KH- Fast Food Madness!

Sora looked down at his hand and saw the ring on his finger. He slowly brought up a hand and started taking it off, his hands shaking a little bit. He had to be very careful not to drop it. That would not be a good thing.

 

Kairi watched Sora curiously. What was he going to do with his ring?

 

"Here," Sora said softly, holding the the ring in the palm of his hand. "It'll give you good dreams."

 

Kairi looked into Sora's eyes, and then down at the ring. She reached out with her hand and gently took it from Sora's hand.

 

Sora smiled weakly and took back his hand, tiredly shutting his eyes for a moment.

 

Kairi slid the ring on her finger, the silver band fitting loosely around her finger. She smiled slightly. "Thanks, Sora," she said softly, lowering her hand back down to the bed.

 

Sora nod once in his pillow. "Sweet dreams," he murmered, a soft smile on his lips.

 

Kairi relaxed a little, her head sinking into her pillow as she closed her eyes. In what felt like seconds, she left conciousness with a soft sigh.

 

Listening to Kairi's even breathing, Sora felt himself relax into his pillow. He wasn't worried about her at all. She would make it through this; he was sure of it.

 

Kairi stood in the park, the world green around her. Namine was next to her and looking up at the tree that provided the shade. Kairi heard laughing and talking to her right and she turned around, seeing Roxas and Sora joke around as they started toward them. She smiled lightly.

 

Sora turned his head and gazed up at the ceiling. He wasn't too tired; just weak. He hated that feeling so much, and it upset him.

 

She watched as Roxas looked over at the tree and his smile brightened.

"Wanna see who can climb the highest?" he asked Sora, motioning toward the tree with his head.

Sora chuckled. "What, you think you can climb all the way to the top?" he challenged, smirking a bit.

"You know it!" Roxas suddenly ran forward and jumped, gripping onto one of the tree branches. He grunted slightly and pulled himself up, now standing on the branch as he reached up for the next. Kairi turned after watching him for a moment to see Sora walking forward calmly as he looked up at the tree like Namine was doing.

"Don't hurt yourself, Roxas!" she hollered up to the blond.

 

Sora gazed up at the ceiling. Kairi opening up to him had proven that he needed to be strong for his friends. If that meant ignoring his own feelings for right now, so be it.

 

Kairi flitted her eyes up to the blond in the tree. He was getting there, but slowly. Kairi caught Sora out of the corner of her eye standing next to her, looking up at the blond daredevil as well.

"He never turns down any challenge, does he?" she heard Sora say.

Kairi smiled and shook her head. "Nope."

After a moment, Roxas stopped. Kairi wondered why, but then Sora spoke.

"Give up already?" he teased.

Roxas turned his head and looked down at them. He shook his head. "No. I can't go any higher. The branches are too close together," he hollered down to them.

"Challenge over, then." Sora crossed his arms.

 

Sora shut his eyes and let his head fall deeper into the pillow. Just because he wasn't going to sleep didn't mean he couldn't get a little rest. Maybe it would help him feel better.

 

Roxas started making his way back down and stopped on the lowest branch to the ground, which was about six feet from the ground. "So, you're not gonna try, Sora?"

Sora smiled, and in a swift movement made his way up the branch parallel to Roxas. "I didn't say that."

Kairi smiled. "Since you two seem to be enjoying yourselves, mind if we join you?"

Roxas nodded and Sora smiled. Sora bent down and offered his hand. Kairi smiled softly and put her hand in his, her heart skipping a beat. She put her other hand on the tree and Sora helped her up, she now standing right next to him. Kairi looked up and she noticed how close her and Sora were, only a few inches apart as they stood on the tree. Sora met her eyes and smiled his trademark grin, and she smiled.

 

Sora sighed softly and felt himself doze off.

Sora flinched and opened his eyes, suddenly waking up from his short nap.

Roxas looked out the window at the clear sky, watching a plane fly by.

Kairi sighed softly, still conked out.
