KH- Fast Food Madness!

Sora wiped at his nose and threw the tissue into a wastebasket a few feet away. He sighed softly and shut his eyes as he leaned against the counter, thinking a little bit.

 

Kairi bit her lip. It really was getting late, and she had a feeling it'd be really late before she got back, if she came back.

 

Sora opened his eyes and looked over at Kairi, curious at her silence but not saying a word.

 

Kairi continued to nibble her lip as she stared down at her feet. It'd only take a second to prepare his present; she just had to take the price tag off and place a golden bow on top. Nobody wrapped jewelry cases anymore, and she knew it'd only be a waste of wrapping paper if she did use it.

 

Sora turned his eyes to the clock and felt his eyes widen when he saw what time it was. It was almost 11 PM. Almost Christmas. He slowly took in a breath and then exhaled.

 

Kairi took her cell phone out of her back pocket. She opened it and checked the time. "Wow... I better go," she said.

 

Sora nod once. "Okay." He said, understanding if she wanted to be doing stuff at home on Christmas Eve.

 

Kairi pushed herself from the counter and started walking toward the front door to grab her things. She ran her hand through her hair and sighed as she walked.

 

Sora blinked and stood there for a moment. He wished Kairi wouldn't have to go, but of course he understood if she had to go home. He couldn't possibly keep her here against her will. Sora stood upright and walked into the living room.

 

Kairi slid on her gloves and coat, and then slipped on her shoes. She didn't want to leave Sora here, especially on Christmas Eve. Nobody deserved to spend Christmas alone.

 

Sora walked over to the front door and opened it a crack, curious to see what the weather was like. "Whoa." He breathed, a cloud appearing in front of him. A half foot of snow lay on the ground. When had that gotten there?

 

"What is it?" Kairi asked as she messed with her hat.

 

"It snowed again...a lot." Sora turned his head away from the door and looked over at Kairi.

 

"It did?" Kairi asked, her eyes widening slightly. She walked forward a step to see out the door.

 

Sora nod and stepped away from the door, shivering from the cold air.

 

Kairi's eyes widened even more when she saw the snow, the road covered from a lack of cars. The cold air hit her face. "You think I can walk through it?" she asked, her breath a cloud of hot air as she spoke.

 

"I don't know..." Sora said, unsure. It would probably get icy soon too, and that wasn't good...

 

Kairi shut the door and turned around. She slipped on that ice earlier when there was barely any snow on the ground. She couldn't imagine how bad it might be outside now.

 

Sora shivered and crossed his arms. He really didn't want Kairi going home in that...

 

It had to have been worse out there now, and the lack of cars on the streets proved that. Kairi shook her head slightly as she looked up at Sora with worried eyes. "I don't think I should go..."
