Kairi nodded once. "Thank you," she said before the kind nurse left.

 

Sora opened his eyes a crack and looked over at Kairi, who was looking at him with a worried expression.

 

"Sora..." Kairi bit her lip. She hated seeing him this way.

 

Sora opened his eyes and lightly pat the bed with his hand, wanting her to be close to him.

 

Kairi sat down next to him without a word. She wanted to be next to him too.

 

Sora reached for her hand and let out a shaky sigh as he shut his eyes again.

 

Kairi placed her hand in Sora's own. She felt so bad, and it made her feel even worse to know that he was the one suffering.

 

Sora's breathing was a little bit more shallow than normal, but it was returning back to normal as the medicine began to work.

 

Kairi stared at him with sad, concerned eyes. "I'm sorry..." she spoke softly. She didn't want him to have to deal with this anymore.

 

Sora opened his eyes a crack and looked up at her sad eyes. "You have nothing to be sorry for," he said softly, squeezing her hand a little.

 

Kairi kept her violet-blue orbs on him. "I shouldn't have slept here with you. That only made it worse..." She couldn't think of any other reason as to why he would be feeling pain.

 

Sora shook his head a little, lifting it up a tiny bit so he could look at Kairi better. "No, the medicine just wore off. Don't worry about a thing." He offered her a small smile.

 

Kairi attempted a small smile, but it faded when she looked down. Still, he was stuck here. What if he wasn't able to go home? The thought of it disappointed her; she was looking forward to his release.

 

"Everything'll be fine," Sora murmered, gently stroking Kairi's hand with his thumb.

 

Kairi nodded and looked at their hands. She wanted him to be better, to be happy again.

 

Sora smiled faintly and sighed. He was still in pain, but it was getting better now.

 

Kairi gently lifted Sora's hand in hers to her lips and kissed it lightly.

 

Sora smiled and opened his eyes, looking up at her again.

 

Kairi kept her hand in Sora's as she set it back down, her eyes closed as she tried to relax. Hopefully his pain wasn't too extreme.

 

"Don't worry," Sora said softly, giving Kairi a small smile. She was so easily read whenever she was worried or concerned.
