KH- Fast Food Madness!

"Thoughtful?" Sora questioned, wondering what exactly Kairi meant by that.

 

Kairi nodded. "Mmhm. Like, considerate and maybe a little curious; just...thinking, really."

 

"Curious about what?" Sora asked, now curious himself.

 

Kairi bit her lip before she answered. "Well, curious about how things will go from here." She let her feet touch the floor again. "And maybe a little curious as to how those gifts under your Christmas tree are still wrapped," she said jokingly, a small smile on her face.

 

Sora gave Kairi a soft smile, kindly letting the first part of her answer go as he gazed at the tree. "I guess I've been too busy falling on my butt and sleeping to do anything about that." He gave her a sheepish grin.

 

Kairi smiled. "Well, I'm sure Santa doesn't mind."

 

"Yeah...Santa," Sora smiled faintly and lift his eyes to the ceiling, thinking about the previous night. He was so glad that he and Santa could have some time alone, and that the jolly old man had set Sora straight again.

 

Kairi sat up straight, her hands on the edge of the cushion of the couch. "Did you catch him this year?" she asked.

 

Sora smiled and nod one time. "Yeah, I did." His eyes turned to the tree.

 

Kairi smiled softly, remembering that she had caught a little bit of the conversation, but not too much. She wondered what that was about...But she wasn't going to ask any questions.

 

Sora kept a small but serious smile on his face as he looked at the tree, somewhat surprised by the sudden silence. It almost seemed as if Kairi wasn't surprised by that. And if she already knew that he had seen Santa, then what did that mean...?

 

Kairi bit her lip as she stared at the floor. She remembered how Riku always used to tell Sora that Santa didn't exist. She was waiting for the day that he actually got to see him.

 

"But I'm guessing you already knew that?" Sora said, breaking the silence as he stared at the tree.

 

Kairi looked up, a little surprised by the question. "...I guess," she answered.

 

Sora smiled faintly, not moving. "I thought so," he nod softly as he spoke.

 

Kairi furrowed her eyebrows slightly, a little confused. True, she'd seen probably a minute or less of the man, but she had always had faith that Sora would catch him one Christmas or another.

 

"You didn't seem too surprised when I said I had actually seen him," Sora state, explained to Kairi how he had come up with that lucky guess.

 

"Oh," she said. "Well, I always believed that you'd catch him one of these days, especially since you know him personally," Kairi explained.

 

Sora smiled and spoke again. "And this year I finally did it. Or rather, he showed himself to me." Sora lookd up at the ceiling and chuckled at the memory. Santa would have gotten away if it wasn't for that loud crashing noise.

 

"Showed himself?" Kairi questioned. She thought back for a second to last night.
