KH- Fast Food Madness!

Kairi looked at him with concerned eyes. "I've made many all ready, Sora. And I truly don't mind it. Really."

 

Sora bit his lip and then spoke again. "You won't be able to spend Christmas at home..." he said softly. "...are you sure you want to do this?"

 

Kairi nodded with certainty. If she was at home, she'd spend Christmas alone because her guardian was gone on a business trip, like every winter. She was used to it, and she'd rather spend Christmas with Sora anyway.

 

"Then it's settled!" The doctor clapped his hands together once, breaking the momentary silence. "Kairi, why don't you go sign out Sora while we give him some privacy to get changed?" He nod towards the door and began to exit.

Sora silently gave her a shy smile.

 

Kairi nodded and smiled at Sora before leaving the room behind the doctor. As she walked down the hall, she couldn't help but smile widely. She was so happy Sora was finally able to leave. Kairi caught the elevator before the doors closed and pushed the button for the first floor.

 

Sora stood for a moment, in shock. He really got to leave? Just in time for Christmas, too. He smiled faintly as he slipped on his normal clothes, relived to get out of the hospital gown he had been stuck in for so long.

 

Kairi approached the desk and signed the paper the receptionist gave her. After a minute, Kairi handed the clipboard back to the woman and smiled. "Thank you," she said as she headed back to the elevator to meet Sora upstairs.

 

Before putting on his shirt, Sora looked down at his chest and grimaced at the sight of the scar. It was clearly visible, and it looked pretty nasty. He quickly dismissed the sad feeling and carefully put on his shirt.

 

Kairi climbed in the elevator next to a few other people and pushed the button, placing her hands behind her back as the elevator doors closed.

 

As soon as he had finished dressing, Sora heard the door room open and saw the doctor walking in with a sling and a bottle of medicine. Sora frowned slightly at the sling, but walked forward towards the man anyway.

The doctor calmy showed Sora how to put on the sling and take it off without straining his arm at all. "Remember, wear it at all times." He reminded Sora.

Sora answered with a nod, now wearing the sling. He was at least thankful that it was cushioned around his neck, so it wasn't too uncomfortable. Still, it would take some getting used to.

 

Kairi exited the elevator and started for Sora's room. She knew he was done changing already.

 

"And here are your pills. Take one every 8 hours, alright?"

Sora nod and took the medicine out of the doctor's outstretched hand.

"I also want you to come back on December 29th so I can check on your progress, okay?"

Sora nod once again. "Okay," he agreed.

"Well, Sora. It's been nice working with you, despite the circumstances." The doctor reached out his hand and Sora outstretched his and shook the man's hand, giving him a small smile.

 

Kairi approached the door, putting her hand on the doorhandle. She opened the door and walked in, smiling slightly when she saw the doctor and Sora shaking hands. It was official--Sora was finally going home.

 

The doctor turned around and saw Kairi enter the room. He gently took away his hand from the handshake and walked towards the door. Before exiting, he turned around and once more spoke to Kairi and Sora. "Have a Merry Christmas." He smiled and exit the room.

Sora smiled and said a quiet thanks as he watched the man leave.

 

Kairi smiled as the man left and then turned to Sora, smiling softly at him.

 

Sora shift his eyes and smiled at Kairi, feeling much more at ease now that he was officially going home.

 

"You ready?" Kairi asked as she walked up to him.

 

"You bet," Sora smiled as she walked closer to him.

 

Kairi smiled. "Okay. Let's get your coat on then." She turned her head and found the table she'd set his coat and gloves on.

 

Sora turned around and noticed his coat and gloves for the first time. When did those get there? He wondered silently.
