KH- Fast Food Madness!

Kairi bit her lip when another cold gust came around. Sora had to be freezing...

 

Sora shivered and felt his whole body tremble when he was impacted with another gust of cold air. He bit his lip to keep his chattering teeth silent. Oh well, at least his house was only a few steps away now.

 

Kairi slowed her pace when they reached the yard. She still had a feeling that she better just go home...

 

Sora looked at the ground as he walked past Kairi and up towards his house. With shaking hands, he turned the door knob and walked inside.

 

Kairi stopped and crossed her arms. Once Sora was inside, she bit her lip and turned back around, walking farther out into the cold. She tucked hair behind her ear as she nibbled on her lip, looking down at her feet as she walked along the sidewalk.

 

Sora left the door open behind him in case Kairi wanted to come in. He didn't turn around and wait for her, though. He walked straight for the couch, where he had laid his coat. He coughed loudly and reached a hand into the coat pocket and pulled out his medicine.

 

Kairi sighed, watching her breath appear in front of her as she walked. She looked up at the starry sky. At least he was at home now, and was safe. That's all that mattered to her.

 

Sora walked into the kitchen and quickly filled a glass with water. He swallowed the pill and gasped softly as he hiccuped, still shaken up. He walked back into the living room and saw that he was alone. He felt tears flood his eyes as he started towards the front door and looked outside.

 

Kairi was about a half a block away, staring at her feet as she walked. Her feet crunched on the snow, the only sound in the place around her.

 

Sora numbly shut the door and walked back into the living room. He walked around the room and grabbed at all three of the blankets that had been sitting around on the chairs and wrapped them around himself. He sat down on the couch and wrapped his arms around his knees as he cried.

 

Kairi felt kind of bad. She wanted to stay with Sora, but she somehow didn't feel welcome anymore. Their hug back there hadn't solved anything. She closed her eyes while she walked, realizing that she'd have to spend another Christmas alone.

 

Sora's chest heaved as he began to sob again. Why did this have to happen? Why did he have to ruin everything? Now he was spending Christmas Eve alone, and that was the last thing he wanted to do. He had driven Kairi away, and he was sure that none of his other friends would want to see him now anyway.

 

Kairi stopped, her arms crossed over her chest. Maybe she should make sure that he actually is okay...

Roxas checked the time. 9:45. He was sure that Sora was awake, so he picked up his cell phone and dialed his number.

 

Sora sniffled and let his body fall into a laying position on the couch. He wrapped the blankets tighter around his body as another tear slid down his cheek.

 

No answer. "Hm." Roxas was just wondering when he should bring Kairi's gift over. Oh well. He'd bring it tomorrow morning.

Kairi looked over her shoulder. She wasn't sure...

 

Sora shut his eyes and took in a breath, shaking. He coughed and rubbed his hands together under the blanket. At least he was starting to get rid of the numbness that had been caused by the cold. Not that that meant too much to him now.

 

Even though she didn't feel as welcome, Kairi really didn't want to be away from Sora on Christmas Eve, even Christmas day. She took a step back toward his house, but stopped. She didn't know whether or not she should go check on him or just leave him alone.

 

Sora shut his eyes and hiccuped again. He felt so, so cold in his heart. And very alone. He wanted someone there, but he was afraid that if anyone got close, he would hurt them. It was what he had done to Kairi, and he was willing to bet that he would hurt anyone who came in contact with him.

 

No. Kairi wouldn't let one fight push her away from the person she loved most. That was too easy. She'd fight back, if anything. Kairi took another step, and then another, and then another...eventually walking steadily back to his house. But that wasn't fast enough, and she was becoming impatient. Kairi changed that walk into a run as she continued toward his house.

 

Sora sniffled and turned, lying flat on his stomach now. He didn't care that his chest burned and he couldn't stop shaking. He just wanted to sleep and never wake up. He cried and stuffed his face into a pillow.
