KH- Fast Food Madness!

Sora shift his arm uncomfortably, feeling a little awkward at his cast being the center of Roxas' stare.

 

Kairi gently put Sora's gift in the white box before closing it and starting to wrap.

Roxas rubbed the back of his head. "Do you know how long you have to wear that?" he asked, feeling a little awkwardness in the room.

 

Sora shook his head sadly. "No, I have no idea. I'm supposed to go back in for a checkup in a few days, though."

 

Kairi taped the wrapping paper to the box and finished wrapping in a few minutes. She grabbed the white ribbon to place over the red wrapping paper on the box.

Roxas nodded. "That's too bad. But it's better than a cast, right?"

 

Sora nod once with a weak smile. "Yeah, but my arm isn't broken or anything. I'm just supposed to not strain it or my shoulder muscle, so they gave me this." Sora explained.

 

Kairi tied the ribbon over the red wrapping paper. She smiled once she finished, satisfied with how well she had done.

"Ah, I see," Roxas said. "That's good news then. Maybe you won't have to wear it when you go back in."

 

Sora's smile stayed small as he replied with a nod and quiet answer. "I hope you're right."

 

Kairi stood up and stretched, sighing softly. She picked up the small box and set it on the coffee table in front of her couch. She went over and grabbed her things, her hat, gloves, and coat, and slid on her shoes. She walked back over to the coffee table and grabbed Sora's gift, slipping it into one of the bigger pockets inside her coat. She went over to the door and made sure she had her cell phone and key before walking out the door and locking it behind her.

Roxas looked away and stared at the tree. It was empty underneath because he'd already opened his gifts.

 

Sora blinked and looked down at his lap, silence overtaking the room as he and Roxas sat there.

 

Kairi started walking down the street toward Roxas' house. She wondered how he and Sora were doing.

Roxas blinked when his eyes got dry from staring for so long. "You know, you just missed Namine when you came over. She was here earlier this morning."

 

Sora smiled and looked over at Roxas. "Do you two plan on doing anything today?" He asked, wondering if he should invite Roxas to join him and Kairi for the day.

 

Kairi looked at her feet as she walked, watching her step so she didn't slip on another ice patch.

Roxas shrugged. "I'm not sure. She's with her family right now, but she said she'd call me when she was done."

 

"Oh," Sora said as he looked at the tree, feeling a mix of sadness for Roxas and jealousy of Namine. She was so lucky that she had family to spend the holiday with. Sora's mom was always away buissiness trips, leaving him all by himself a lot of the time.

 

Kairi looked up, seeing Roxas' house not too far from where she was.

"Yeah," Roxas said softly with a nod. His parents were busy at work today, on Christmas. They both worked in the same business, but they were home earlier this morning before they went in. So Roxas didn't have to spend Christmas alone entirely without his family.

 

Sora blinked at looked the tree, guessing that Roxas and his family had already unwrapped their gifts together. Another pang of sadness hit Sora's heart, but he chased it away, perking up a little bit. His mom may have been away, but at least he had friends to spend the holiday with.

 

Kairi turned at Roxas' house and walked up to his door. She rang the doorbell and then glanced behind her as a car drove by, her breath being a faint cloud in the cold air.

Roxas turned his head when the doorbell rang out. He pushed himself up from his chair with a small grunt and walked over to the door.

 

Sora's eyes followed Roxas as he saw the blonde walk to the door and prepare to let in the person, who he was sure was Kairi. After all, who else would come over on Christmas Day?

 

When the door opened, Kairi turned her head, and smiled at the face in front of her. "Hey, Roxas."

"Hey. Merry Christmas," Roxas greeted her as he stepped out of the way for her to walk in.

"Thanks, you too," Kairi said with a smile as she stepped in.

 

Sora smiled at the sound of Kairi's voice and slowly rose to his feet. He quickly put one hand on his back pocket to make sure the gift box wasn't sticking out. When he realized it wasn't, he let his arm fall back to his side.

 

Kairi slid off her shoes and started taking off her stuff, making sure that Sora's present was still in the inside of her coat as she hung it up. "Is Sora here with you?" she asked, making sure.

"Yup," Roxas said as he shut the door. "He's in the living room."
