KH- Fast Food Madness!

Sora reached for the shampoo and worked it through his hair, feeling relief as it started to get rid of the oil that had been sticking so strongly to his hair. He let the water rinse away the shampoo and watched it as it went down the drain before washing his body.

 

Kairi got more comfortable on the couch, curling up in a ball and leaning her head against the back cushion as he back rested against the arm of the couch. She nibbled on her lip as she started playing with the ends of a few strands of her hair. Things were going pretty well so far compared to what could be happening. Like before, with Sora being so upset and down, it could've gotten worse, and she was so thankful it hadn't.

 

Sora turned off the water and grabbed a towel, drying off. He was relieved that he finally felt clean again. And less tense; that hot water had really helped his sore muscles. Even his shoulder hurt a little less now.

 

Kairi tucked the strands behind her ear as she stared off into space. She did it a lot when she was tired, and random thoughts would pop in her mind.

 

Sora slipped on his black pajama pants and white T-shirt once he was dry. He shook up his hair and used the towel to dry it a little bit more before he hung up the towel and walked down the hall.

 

Kairi blinked when her eyes got dry from staring so long, her vision actually focusing on something in the past few minutes.

 

Sora walked back into the living room and stood in the doorway, staring at the beautifully lit Christmas tree. The colorful lights from the tree faintly reflected off his bright blue eyes.

 

Kairi bit her lip as she continued to stare off, her vision unfocused. She suddenly got a song stuck in her head and started thinking over its words, the meaning behind the lyrics.

 

Sora turned his head and looked over at Kairi, who seemed to be deep in thought. He decided that it was probably better to leave her alone, so he silently sat down in a rocking chair a few feet from the couch.

 

The song stuck in her head, Kairi'd heard it a million times and never really thought about the words. The song was really symbolic, and the woman who sang it was trying to prove to the people she loved that she'd always be there for them when they needed her. For some reason Kairi felt different after thinking about it.

 

Sora kept his eyes open as he stared at the Christmas tree, not really thinking about anything at all...just staring.

 

Kairi turned her head, feeling a presence in the room. She finally noticed that Sora was there. She smiled slightly, thinking back to the lyrics of the song. Did that symbolize her and Sora's relationship? They were always there for each other, so maybe...

 

Sora didn't shift his gaze from the tree as he started thinking again. So much had happened tonight, good and bad. He wasn't sure how he should be feeling at that moment, and that was kind of confusing.

 

Kairi turned her attention from Sora to the tree. The silence was peaceful, and welcoming her sleep. She felt her eyelids getting heavier as she gazed at the lights.

 

Sora shook his head slightly and leaned back in his chair. He had been happy earlier. That's all that mattered now. At least, that's what he kept telling himself.

 

Kairi leaned deeper into the couch, her eyes growing heavier. Her muscles had relaxed, and she couldn't find the energy to move.

 

Sora looked over at the clock on his DVD player and was surpised to see that it was only 11:45. It felt so much later than that.

 

Kairi's vision started to leave her as her eyes drooped. She sighed softly, her head resting against the back of the couch.

 

Sora looked over at Kairi's sigh and smiled faintly when he saw her dozing off. "You should go to bed," he said softly.

 

Kairi smiled slightly. "I would if I had any energy," she explained softly.
