KH- Fast Food Madness!

Kairi kept her hand on his supportively but looked away from the needle. She'd never liked those things.

 

Sora gripped Kairi's hand a little more tightly as he felt the needle leave his arm. He lift his eyes up to the doctor as the man spoke again.

"It's all done," The doctor gave him a small smile. "That should help the pain."

"Do you have any idea when I can leave?" Sora asked as he locked eyes with the man.

 

Kairi bit her lip as she looked at Sora. At least there wasn't an IV anymore, but what was the other medicine?

 

The doctor looked down at his clipboard. "That depends...have you felt dizzy lately?"

"Not at all today," Sora answered confidently. "It happened a couple times yesterday, but not today."

 

Kairi looked up at the doctor, hoping they'd get good news today.

 

"That's a good sign," the doctor smiled. "Your health is improving, Sora. Your wound is just taking a little while to heal. Of course, because of the circumstances, that's to be expected.

Sora nod and kept his eyes on the doctor, glad to hear some good news. Now he really wanted to hear when he could go, but he didn't want to appear rude, so he stayed silent and wait.

 

The corners of Kairi's lips turned up slightly at that news. But what she really wanted to know is if he was going to be able to go home soon.

 

"So, if the dizzyness doesn't return and your wound heals up a little more, you should be able to go home later tommorrow," the doctor smiled down at Sora.

"Really?!" Sora asked excitedly, wanting to jump out of bed and hug the man.

 

Kairi suddenly grinned, her eyes immediately falling on Sora. She couldn't wait for tomorrow to turn up.

 

The doctor chuckled. "Yes, really." His face suddenly turned serious. "But, you'll need to take it easy. No moving around unless it's absolutely necessary. And you'll have have wear a sling at all time, except for at night."

 

Kairi's grin vanished into a soft smile at that news, but at least he was getting out soon. That's all that mattered.

 

Sora's smile fade a little, but not that much. "It's alright," he said quickly. He hated slings, but still, if he had to chose between the hospital with an IV in his arm or home with a sling, he obviously would chose the second option.

 

Kairi gently squeezed Sora's hand, her smile still on her face. She admired his optimism.

 

The doctor nod and put a small smile on his face. "I'll be back in a few hours to check up on you again," he said as he started to exit the room.

Sora quietly thanked the man as he left, leaving the two teens alone again.

 

Kairi looked over at Sora once the doctor left, happy with the news.

 

Sora turned his head and looked at Kairi, smiling as he looked into her violet blue eyes.

 

Kairi's smile stayed planted on her face as she looked at him, her eyes meeting his own. She was glad to see him smiling again.

 

"Only a little bit longer," Sora said aloud, for the benefit of both of them. He was so relieved that it was almost over.

 

Kairi nodded. "I can't wait," she admitted. She was already excited about taking him out into the fresh air.

 

Sora grinned. "Neither can I."
