KH- Fast Food Madness!

The cold gust of the winter wind and Kairi's sobs made her shiver in unison, causing a groan of discomfort to leave her throat. She lifted her head, seeing the street in front of her, Sora nowhere in sight. The glow of light from the front door being open shown on the white snow and pathway, but she didn't even bother closing it. And going back in, that would only cause the events to unfold in her mind and the memory would revive from what she'd done. She didn't want that, not at all. Kairi realized then that all she wanted was him. She wanted him next to her, but he wasn't...and wouldn't be.

 

Sora sneezed and hiccuped at the same time, making an odd snorting noise come out of his nose. He sniffled as the snot trailed out of his nose and the tears continued to run down his face. He lift his knees up to his chest and wrapped his arms around them. He burried his head into his knees and let out another quiet sob.

 

Kairi wiped at her eyes, getting rid of her tears that only brought more bitter cold to her face. She sniffed and stood up, taking one last look at the street. No sign of him. Kairi sniffed again and went inside, but didn't close the door. She went over to the chair and grabbed her coat next to the tree before walking back to the door to grab her stuff. After putting on her gloves, coat, and hat, Kairi slipped on her shoes. A tear slid down her cheek as she looked back at the living room, thinking of the scene again, which only brought more tears. She made a sound of disgust and then walked out the door, pulling on the doorknob so it shut behind her as she stepped down on the steps.

 

What had he done to deserve this? He had changed, but was that a sin? He hated the change he saw in himself, but Sora doubt that he deserved to be sitting all alone in a New York City park on Christmas Eve, sobbing and his chest burning in pain. Some Christmas Eve. He ruined everything. For his friends, and himself. It would be better for him to just disapear. Another hiccup made his chest jump as he took in a breath of freezing cold air.

 

Kairi crossed her arms over her coat, starting to walk down the road. She didn't know if she'd run into him, but she was going home regardless. Either way, at Sora's or at her own house, she was going to be alone on Christmas. Kairi exhaled shakily, seeing her breath in a white cloud.

 

Sora sniffled once more, wiping away the snot that had run out of his nose. He was so cold, inside and out. He shakily rose to his feet and leaned over to pick up the sling. He folded it and somehow managed to stick it in his pocket. The tears continued to run down his face as he started towards home, his eyes watching his feet as he walked on the icy, New York sidewalk.

 

Kairi felt tears run down her cheeks as she stared at her feet while she walked. Nobody was outside now. Instead, they were inside with their families, somewhere she wouldn't be. While they were warm and in good company, she'd be alone in an empty house, no Christmas tree and no lights. Just emptiness.

 

Sora sniffled and kept walking, not really caring what he found at home. As soon as he got inside, he would lock himself in his room and never come out. It would be better in there than possibly hurting the people he loved. Again.

 

Another weak cloud formed when Kairi exhaled, looking up at the sidewalk. All she could make out was the dull ice and snow around her, her vision still blurry from the tears that kept sliding down her face. She grabbed her coat and pulled it tighter around her, crossing her arms again as she shivered from the cold.

 

Sora wrapped his arms tighter around his chest as a gust of cold wind hit him hard. The tears that were running down his face felt as if they were frozen since they were so ice cold. Like his heart.

 

Kairi thought about his face after what she had said. Sora had looked so hurt...something she never wanted to cause him to feel. She'd practically spat her words at him, her voice like venom. She made a sound of disgust, more tears falling down her face as she got mad at herself. Her face expressed pain and sadness, the feelings she couldn't get rid of.

 

Sora's walk was stopped when he suddenly walked into something...no, wait it was someone. "Sorry," he mumbled to the person, looking up after a moment. His eyes widened a little when he saw who it was.

 

Kairi winced when she colllided with something, or someone. She brought a hand to her arm. "It's all ri--" She looked up and her eyes widened when she saw him in front of her, her tear-stained cheeks glistening in the light nearby.

 

Sora blinked and bit his lip, his eyes quickly darting to the sidewalk.

 

Kairi shifted her wait uncomfortably. "Where....were you?" she asked slowly, hesitating. She didn't know if Sora would talk to her after what she said.

 

"At the park down the street," Sora answered softly, shivering from the bitter cold air.

 

"Oh," Kairi said simply, looking down at her feet. This was going to be awkward...

 

Sora bit his lip and felt another tear slide down his cheek. He quickly brought up and hand and wiped it away.

 

Kairi bit her lip. She exhaled, seeing her breath in a cloud of air. The girl closed her eyes, her wet eyelashes tickling her cheeks. She didn't know what to say to Sora. She felt terrible, and didn't know where to begin.

 

Sora shivered and shut his eyes as he wrapped his arms tighter around his chest. In the heat of the moment, he hadn't even grabbed his coat, and now he was paying the price for it. He didn't feel right walking away, though. Not again.
