KH- Fast Food Madness!

Sora blinked and sighed. He was sleepy, but at the same time, he felt kind of awake.

 

Kairi sighed softly as she stared at the wall on one side of the room. She blinked, and it felt like her eyelids wanted to say closed even for that second.

 

Sora sighed softly and shut his eyes. He would be out in a few minutes, he was sure of that.

 

Kairi blinked again, but this time she didn't open her eyes when her eyelids closed. She didn't even have the energy to do that. As her head sank deeper into the pillow from exhaustion, Kairi left conciousness.

 

After a few moments, Sora fell into a deep slumber.

What felt like seconds later, a crashing noise suddenly woke up Sora. What was that? It sounded like it came from the living room...

 

Kairi turned over in her sleep when she heard something loud. She sighed softly, trying to get back to sleep.

 

Sora silently climbed out of bed and slowly opened his bedroom door, looking around before he entered the hall. He tiptoed down the hall and peeked around the living room doorway before going into that room. He let out a small gasp when he saw what had caused the noise.

 

Kairi rolled over again. Whatever the noise was, it had woken her up.

 

"Santa!" Sora gasped and walked into the living room, seeing Santa Claus laying some presents under the Christmas tree.

Santa grinned up at the teen. "Hello, Sora. It looks like you've finally caught me." He let out a jolly laugh.

"You're really here!" Sora exclaimed happily, running up to hug Santa, staring at him with wide eyes.

Santa laughed again. "You bet I am." His tone changed to sound a little bit more serious. "Now, Sora. I didn't get a letter from you this year. What do you want for Christmas?"

Sora bit his lip. "I want things to be the way they used to be, but you can't make that happen, can you?"

Santa sadly shook his head. "No. Sorry."

 

Kairi sat up in her bed and rubbed her eyes. She didn't know what the sound was, but it woke her up. Her eyes widened. Had Sora hurt himself again? She got up out of her bed and went toward the door, opening it and walking out into the hall. She couldn't afford another mishap, and neither could he.

 

"However, I can give you some of my wisdom. Would that be alright?" Santa spoke more softly.

Sora silently nod.

"I've gone around to all the worlds, and I've heard many wise people tell others how to have eternal happiness. Are they all wrong? Are any of them right? I wondered about that for a long time. But I finally found the answer, Sora. If you make the good things count for more than the bad things, then you'll be happy no matter what.

"But what if the bad thing is really big?" Sora asked quietly and bit his lip.

Santa shook his head. "Even then. Make the good things count for more than the bad."

Sora smiled weakly, believing that Santa was right. "Where did you get that from?" He asked curiously.

Santa, standing upright now, pointed a finger into Sora's chest. "From you." He said softly, smiling.

 

Kairi heard Sora's voice. Who was he talking to? And then she heard a deeper voice, and she walked a little quicker down the hall. It couldn't be... Kairi walked around the corner and into the living room, stopping when she saw him, her eyes widening slightly.

 

"Me?!" Sora questioned, confused. "But how?"

Santa chuckled softly. "When I had met you, Sora, you had everything to be upset about. But you weren't. You were cheerful and upbeat and optimistic about the future. That's how I knew."

Sora bit his lip as tears flood his eyes. Had he really made Santa figure that out?

"You've made me a much wiser man, Sora." Santa smiled widely.

 

Kairi was a little confused. She must've been dreaming or something, because there was no way Santa Claus was really here. But she blinked, and he was still there. However, she did get a feeling this conversation was important, and not wanting to interrupt, she leaned against the wall and watched, a small smile on her face.

 

"But--how could I have shown you that when I didn't know myself?" Sora asked, baffled at the idea that he had made an impact on someone so important.

Santa laughed loudly. "Your head may have not known it, but your heart did."

Sora nod slowly, starting to understand.

 

Kairi smiled softly. She didn't entirely know what was going on, but she had an idea.

 

"Well, Sora. I have to get going now." Santa handed him a small box. "Give this to Kairi for me, alright?" He whispered in the teen's ear.

Sora smiled softly and nod. "I will," he promised. He looked down at the gift curiously.

"Merry Christmas, Sora."

Sora smiled and spoke again. "Thanks, Sant-ah?" Sora looked around and saw that the jolly man was gone.

 

Kairi's smile grew. It was sad to see the jolly man go, but at least she'd gotten to see him this year. And Sora seemed a little better now too, which always made her a little happier.

 

Sora looked up at the ceiling and smiled as he heard sleigh bells jingle. He smiled widely and stared upwards with wide eyes.

 

The jingling of the bells rang in Kairi's ears and she looked up with a soft smile. The jolly man always brought smiles.
