say goodbye. I couldn't do it."

Roxas was thankful he'd still been sitting in his upright position, because he had a better view of Namine next to him as he leaned his back against his pillows. Of course he didn't want to see her this way, but he understood that she needed to get it out. It was hard, dealing with stuff like this. Roxas looked at her sadly. "I'm sorry, Namine," he said softly, his voice showing his sadness. "Your grandfather's in a better place now. There's no hurt, no sadness, no pain. You understand that, right?" His piercing blue eyes gazed at her softly, full of concern and care.

 

"How can you be so sure?" Namine whispered fearfully, turning her sight to the boy she loved so much.

 

"It's this feeling I have," Roxas replied softly. "And your grandfather was a good man. If he doesn't deserve to go to Heaven, I don't know who does."

 

Namine nod once and bit down on her lip, a few stray tears sliding down her cheeks. But at least she had stopped sobbing.

 

Roxas slowly reached over and used his finger to delicately wipe away one of her tears, his eyes full of softened care.

 

Namine let out a shaky sigh and let Roxas wipe away her tears.

 

Once he gently swept the stray tears away, Roxas moved his hand up to Namine's forehead, brushing her bangs out of her sad eyes.

 

Namine blinked and shut her eyes halfway at Roxas' gentle touch as she started to feel a little bit better. But nothing he said changed the fact that her grandpa was dead. Nothing could change that.

 

Roxas brought his hand back to his lap, but kept his eyes on Namine. He wished he could do something, but he didn't know what. And with his leg being elevated like this, there wasn't much he could do anyways.

 

Namine wished he hadn't moved his hand, but she didn't say a word. She silently leaned her head on his shoulder, gazing at the floor with half open eyes.

 

Roxas turned his head and kissed her blonde hair.

 

Namine shut her eyes and wrapped an arm around Roxas' chest, pulling herself in closer to him.

 

Roxas put his arm around Namine while she got closer, holding her protectively. He'd do whatever he could to make her happy again, or at least make the tears stop.

 

Namine's breathing became more normal as she let Roxas protectively hold her. She kept thinking how much that helped instead of how everything was bad.

 

His hand on her shoulder, Roxas slowly started to run his hand over the fabric of her blue sweater. He tried comforting her to the best of his ability.

 

Namine blinked slowly, feeling Roxas' love through his action. She was lucky that she still had him. She hadn't lost everything.

 

Roxas inhaled a deep breath, his chest rising as the air filled his lungs. Then he released it, his breath leaving him slowly as he stared down at his injured leg.

 

One tear slid down Namine's cheek as she fell into a sad, yet somehow peaceful, sleep.

 

Roxas wanted out of here soon. He didn't care that he had to use crutches, he just didn't want to have to have Namine come here all the time. Her grandfather had died here, and she probably didn't want to rethink that everytime she visited. But he understood that his injury was pretty bad and that he had to be patient.
