OOC: Sorry about that short disapearance Dx

Sora took his hand away and opened his eyes, looking over at Roxas. "You have nothing to be sorry for," he gave his friend a weak smile.

 

OOC: It didn't say you were offline, actually. The thing was still red. But it's fine. xD

Roxas smiled faintly back, but didn't really agree. He caused Sora pain, and that wasn't what he wanted to do.

 

OOC: Whoa, that's weird 0_0

Sora turned on his side and faced Roxas, careful not to strain his right side.

 

OOC: Yeah, it does that a lot. Sometimes when I log on, it says you're still on, so I get really excited and zip on over to this thread, but then two minutes later it goes blue. And I'm like "D'awwww D8". xDDD

Roxas sighed softly and closed his eyes for a second. Then he opened them again and looked at Sora, then glanced over him at the bed on the other side. Kairi was still asleep. Roxas bit his lip and then looked at the floor.

 

OOC: I always seem to sign off at the worst times. Dx

"How're you doing?" Sora asked softly, wondering how he was doing physically and emotionally. He knew what kind of stress this could cause for a person, and he wanted to make sure Roxas didn't feel it as badly as he had.

 

OOC: It's all right. =)

Roxas looked up and shrugged slightly. "Okay, I guess. A little weak, and a little sore," he answered. He made a stern look. "The real question is how are YOU doing. You've gotten it the worst out of all of us."

 

Sora frowned slightly at Roxas' final comment. "I'm fine. Just a few injuries and a concussion. No big deal." Sora said the part about the concussion more softly, trying not to freak out Roxas.

 

Roxas noticed the change in expression on Sora's face. He hadn't meant to hurt his feelings. "Oh," he said. Here Roxas was, freaking out over pain in his leg when Sora had his arm in a cast and a...concussion. Yeah, that was fair.

 

Sora chuckled softly when he saw the change in Roxas' face, trying to lighten the mood. "Hey, relax, man. It's no big deal." Sora tried to wave off his concerns.

 

Roxas shook his head slightly. He didn't really agree with that. Weren't concussions, you know, a little serious? Well, as long as Sora wasn't really bothered about it, that's what mattered. It was him, after all. So Roxas should go along with it.

 

Sora sighed and rolled onto his back, his eyes staring up at the ceiling. "You worry too much," Sora said, slightly shaking his head.

 

"Only because I care," Roxas said softly. "But I guess it could be worse..."

 

Sora smiled softly and turned his head back towards Roxas, touched by his words. "Thanks, man." Sora said quietly. "And things have been worse, trust me. This is just a little bump in the road for me."

 

"Better a bump than a hill," Roxas said as he looked up at the ceiling. If he tried to be a little more optimistic about things, like Sora was doing, maybe he'd feel a little better.

 

"You got that right," Sora agreed, turning his head as he gazed back up at the ceiling.

 

Roxas smiled a bit and sighed softly. They'd all make it, as long as they didn't give up on each other.

 

"So, here's what I'm thinking." Sora spoke, not shifting his sight. "After this, we'll all go out to eat someplace and have fun again, like the old days. But we are NOT going to Boston Market." Sora smiled at his own words.

 

Roxas chuckled. "You got it," he agreed.

 

Sora smiled and stared off into space, not really thinking or anything...just staring.

 

Kairi turned over in her bed as she slept, sighing softly as she now faced Sora and Roxas.
