KH- Fast Food Madness!

"I guess I should have brought my ice skates," Sora said softly, opening his tear filled eyes to Kairi as he offered a small smile. His arm felt like it had been shattered into a million pieces, but he doubt he had actually broken anything. He would probably just have a big, nasty bruise.

 

Kairi smiled ever so slightly at his attempt at humor. "We need to get you home," she said, her voice a little shaken. She just didn't know how they were going to be able to stand up on all this ice.

 

Sora nod and shut his eyes as he shift his good arm, placing it underneath him as he tried to sit up. The ice on his bare hand quickly made him lose feeling in his hand.

 

Kairi leaned back slightly when he moved. Stupid ice; why didn't someone salt down the sidewalks? That would've been the logical thing to do, so stuff like this didn't happen.

 

Sora let out a shaky sigh before biting his lip again, fighting the pain that rang through his arm. He pushed harder with his left arm, now sitting on his knees.

 

Kairi bit her lip. The last thing they needed was another accident. She slowly pushed herself up, her feet still as she now stood up, bending over slightly to keep her balance.

 

Sora kept his left hand on the icy sidewalk as he moved one foot, and then the other, underneath him. He slowly started pushing himself into a standing position.

 

Kairi stood up straight slowly, sighing softly when she didn't fall.

 

Sora held his breath as he stood upright, still shaky from his fall.

 

Kairi watched Sora with concerned eyes. She really hoped he was okay, especially after his spill.

 

Sora slowly opened his eyes as he stood upright, aware that an infinite number of tears were being kept inside. He bit his lip and looked at his house, very close now.

 

Kairi blinked, the cold air nipping at her face. The soon they got to Sora's the better.

 

"Let's go," Sora said softly, slowly taking one step forward on the ice.

 

Kairi nodded and followed his lead, taking a step forward carefully. Once she placed her foot down and didn't fall, she started walking slowly.

 

Sora let out a breath very slowly as he took a few more steps, his legs feeling like jello from his fall before.

 

"Are you all right?" Kairi asked softly as they walked slowly.

 

"I'll be better when we get inside." Sora said, focusing on his footsteps.

 

Kairi bit her lip as she slowly made her way to Sora's. She glanced up from her feet and saw that they only had a few more feet to go.

 

Sora turned into the walkway and up to the porch in silence.

 

Kairi followed him, the cold air nipping at her nose and cheeks. She needed heat, warmth.
