KH- Fast Food Madness!

"Okay," Sora said as he pulled out a carton of orange juice and walked back to the counter. He set it down and then wondered how he would be able to twist open the cap with only one hand.

 

Kairi noticed the look on Sora's face. "What is it?" she wondered.

 

"Would you mind opening this up for me?" Sora turned around and asked with a sheepish grin. His arm was throbbing so badly already, and even if it was humiliating to have to ask, he wasn't going to hurt his arm any more than he already had.

 

"Not at all," Kairi said as she rose from her chair and walked toward him. She put her hand on the carton and the other on the cap and twisted it, the cap loosening as she turned it. She pulled the cap off and then looked at Sora. "Why don't you let me take care of this? Go ahead and sit down." She smiled softly.

 

"Alright," Sora said softly, giving her a weak smile before walking over to the table.

 

Kairi turned her attention to the orange juice and glasses. She picked up the carton and poured the juice into one glass, and then the other. She twisted the cap back on and put the orange juice back in the fridge.

 

Sora sat down at the table and grabbed his arm with his left hand, silently looking down at it. He really, really hate that he couldn't do much, but the least he could do was tough it out.

 

Kairi picked up the two glasses and walked back over to the table, putting one in front of Sora and the other next to her plate. She sat down in her chair and looked at Sora. She was a little worried.

 

Sora looked up at Kairi and let go of his arm as he offered her a small smile. "Thanks," he said shyly.

 

"Sure," Kairi said with a small smile. She grabbed her fork and started eating her food.

 

Sora smiled faintly as he picked his fork with his left hand. He was somewhat surprised at how easily using his left arm had come all of a sudden. Not just because he refused to use his right arm, but because he actually had okay control and strength in his left hand. It was probably because he had dual weilded for a while. He looked down and started eating his breakfast.

 

Kairi loved the taste of her food in her mouth. She hadn't eaten in hours, and her stomach was welcoming the food greatly.

 

Sora scarfed down his food pretty quickly, considering that he hadn't had anything for a few hours. Plus, he hadn't had good food in general lately. Only hospital food. Yuck.

 

Kairi reached for her orange juice when she finished. She brought the glass to her lips and took in a few gulps of the beverage. She put the glass down and then looked at Sora. "Nice work. It was good."

 

Sora shrugged with a small smile as he set down his fork. "Thanks." That was probably the easiest thing in the world. When he got better, he would have to treat Kairi to some real food. He smiled and took a few sips of his beverage.

 

Kairi smiled softly. She started to wonder when she should go get Sora's present back home. Or maybe she could have Roxas bring it over... She hadn't seen him in a while.

 

Sora brought his cup back up and drank some more thirstily. Orange juice had always been his favorite beverage. Well, other than hot chocolate, anyway.

 

Kairi pushed herself up from her seat and grabbed her plate and Sora's. She started for the sink.

 

Sora smiled weakly as he saw Kairi start to clean up. "You don't have to do that if you don't want to," he told her softly.

 

Kairi shook her head slightly when she reached the sink, looking over at Sora with a small smile. "No, it's okay. I don't mind."
