KH- Fast Food Madness!

Sora gave her one last smile before he started walking towards the kitchen. Walking through the doorway, he was glad that he had actually cleaned the kitchen a day or two before everything happened. The room actually looked more than decent--neat and tidy. Sora automatically reached up at a shelf with his right arm, but he immediatly brought it back down to his side, taking in a sharp breath. Then he reached up with his other hand and grabbed two packets of hot chocolate mix.

 

Kairi followed Sora into the kitchen and leaned against the counter. She was relieved that he was acting happier now, something she was looking forward to ever since they left the hospital, but never really got to see. It automatically made a soft smile appear on her lips.

 

Sora set the packs on the counter and poured water into his water boiler, only using his left hand. He let out a quiet breath. Working with one hand was harder than he thought it would be, especially since he was right handed.

 

Kairi watched Sora work on the hot chocolate, but she didn't feel right standing there. She didn't like the feeling she got while she watched him, and it made her think she was being rude. "...Do you want some help?" she asked softly, biting her lip when she finished.

 

Sora shook his head. "I got it," he turned around and smiled at her softly. He flipped on a switch and the water began to heat. "Do you want marshmellows with yours? I have some mini ones in the cabinate above the stove."

 

Kairi shook her head slightly. "No thanks," she replied. She'd never liked the marshmellows with the chocolate. She just prefered it without them.

 

"Okay," Sora grabbed two cups and set them on the counter as he waited for the water to heat.

 

Kairi sighed softly, biting her lip. She was curious as to how things would play out from now on.

 

Sora hummed a random tune as he wait, keeping the serious thoughts away with the simple tune. He didn't even know what song it was, but it was distracting him thinking about that. A small smile appeared on his face.

 

Kairi started thinking about later tonight and how things would go now that Sora was happier than he was a few minutes ago. Then she started wondering about Christmas morning.

 

Sora shut his eyes, trying to place the tune.

 

Kairi knew they'd have a white Christmas this year, one she'd always wanted. It brought a smile to her face thinking about it. The morning would be bright, the sun hopefully reflecting off the white covered ground. Christmas morning would be nice, and she didn't want to think any different.

 

The sound of beeping brought Sora back to reality. He pushed a button and poured the water into two cups.

 

Kairi wanted Happiness for Christmas, but she also wanted something else: the jawdropper. She wanted that reaction, or something along those lines when Sora opened his present. Kairi froze. Sora's gift... "Shoot," she said, smacking her hand against her forehead and holding it there. She left his gift at her house.

 

Sora set down the glass and looked over at Kairi. "What's wrong?" He asked worriedly. The last thing he needed was for another thing to go wrong.

 

"I forgot something at my house," Kairi answered, bringing her hand down. She looked over at him and noticed his expression. "It's nothing for you to worry about, though."

 

Sora raised an eyebrow, but stayed silent. He could tell by Kairi's reaction that it was something important to her, but he wouldn't question it. She would tell him if she wanted to.

 

Kairi shook her head slightly when she saw Sora's face. "Really. It's fine. I'll just get it in the morning." She'd have to wake up early then. Maybe if Sora was asleep she could hurry to her house and get it...

 

"I don't mind if you have to go do stuff at home," Sora told her quietly. "It's not like I'm going anywhere." He gave her a small smile.

 

Kairi smiled back slightly. She didn't want to leave, but she needed to go prepare that present.
